Sunday Steak Tip: How you slice a piece of meat can make a big difference in it's tenderness. Especially when it comes to cuts with lengthy muscle fibers like Flap (aka bavette), Flank, Skirt, etc. When you cut against the grain the long fibers get shorter and a tough piece of meat can end up being very tender.
If you haven't yet read @_johndurant the Paleo Manifesto, I highly recommend that you do. . Durant makes a compelling case for a biologically appropriate ancestral diet by drawing on anthropological evidence and his education in human history, and takes his reader on a truly enlightening journey through the evolution of humanity (including a brilliant interpretation of the Old Testament) and into modern life. . I read this book a few years ago and just recently dug it out to give to my son (I think Durant's easy, blokey style and common sense approach will appeal to him) but I've ended up engrossed in it myself for a second read.. and it's just as good as the first time.
Grilled Picanha steaks butchered off a whole Sirloin Butt. @chrisjspath demonstrated in my stories how he pulls off this Brazillian delicacy and our favorite way of eating it at home on a budget. Picanha is also called Sirloin Cap steaks or Coulotte. Before we found it at the grocery store the only place to get it was at a fancy Brazillian Steakhouse. This is Chris's favorite cut currently. Вот примерно так я порой себя ( с удовольствием 👌🏻) ощущаю после плотненького приема пищи один раз в день ☝️ (#omad - one meal a day), на который я подсела пару лет назад, что полностью противоречило частому дробному питанию, особенно когда питалась только углеводами из фруктов/овощей/злаков... так что продолжаю #поствеганскаяисповедь )) когда я познакомилась с кето-диетой, было жуть, как страшно столько жиров кушать, ведь это вопреки веганской догме (ведь углеводы- самое лучше топливо! Как я верила))) но...на кето диете стали происходить чудеса)) и стала так приятно не думать о еде каждый час и не бороться с постоянным чувством голода! 🙏 Любая кето-диета отлично имитирует самый положительный эффект голодания, которым издревле лечили всякие виды сумасшествия и депрессий. И вообще сама голодовка-это вообще не страшно! Мне было сначала страшно после веганского опыта частого перекусывания углеводами ( 🍎 🥣 🍞 ) с постоянными приступами голода с необходимостью подбрасывать регулярно в «топку» углеводы, а то и настроение, и энергия шустро улетучивались... страшно было пробовать кушать редко!
For the first time in my life I am spending my summer in shorts and tank tops. I spent so many summers still wearing jeans and layers because I was uncomfortable in my own skin. This picture on the left we were at the beach and I still had long pants and a 3/4 length shirt on! It was extremely hard for me to be overweight in the summer and that brought it's own set of physical challenges. #tmi One day I was just tried of being physically miserable and was finally ready to make a change. But it wasnt that easy. It is never just one decision to get healthy. It is dozens of little decisions every day, thousands of decisions over the last year and a half to get to this point. Leftover lunch steak and fresh grilled dinner steak. I am normally a One Meal A Day person but today I split my normal 2 lunch steaks into 2 meals. I have been primarily OMAD for the last year. If I do eat more than once it can often be a trigger for me to munch for no reason. 🤦♀️🤦♀️ I am going to try 2 intentional meals for a bit to see how I feel. So far though I found myself thinking about food for too much of the day. How many meals do you usually eat per day and why?
This crazy Face App was cracking us up last night but today it has me feeling all the feelings. 😭😭😭 With the direction our health was going it is very likely Chris and I would not have ever been old enough to look like we do in this picture. And we certainly wouldnt have been active in our old age or have seen our children as old.
