I posted before about my first @runthroughuk race in 2015, and I feel super lucky to have been able to run another one today - 🌞 Chase the Sun 5k/10k at Wimbledon. It was cooler than it has been this week, and the sun did a good job of hiding. ⠀ ⠀ These events are always first class, in a major park, and have a great community feel. The motivational signs were new (to me) and there were signs along the trail as well. The bling 🏅 is super cute. I lost my Greenwich Park medal, so will just have to find an excuse to travel the next time there’s a run!⠀ ⠀ 🏃♀️ All roads lead to the Houston Half and 10k! Even the ones involving a 1-hour sweaty Tube ride back to your hotel. (Sorry, London commuters!) 🏃♀️ ⠀ #runhouston#runwithme#runlondon#womenrunning#runthroughuk#londonrunners#txbeefteam#houstonhalf#houston10k#nightrun#cannizaropark#5k#halfmarathontraining
It’s #nationaltriathlonweek and I haven’t participated all week, but today is run day, so I gotta show it some love. ❤️🏃♀️✨ • Running has given me so many things, including confidence, friends, and (of course) shiny medals. 😂 Running keeps me sane and I’m so glad I decided in 2015 that I wanted to run a half marathon. I thought it was going to be one and done, but now I’m on track to hit 50 half marathons next year!! 😁 • I am grateful that the triathlon ends in the run - I know no matter what I can get through a run. And just look at the smile on my face in these photos - clearly I love running!! • Photo 1: WDW Marathon 2019, mile 25.5 Photo 2: Treasure Coast Half Marathon 2019, mile 12.7 Photo 3: Akron Half Marathon 2018, mile 🤷♀️ • Each of these races was special to me for different reasons. ✨ Happy run day! • #runnergirl#whatsyourfinishline#triweek
An impromptu decision to go off-road with no route planned meant we got lost after a path was blocked but we battled on through mud, past waterfalls and over hills on the BEST off-road run I've been on in ages!! We were out for much longer than planned but it was great practice for next Sunday's run. #sixmilesintwohours 🙄 #trailsareforfun ⛰️ #homebeforedark 🏃🏻♀️😂
Got 4 miles in yesterday, followed by a super sore neck, and a migraine (which like never happens) so I spent the day resting, loaded up on water and feel much better today! Snuck in another 3 this morning, chased around the troops all afternoon and now we’re getting ready for Toy Story 4! Summer, we love you! #motherrunner#betterthanyesterday#boymom
Happy birthday Maki, God knows if it wasn’t for exceptional women like you some of us would have never thought we could be able to even make it to the startline of Comrades. You are are such inspiration. Guys in 2017 I had the privilege of seeing Maki’s story, DM’d her about #cmiyc and she told me to get started in Durbs... did just that and started a running community in Durbs that later became #rundbnza ❤️ which is now a lovely platform of young women who share and encourage each other about running. • • Besides that, Maki’s story touched me personally when I met her during Comrades 2017. I remember that moment quite well as I had never even thought I would do Comrades, as at that point I had only finished one marathon (kanzima), so for me that was impossible...well that was the case until I saw her and her girls on the road! It suddenly became so possible, it was no longer a dream but a goal I could attain, she made me see that I (yes even lazy me) could do it. 2 years later, I have my back to back and I honestly owe it to her and other women like her such as @masheledee and @cherrie_e_fit who keep raising the bar for some of us who follow in their giant footsteps, you ladies are beyond inspiring.... @shahiedathungo we are beyond lucky to have you in these running streets, you are a women of virtue, one that is worth celebrating every single day #wcw#hbd#womenrunning#comradesmarathon
#quercorrercomigoemsantacatarina #urubici
Posted @withrepost • @tattookerry The best thing about the future is it comes one day at a time. Hey look now- all that time passed by. Did you spend it wisely? Choosing to chase or choosing to waste it? Rest is good but eventually you need to get up if you want change. Man I feel good and my runs feel solid, whether I’m running a quicker pace or slower pace I love it and where I’m at. It has taken a lot of choices- not just daily but throughout the day as well. Last year I dreamed of getting here. And here we are. The biggest change is growth in my confidence. It’s not just about the cheering and finish times- or the loud finish lines, but also those silent moments; out there alone in the morning or at night, working hard and trying to hang on to a rep. Believing in myself for 2 minutes or 2 hours- It’s only just beginning! Thanks so much @coffeyrunner for your guidance with running! @mile2marathon I truly appreciate the training and plans and I’ve learned so much! #onedayatatime#fastisfun#transformation#mile2marathon#weightlossjourney#ididit#believeinyourself#dreambig#goaldigger#herewego#nevergiveup#runner#run#lovetorun#gothedistance#womenrunning#inspiringwomenrunners#running
