#laterpost A tough act to follow speaking third after Mayor Belforte spoke about City government, then Supervisor Gorin spoke about County government. But grateful to Mrs. Cynthia Murray for the opportunity to tie education into local politics, talk about the difference between the SCOE board and school districts, and education innovation to a room full of MBA students at @sonomastateuniversity. SSU’s new Wine Spectator Learning Center is impressive as heck — pretty spiffy! #scoeproud#workforcedevelopment#educationislocalgov

Spent the morning with Partnership Gwinnett at #pgsummit18 with keynote speaker Chairman Charlotte Nash. The 2018 Influence Award recipient. I'm beyond excited to see the incredible economic development projects happening now and in the future in the county where I do business. I'm proud to operate my business in #gwinnett. #softskillsspeaker#workforce#futureofwork#careerblogger#workforcedevelopment @partnershipgwinnett @exploregwinnett
Program update: Lisa is advancing into her 90 days in our Single Moms at Work Program. Thus far, she’s learned basic donation processing, research skills & visual merchandising. I believe her critical lessons stem from being in an environment with people that trust & don’t give up on her. Her improved confidence & safety will not be listed on her resume, but shows through in her problem solving, increased patience & reduced worrying. #shesawomanfirst Help us continue this powerful work for low-income mothers throughout our bay. Support our annual Giving campaign, link in bio.
#spcdc would like to thank Amoi Holmes of Styled by Amoi for stopping by our Next Step Workforce Development Program and sharing her “Dress for the Job You Want" workshop with our students. A Paterson resident and business owner, Amoi shared her best dressed tips on how to make the most out of a starting work wardrobe on a minimal budget. A great confidence builder for folks seeking to get back into the workforce. Thank you, Amoi! #nextstep#workforcedevelopment#wfnj#wioa#careerdaywkshp @passaiccountyonestop https://www.pinterest.com/StyledbyAmoi/

This week on #teammemberthursday, we will be highlighting Lora Steele! Lora currently serves as an officer on our board and is incredibly active in making sure our coworking space fosters collaboration and creativity. Interested in Sponsoring Level Two Inc's mission? Lora was also the driving force in creating our Sponsorship Packet. Her marketing knowledge along with her passion for workforce and economic development has made her an invaluable resource and an amazing part of the team. Check out Lora's answers to our fun questions below: 1. What book are you currently reading? "Castle of Eagles" by Mark Felton. It's an amazing story of some 50-60 something high-ranking Allied commanders who are captured by the Italians in WW2. They are holed away in a castle trying to escape. It's pretty shocking what they're capable of doing. I'm also reading "Gentlemen of the Road" by Michael Chabon, but I've been trying to get through the first 30 pages of that book for years now, so I'm not sure it counts :) 2. If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only take one thing, what would it be? McGyver. Oh sorry, Bear Grylls. I guess it is 2018... 3. Tell us about a place that has special meaning to you. About 3 years ago my parents bought 10 acres of wooded land out in Knightstown. When they first bought it, there was only a small camper on the property. We spent a lot of time there before they started building and we always had a lot of fund wandering around, clearing some small trails, playing with the dogs in the creek and just being together. I'm fortunate in that I've been able to visit a lot of places that are very special to me, but this one is extra special. #coworking#smallbusiness#economicdevelopment#hendrickscounty#indiana#entrepreneurs#workforcedevelopment
The ability to think in an organized, disciplined manner under stress is often the differentiator between solid business decisions and “shoot-from-the-hip” inconsistent outcomes. Our course teaches the process of #criticalthinking – a structured approach to gathering and analyzing information and using reasoning skills to assimilate data, knowledge, past experience and precedent, risk assessment and opinion and then develop the best solution to resolve a problem. The Transit Authority of River City ( @ridetarc ) proudly moves the taxpayers of Louisville to and from work everyday. Of the 55,000 daily riders we serve, 63% are going to work and another 22% to school. #ridetarc is #workforcedevelopment and #economicdevelopment
