It's #❤️myfarm Saturday and I'm playing along with @the_red_barn_farm and @camoandfeathers . The theme is Summer Green and you guys.... I HAVE A PEACH 🍑🍑🍑. I bought two fruit trees in the fall, one peach and one plum, and I DID not expect to get any fruit for a few YEARS. Not only did my peach tree look horrible this spring, I really thought half of it was dead. Last week my mother in law was over and she's like- I can't believe you have peaches! 🍑 Say what!???? I hadn't even noticed! I ran over to the tree and 5 little peaches are on it! Nothing on the plum tree sadly, but that's ok. I would love to plant some more fruit trees and berry bushes in the future, and I think this is a good sign. 🍑🍒🍐🍏 🍑 Do you grow fruit!? 🍑 @mapletwissfarm @heartquisthollowfarm @sknaturaljourney want to play along!?
As you know, I can be quite accident prone and like most farmers I have a high regard for the safety of my animals but give little thought to my own❗️ . But I was shocked to learn that farmers are 18 times more likely than other in industries to suffer fatalities as a result of their work. It’s time to grab the goat by the horns and take our safety more seriously! ✅ . This week @spenergynetworks is supporting the agricultural industry to promote #farmsafetyweek2019 and help us to think about the electrical dangers which we face on a daily basis ⚠️ . Share potential dangers in the comments, and raise awareness! You don’t have to be a farmer to do this! 👇 . Even if you aren’t a farmer, you can help farmers by reporting damaged or broken powerlines to the national 105 emergency helpline! 📳 Find more information here by clicking the link in my bio ☝️ . #farmsafety#ad

we lost power last night and DTE still hasn’t posted an update of when it will be back on 🙄 what does this mean for the farm? not much really. luckily it’s warm enough that we don’t need heat lamps. animals have plenty of feed, grass and hay. the only main concern is water, especially with how hot and humid it’s been the past 24 hours. (oh and all my food in the fridge/freezer) *buying a generator may be in our near future* anyone else loose power last night?
🌸 Handpicked, trimmed and bundled for you this morning. In case you made an uh-oh and need some help. Joke. Just for some pure joy on your counter or someone else’s. I stuck some rosemary in these this week, for some added holy crap this smells good factor. Farmstand open y’all! Head on by and if you’re not coming to mine, hit up your local farmers market! Happy Saturday!
Our #❤️myfarm theme today is Summer Green! I am excited I found something so great to share today.🐸. My youngest and I are in the garden this morning picking potatoes, watering flowers, and checking green beans. We found this little green cutie in the water table. Can you spot him? @theredshedhomestead @quirkyfarming #theyarejustwee
I love how yarrow turns pink, as it.. ages? When it gets more shade? Where the soil is more acidic? I actually don’t know, and the Oracle can’t tell me either from a cursory search. Can you? It doesn’t seem to do it on the first blooms, but not every plant does it. These are all true Achillea millefolium, and aren’t in visibly close proximity to hybridized yarrow, though there are a few wild stands around the woods, but those are also, the same, native white yarrow. If you can be the first to explain this to me with sources, I’ll send you a little farm surprise!
