I’m gonna admit it: I’m a sucker for romance. Loving love is in my nature, and that translates into the types of books I read. I don’t know if I like a single book that doesn’t have SOME kind of relevant relationship (be it romantic, platonic, or familial) that’s at the forefront. Something about connections between people feels very important to me, which I think is why I became a wedding photographer (or a photographer at all!). Some of my favorite OTPs are referenced in this picture: Jude and Cardan from The Folk of the Air, Gansey and Blue from The Raven Cycle, Morozko and Vasya from The Winternight Trilogy, Warner and Juliette from Shatter Me, Julian and Emma, as well as Kit and Ty, from The Dark Artifices, Will and Tessa from The Infernal Devices, Feyre and Rhysand from A Court of Mist and Fury, and Kaz and Inej from Six of Crows. A special shoutout to my OWN otp, Atticus and Vivien from the series that I’m writing right now! They’re still in their baby stages, but I hope they touch your hearts like they’ve invaded mine. «««««««««« QOTD: Who are some of your favorite otps? «««««««««« kit and will funko from HavenThorn Customs custom Atticus morelle candle from @wickwishcandleco custom Warner candle from @wickwishcandleco dirtyhands candle from @alchemyandink morozko candle from @alchemyandink #bibliophile #bookstagrammer#bookstagram#readersofinstagram#bookobsessed#bookphotography#read#bookworm#instabooks#bookish#yalit#yaliterature#booknerd#bookaesthetic#cassandraclare#warner#thecruelprince#rhysand#cardan#theravencycle#leighbardugo#funko#acotar#candles#adultlit#ocs#bookishcandles#booklove
『what makes reading+dielines different?』 The best thing about this market is that it’s still fairly uncharted. I’ve been following etsy shops and artists here on ig and we all have different styles. In that sense we’re able to cater to a whole range of fans. ♥️ One thing I think I can bring to the table after kick off is going beyond the scope of the merch you’re used to. Beyond pins and stickers and bookmarks. I’d love to work with independent suppliers to curate goods like teas or specialty chocolates. ♥️ What would you love to see more of? 📚 ft. in the photo #renegades#thecourtofwingsandruin#tcowar#acotar#adamjk
#midweekreadingupdate - After finishing up PACHINKO last Monday night, I have not had much time to dive in to a new book. But I did pick up A STUDY IN CHARLOTTE yesterday and have breezed through the first two chapters. I’m a little concerned that I’m not enough of a Sherlock Holmes fan to really enjoy or “get” this one but I’m glad I’m reading alongside @chronicallyreading so she can help me out. 🥰 • • Synopsis: The last thing Jamie Watson wants is a rugby scholarship to Sherringford, a Connecticut prep school just an hour away from his estranged father. But that’s not the only complication: Sherringford is also home to Charlotte Holmes, the famous detective’s great-great-great-granddaughter, who has inherited not only Sherlock’s genius but also his volatile temperament. From the moment they meet, there’s a tense energy between them, and they seem more destined to be rivals than anything else. But when a Sherringford student dies under mysterious circumstances, ripped straight from the most terrifying Sherlock Holmes stories, Jamie can no longer afford to keep his distance. Jamie and Charlotte are being framed for murder. • • #buddyread#astudyincharlotte#sherlockholmes#yalit#yaliterature#currentlyreading#whatimreading#whatimreadingnow#bookstagram#booksofinstagram
『what’s coming up next?』 the hardest, and scariest part about all this is that I’m putting myself out here in hopes that you guys will like what I do. 🍄 There’s plenty of work to be done still before entering the market. We’re starting from scratch and none of it will be easy, but it will be exciting. This is totally new to me, yet I promise to be open and honest with you all throughout the process. 🍄 Upcoming, as I mentioned in the short term goals is building a following (shout out to those of you already following💕🎉). Then I’ll announce the designs for the first set of pins/stickers/patches I have ready. From there I’ll get your feedback and also the manufacture’s input. Once that’s set I’ll launch the kickstarter and we can all wring our hands in nervous waiting. 🍄 It’ll take time. For theses first few steps, I don’t know how long it’ll take. I have dates and numbers in mind but we have to be flexible and unrushed. It’s a practice in patience. If we can wait years for the next installment to a series, then I too can wait for success to be earned on this. 🍄 What about you? What’s something you worry over or are waiting on? 📚 ft. in the photo #doctorwho#theravencycle#trc#thedreamthieves #thegentlemansguidetoviceandvirtue #tggtvav#thewebspinner#thelordofshadows#thedarkartifices theunseeliequeen #herheadisinthenextpictureipromise
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.” I have a lot of feelings about this book😂 but I appreciate how revolutionary is was for its time and Jane Austen’s perspective on gender roles and marriage.