So honored to have had the opportunity to be on the @rambling_runner podcast. I have loved hearing all the stories of different runners of all levels on how the sport has changed their life, or taught them. • It makes me so emotional to talk about my struggle with Alopecia for most of my life and thinking back to the extreme measures I’d go to to hide it, or the way I would let people treat me. But, I am thankful for the gift of Alopecia. It’s been anything but easy, but has made me a better and stronger person. Running helped me to accept, embrace and love my Alopecia and bald head. I don’t always have the best race, or PR but getting back up, continuing to fight and improve makes me a runner. Just like in life and running it’s not how hard you get hit, but how hard you fight back. Looking ahead to many exciting races and opportunities! I’ve set some big goals for myself and am up for the challenge! • Thank you again Matt for this surreal opportunity! You can check out the link in my bio for the full podcast. ⠀ 4 K F O R C A N C E R 💛💙⠀ DAY 10 ⠀ Las Vegas, CA ➡️ St. George, UT⠀ ⠀ 🏃🏽♀️Personal mileage: 19.2km (12mi)⠀ 🛤Team mileage: 288km (180mi)⠀ 🏔Total elevation gain: 9971 ft⠀ 👭Running buddy: Caitlin⠀ 🏆Donation shout out:⠀ Josine Kuijk, Ali Johnstone, and Micaela Vickers⠀ 💕Today I dedicate my miles to: ⠀ Leighton Hailey van Leeuwen, Gabe, and Haley Vega⠀ ⠀ Yesterday, we ran another 12 miler through the desert and 102F (39C) to cross 2 more state lines (Arizona, Utah) and even a time zone! Stopped at the beautiful Valley of Fire State Park to see more red rocks. Went to bed early due to increased PCS symptoms and the bright sun really wore us out. ⠀ ⠀ MORE ABOUT Haley: ⠀ “Two and a million sounds like incredible odds to most people, but being diagnosed with toxic epidermal necrolysis has made such probabilities a reality for me. My future courses of action include managing my day to day symptoms caused by my toxic epidermal necrolysis. Dealing with these invisible illnesses is hard, and in the future I will need both eye surgeries and kidney treatments to help make my life easier. All of this was caused by an incorrect dosage of a mood stabilizer that I didn't even need to be prescribed. Many "black box" labels are put on medications, meaning they can cause Stevens Johnson's syndrome, or the more severe toxic epidermal necrolysis. I feel like more people need to be made aware of my disease because although it's deemed "rare", the feeling of burning alive and watching your skin fall away with a gentle touch is something that is hard to forget. Being sick can be exhausting but surrounding yourself with enough love makes life worth it. It's all about finding out what you love and finding those people that make you feel beautiful. Just like Illona, traveling will always be my best medicine and memories from road trips make any sick day a little more bearable.”⠀ ⠀ THANK YOU SO MUCH Josine, Ali,
👉🏻”Your setback is just a setup for your comeback.” Whether we have a bad day or a bad race, what matters is how we respond to it! Get back up, brush off your knees & try, try again🏆👑👑 . . 5 steady miles yesterday had me feeling like a million bucks!🤩💯 Back to the grind again today, let’s see how far these legs feel like taking me🙏🏻 Happy Wednesday friends! #runviews#portland#runningfortwo#runoregon **Quote: Steve Harvey**

Opted for extra sleep this morning, as over the last year, I’ve tried to make sleep a priority for proper recovery! Definitely felt good to get a full 8.5 hours of sleep but I payed for it in running in the warmer temps ☀️💦☀️💦☀️💦 But I went into my speed work with the mindset of just doing the best I can with where I’m at today! But proud of the workout and effort I was able to put in, even with the heat/high temps 🙌🏼🏃🏻♀️🙌🏼🏃🏻♀️🙌🏼🏃🏻♀️ • 2 mile warm-up • 1 mile Hard (coaches advice for pace was to just “see what I could do” 😁😁😁) • 3 minute recovery • 5 x 90 seconds at 5k effort • 90 second recovery between each 90 second 5k effort • 3 minutes easy • 800 meters....just see “what I can do” 🔥😁 7.5 miles total and super proud of my effort!!!!!
