🍫🐕⛴️ Desires. 🏡🤑👭👬 Who doesn't have them? How armful can they be or not be? . Have you ever had an internal personal meltdown 🌪️ because of the chocolate cake you wanted so much but you couldn’t get? . 🕉️ In yoga the sages talk about letting go of desires. What they really mean is to let go of the attachment to the result of the desires. . In our reality the desire comes in ways of wanting chocolate cake, or a job promotion 💼, or wanting to go to a party or on holidays 🏖️. Up to here it is all good, desires are catalyst, are necessary to our being, is what drive us to move forward. . The attachment to the outcome of the desire is what can cause suffering 😭, pain, disappointment 😞 , because what we desire is in my hands, but the fulfilment of that desire is in someone else's hands. . Imagine we want a chocolate cake, having the desire it is not a problem but we might not find a chocolate cake at that time of the night, or maybe the shop run out of chocolate cake, or maybe the ones we find have orange on it and we don’t like the combination fo chocolate and orange so we don’t get the chocolate cake and now we are feeling incomplete, restless and disappointed and having a internal personal meltdown for something that was not in our hands to be fulfilled. . Have desires but notice your emotions of when you get the desire fulfilled and not fulfilled. 1. Measure arm placement by reaching for outside of elbows. Interlace fingers and palms remain open. Place crown of head down on the floor (envision where you could balance books if walking 📚😝). 2. Stand legs up and walk feet in (coming off heels), working to stack hips over shoulders. Elbows magnetized toward one another.  3. Roll as high as you can in the toes (find almost weightlessness in feet) and lift knee into chest. Core engages.  4. Try pressing so far forward that maybe you hover the toe and take micro jumps lifting extended foot. 5. Press forearms firmly down to protect neck (head should almost be weightless). Slowly lift other foot bringing both thighs to the chest.  6. Shift center as hips stack over shoulders. Thighs raise up from chest. Pause. Take a few breaths. Check in with your neck and elbows for alignment. If stable, slowly straighten legs up to ceiling. When starting out try staying for 10-15 breaths and exit the same way you came in (one leg at a time). *MAGIC TICKET* Those hips over the shoulders made a HUGE difference for me! It creates a feeling of very light toes that are much easier to lift. Try walking your feet as CLOSE in as you can and THEN roll high onto the toes before lifting the first leg. • Let me know how it goes and if I can help in anyway! 💕 Love love, Chels -

Sie bringen Länge in die Bauchmuskeln, Hüft- und Schenkelmuskulatur und verbessern gleichzeitig die Beweglichkeit der Wirbelsäule. Die Muskulatur zwischen den Rippen wird gedehnt, diese Muskeln brauchen durch das viele Sitzen den ganzen Tag meistens sowieso eine extra Portion Aufmerksamkeit. Außerdem wird die Atemkapazität erhöht und die Verdauungsorgane gedehnt. Das wirkt positiv auf die Verdauung und den Stoffwechsel . . . ✨Auf mentaler Ebene helfen Seitbeugen dabei, die Entschlossenheit und den Fokus zu stärken, das hilft dabei, wenn man vorwärts gehen und seine Ziele verfolgen möchte. . . . . Wieviel Ruhe und Frieden finden wir wohl, wenn wir die Liebe in uns und für uns fühlen?  Auch dann, wenn der Partner fort, das Portmonee leer oder die Nächte unruhig und die Augenringe nicht zu übersehen sind. 🐼 Wie sehr können wir uns dann lieben, statt zu bemitleiden oder gar zu verurteilen? Ich glaube, das ist die Freiheit von der im Yoga gesprochen wird.  Bewusstsein erfahren darüber, dass wir einzigartig und vollkommen sind, so wie wir sind. My happy pose. Alertness meeting relaxation is where I find the magic begins for me in any pose. In my largely upside down world, a headstand lends itself especially well to that meeting. Maybe it's all just in my head but as the great magician/writer Lon Milo Duquette said - Magic is indeed all in your head, but your head is a hell of a lot bigger than you think it is 🌞 . I've had a thing for headstands since the first time I let one happen at a teacher training at Sivananda Ashram in a remote Himalayan village (Netala) back in 2013. Thank you @masaoyoga for your light-hearted non-hierarchical ways of teaching! Back then it gave me a sense of achievement to "get" the pose and dissolve a few mental blocks on the way. . 🌺 From aggressively chasing poses to introducing Krishnamacharya's 5 principles (swipe left to read) into my practice, it's been a huge shift. . 🌺 The importance of an asana is its energetic function, not what it looks like. What you feel in the asana is way more important than what it looks like. Now if only cameras could capture energies and feelings, I wouldn't have to be yet another Yoga teacher posting Yoga pose pics on IG 😬 . 🌺 I love that the 5 principles above can be incorporated into all the styles & brands of Yoga that derived from Krishnamacharya but left out these crucial principles. An oversight that often leads to bullying the body and breath instead of befriending them.  Thank you @markwhitwell for sharing these principles in your Heart of Yoga trainings. Today is day 20 of the 21 day yoga challenge I gave myself earlier this month!  Commitment, strength, balance, and courage can sum up that past few weeks of practicing yoga every day.  I started off #strongnotstretchy but now I can almost touch my heels down in down dog 🐶 I'm in no rush though.. I can't wait to put together a video about this experience. It's going to be a good one!