#launchparty . I know that not many of you are from Jersey but if anyone is on the Island and is interested in joining I am having a launch party for Tenebrasco on July 11th and anyone is welcome 😊 . Thank you so much to @coopersjersey for hosting the event, I really appreciate your support! . QOTD: Have you ever attended or hosted a book launch? My priority at the moment is making sure there are mermaid cupcakes at the event 😂🧜🏻♀️
If we’ve ever talked about books before, I’ve absolutely gushed to you about Carry On by @rainbowrowell! I’ve reread it more than any other book, and it’s always made my day better. All the news surrounding the Wayward Son release (and special editions!) has totally sent me into another read through. Can’t wait to get to Chapter 61 again! 😌
『why do you love reading?』 One of my fondest memories from when I was younger is staying up to listen to my father read Harry Potter to me and my mother. He’d always stop at a really good part and say ‘you’re falling asleep over there’ and I’d protest as my eyes slowly closed and got too heavy to reopen. ⚡️ He’d also take me to the library where’d we go through picture books and read funny stories. Later, I was finally able to read Harry Potter by myself. Me, a kid who had horrible spelling and vocab difficulties made the effort to read my first soft cover multi chaptered book. I remember getting so engrossed in The Chamber of Secrets that my desk mates had to get my attention by waving their hands in front of my face. ⚡️ And it’s that feeling of getting so lost in a book that I kept chasing. Now I have a tbr of over 200 and still get a thrill when I pick up something new, wondering if maybe this too will become a favorite. ⚡️ But also, I love the empathy that reading teaches us. The ability to learn different points of views and become more understanding to others in our lives. It kinda feels like a superpower. ⚡️ What about you? Why do you love reading? 📚 ft. in the photo #thecourtofwingsandruin#acowar#acotar #thegentlemansguidetoviceandvirtue #tggtvav#thewebspinner#thelordofshadows#thedarkartifices#theunseeliequeen#onrshop pin
I first read this book a decade ago (or longer) and I have picked it up again because I never finished the series. *GASP* But it’s true. So, I was excited to read it again with fresh, cranky adult eyes. In modern late 2000s New York, a young girl named Clary Fray is living it up with her best friend Simon, going to night clubs for youngins and just being wild, sarcastic, carefree teenagers. On one such night, Clary sees a strange group of people with weird tattoos that she decides to follow, and she witnesses them kill a young man. The thing is, nobody else can see those people and the young man vanishes immediately after being killed. She’s like WTF. Simon is like “is you crazy or something?” and ultimately, she decides that maybe she might be, who knows. However, she runs into this invisible murderer again and she’s like “What the hell are you?” and he tells her about demons and hunters and then she’s like double WTF. But before she can decide what to do or say to the weird invisible not invisible guy, she gets a frantic call from her mother that has her racing home to find her apartment trashed, her mother gone, and a weird demon who tries to eat her. Triple WTF. Clary soon finds out that her entire life has been a lie and there’s more to the world than what she could previously see. Vampires, Werewolves, Fairies, Demons, ALL of it is real, and she learns very quickly that she has deep roots in this hidden world. Her mysterious new invisible not invisible pal is a Shadowhunter: a part human, part angel, full sarcastic smart ass. Dragged into the world of Shadowhunters, Clary learns all about the supernatural world hidden behind a glamour that “mundanes” can’t see. More than that, she finds out that her mother has hidden an object that could change the world if it falls into the wrong hands. With her mother kidnapped, held prisoner, and in a “coma” and Clary’s own memories blocked, Clary must race to find the truth of her past as

Two more texts for #30daysofqueerya! Jack of Hearts and Other Parts by L.C. Rosen (@levacrosen ) and Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin (@thearmisteadmaupin ) are both texts that pull in the idea of embracing who you are. I'd say Tales skews towards the older end of YA, but I read it my freshman year of college and it was the hope I needed to remember that it *is* possible to build a life on your own, away from your family. Jack of Hearts is a bit more scandalous and a lot more mysterious, but a read that I couldn't put down. #lgbtq#lgbtqya#queeryalit#yaliterature#youngadultbooks
QOTD: What's your favorite genre? Why?⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Mine is actually political thriller. Since we write in YA, I like to read as much as possible in our genre, but finding a political thriller for teens is super hard. Apparently teens aren't allowed to be political 🤣🤷🏼My favorite trope is the kind of political thriller that exists in a perfectly normal society until it descends into chaos. Lately, though, I've found myself gravitating toward the fluff with the guaranteed happy ending. I see enough of a poorly written political thriller on TV these days in real time. I read for the escape factor. Is reading like that for you or do you enjoy the hard hitting reflection type story?