Premium träningsdag 🌟🌟 70min 🚴♀️🚴♀️ och 35min 🏃♀️🏃♀️Åh vad jag njuter 🥳😇 över att vara frisk, hel och stark. En sådan ynnest! 🙏 - Funderar på Kristianstad triathlon 11aug. Någon som kört / ska köra?!
There’s lots of pretty people here in fancy clothes... and then there’s me in spandex trying to run in a city that’s mostly steps. 🏃🏼♀️💦😆 . So, my 9 mile planned workout with speed turned into 2 miles of 1,200 stairs with 550 ft elevation. Close enough. 🤷🏼♀️😂 . Positano is stunning with the beautiful hillside cascade of colorful houses and tons of pink flowers 🌺 ... and stairs. My kids counted 638 stairs up to our AirBnB. 😯 However, it is worth it. These are the best views we have ever had on vacation! The second photo/video is from our balcony. 😍
Another four solo road miles today. Nothing exciting to report, but I did have time to reflect on the last few months of #ultratraining as I approach my biggest mileage weekend before taper time.... In the past when I’ve been following a training plan, for whatever distance, I’ve got stressed out about it, began to not look forward to runs and had to be reminded of what I enjoy about running. This time round, for my first ultra, it’s been completely different. I may be feeling exhausted right now, BUT I’ve still enjoyed my running, I’ve not put too much pressure on myself and got stressed when things haven’t gone quite to plan and injuries have reared their ugly head, and I’ve enjoyed not being a solo runner all the time and made the most of running with others, something I was never confident enough to do. I’m not really sure why this all crept into my head on today’s run, or why this time it’s been different, but I do know that whatever happens in 2 and a half weeks time on The Ridgeway I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed the vast majority of training miles that will have got me to the start-line, and I’m going to do my upmost to enjoy the 100km that will lay ahead of me 💚. #lovetorun#runhappy#headspace#thismumruns#rtts2019#dreambelieveachieve#run#runner#running#trailrun#trailrunner#trailrunning
Running come back Milestone #1 I ran a full kilometer without stopping - YES!!! Today wasn’t easy. Today was really hard. Probably not the best idea to fuel myself with coffee, an apple and half a large bag of M&Ms and then run outside during the hottest part of the day, but hey sometimes that’s just how it happens. My foot is feeling ok. Only slight discomfort while I’m running, which is totally normal according to my PT. So far this girl is 100% happy with my progress. . . . . 5km total 6 mins walk 5x(1R, 1W) 1km run 5x(1W, 1R) 6 mins walk
As a means of combatting plastic pollution, Canada is moving to ban dozens of single-use plastics as soon as 2021. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced in a speech that he and his government are planning on phasing out several forms of common plastic waste, such as water bottles, single-use bags, coffee cup lids, and straws! #werisewomen#bansingleuseplastics#planetorplastic

ATMUNG 💨. 🙏🏼 #teamlaufliebe
☀️ H A P P Y • M I L E S ☀️! Loved this 10 (!)K today. Yes... Finally 10k again ✔️🙌! #postpartumjourney Dat was zweten vandaag 💦! #runningmom
