Every day, we feature stories of female founders and how they started their companies. 😊 Today we’re looking at Urska Srsen, co-founder of @bellabeat - a company that makes a line of health trackers and other devices disguised as jewelry. ⠀⠀⠀ 🎓 Urska graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts and it had always been her dream to be a sculptor. ⠀⠀⠀ 💻 During her last year of college, she met her future co-founder and fiancé, Sandro Mur, who would change her whole career direction to building tech startups. ⠀⠀⠀ 🤰 With Urska's mom being an OB/GYN, and an interest in healthcare and designing for women, they wanted to develop a remote monitoring system that would enable patients to do small routine check-ups at home. ⠀⠀⠀ ❓They soon realised that patients didn’t know very much about self-tracking or how to use the devices, and decided to pivot. ⠀⠀⠀ 👶 They scaled down their project and focused on the emotional part of the data - listening to unborn babies' heartbeat. Their first product would be an app and device that help pregnant moms listen, record and share their babies' heartbeats. ⠀⠀⠀ 🙌 After the successful launch of their first product, they decided to move forward and create something that would be available for all women, not just expecting mothers. ⠀⠀⠀ 🌿 They created a wearable health tracker that tracks women’s reproductive cycle, activity, sleep quality and stress level. It's called LEAF and was popular right away.

Liza Baker believes in upcycled food and recipes too! ⠀ We are so excited to be collaborating with Liza; she is one of our Kuel Coaches. Liza graciously sent over her 'Upcycled' chicken stock recipe so we could share it with all our KUEL women.⠀ ⠀ You can find the recipe on the Kuel Life site.⠀ ⠀ Just to whet your appetite; it's super easy to throw together and you can feel good about being a bit green - as she suggests you hold on to the tops of carrots, onions, and the like.⠀
