Priyanka Chopra, who was born on July 18, 1982 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand is an Indian actress, singer and Miss World 2000. She became known through her roles in Bollywood films. In addition to acting she brought out three singles so far. Since October 2015, Chopra is the lead actress in the US television series Quantico.

Priyanka Chopra was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand and grew up in Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. As a teenager, Priyanka lived with her aunt in the United States for several years because her parents were doctors in the Indian Army and were constantly moving. Priyanka studied in Lucknow, Bareli and Boston. Upon her return from Boston, she was invited to attend the Femina Miss India competition, to which her parents had registered her without her knowledge. She won the title and represented her country in 2000 in the election to Miss World, which she also won.

Then she went to the film and celebrated her 2003 Bollywood debut in the action film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy on the side of Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. After this movie she was seen in Andaaz next to Akshay Kumar, for which she received the Filmfare Award 2004 together with her film partner Lara Dutta for the best debut. In the same year she appeared alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in the comedy Two Hearts for Rani (Mujhse Shaadi Karogi), which became the third most successful movie hit of the year in India. Besides, she was still in Aitraaz as Kareena Kapoor's opponent, for which she was awarded in 2005 by the Filmfare readers with the Best Villain Award.

In 2006, Chopra established herself as a Bollywood actress through the female lead role in science fiction blockbuster Krrish (2006) alongside Hrithik Roshan and garnered international attention in the action remake Don - The Game Starts On The Side Of Shah Rukh Khan.

In 2008 she was seen in the hit comedy Dostana (2008) with Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham. In addition, her portrayal as ambitious supermodel Meghna Mathur in Fashion 2009 has been honored with numerous awards such as the Filmfare Award, National Film Award, IIFA Award and Star Screen Award. Also through her appearance in 2009 in the movie Kaminey - Unequal brothers with Shahid Kapoor in the lead role, she received awards and nominations.

In the black comedy Susanna's 7 Men, she appeared in 2011 as a femme fatale, which avenged the penalties of her husbands in self-justice, for which she received the 2012 Filmfare Critics Award. In the action thriller Agneepath, which broke records at the box office, she appeared again at the side of Hrithik Roshan.

She played the title role in the biopic about the Indian boxer Mary Kom in 2014 and got a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress. In February 2015, Chopra received the lead role of Alex Parrish in the US television series Quantico. The series is on ABC since September 2015. The role made her gain 2016 People's Choice Award in the Favorite Actress category in a New TV Series.

In 2017 she played the role of unscrupulous oil magnate Victoria Leeds in the feature film Baywatch, based on the eponymous television series. In the same year she was admitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which annually awards the Oscars.