I’m full of adrenaline and pissed off, so I do the only thing I can think to do. I flip him off and push past him. I have no clue where I’m going, but I can’t just keep standing there. "'Deviation' or whatever you want to call it? That's just another expression of it. You call it freakish. I call it incredible." ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jay Kristoff, Lifel1k3 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ° ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ° ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dev1at3 came in the mail today but I won't start reading it tonight because I'm already reading too many books at once 😅 I usually don't like to do that but it just kinda happened. I'll start this one after finishing two of my books. ⠀ ° ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let's talk about that cover for a minute: why is it not glossy? Lifel1k3 is super glossy and I love it and Dev1at3 has this matt cover. I'm not mad about it but it does not match super well on the shelf. ONE OF US IS LYING | Reasons to post this book (which has been sitting on my shelf for a year, and which I admittedly still haven’t found time to read) today: 1. It’s my sister’s birthday (woot woot!) and this is her current read! 2. It’s set in high school, and a lot of high schools are wrapping up their last day of school today. A toast to all the teachers and students about to embrace sweet summer freedom! 3. To remind myself that, HEY, I really do wanna read this one sometime soon!!!!

For WIP Wednesday, I thought I'd talk about the one I've been poking at for a couple of years now. It's a YA time travel story and it's taken many forms and changed about a billion times over the course of its life. I know it'll probably change some more before it's finished, but no matter what I do I can't ignore this story. It's gone from a screenplay to a novel and back to a screenplay. We have several other WIPs we're working on, but this one is different. I guess I'm mostly worried I can't do this idea justice. Is anyone else ever worried of this when you have something you know is special?
✿ “The chill air beside the window tasted of snow and starlight. The city’s lights shimmered through patterns of frost. Time seemed to slow. Reflected in the glass, the wavering flames of the candles stood still. Snowflakes hung sparkling in the air. She didn’t know if it was Nathaniel’s doing, or a different kind of magic entirely.” ~Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson ✿ ✿ ✿ ✿Q: What are you currently reading? By the time I post this, I’ll probably have finally finished Sorcery of Thorns. I’ll be sure to post my thoughts soon. ✿

Do you have a favorite Disney Princess? Mine is Belle! . . "Where happily ever after isn't just a promise but a rule..." 👑 🏰 This book has some seriously sinister Disney vibes and I am all for it! . . Ana lives in a futuristic theme park called The Kingdom. Everything in The Kingdom is perfect, including Ana. Ana and her "sisters" are beautiful robots called Fantasists. They are created for the sole purpose of making the guests' dreams come true. They are supposed to be incapable of having real feelings. But Ana starts to fall in love with one of the park workers, Owen. Things take a very dark turn when Owen is murdered and sweet Ana is the one on trial for his murder. . . There were so many compelling concepts in this book. It touches on pollution, climate change, human rights and animal rights in such an interesting way that kept me hooked until the end. Overall, I really liked this book. I thought it had a strong plot with a few good twists. I believe it is intended to be a stand alone book, but I would love to read a sequel or maybe even see this turned into a series. I mean its Disney with a dark twist, whats not to love? . . . #jessrothenburg#summerreading#bookishpost#bookreviewer#booknook#booksaremylife#bookreader#bookreviews#bookrecommendation#bookreview#readersofinstagram#summerreads#bookaesthetic#bookworm#bookworld#bookaddicted#yaliterature#yabooks#ireadya#newbooks#bookcommunity
