#repost @thecloudybayshed ・・・ Perfect day for a taste of beautiful Te Wahi 2015! Cloudy Bay has been making Pinot Noir from Central Otago since 2010. Te Wahi - aka “The Place” in Māori - 2015 vintage is a blend of grapes harvested from our two special Central Otago vineyards sites. Northburn brings structure and tension to the wine, while Calvert, in Bannockburn, contributes the violet-like perfume and a focused generosity. Together they complement each other, combining to deliver a beautifully balanced wine. #tewahi2015#cloudybayincentralotago#thecloudybayshed#winetasting#comeandvisitus
I’ve had an insane wave of feeling homesick lately. Only to be cheered up when walking into my favorite wine shop and greeted with “ so what are we cooking tonight?” 🍴❤️ they suggested a dry rosé for my turkey meatloaf 💕 When riding out waves of loneliness the most unexpected comforts are truly treasured💛 #theyknowmesowell
#howto : Develop A Wine List that Sells Wine?⠀ Are you selling as much #wine as you would like? If not, the problem could be with your wine list. The goal of any wine list should not be to showcase the wine knowledge & experience of your restaurant – it should be offering & presenting great #wines that pair well with the food dishes being served every night. In other words, your wine list should not be a “museum exhibit” of vintage wines that nobody really orders – it should be a living, breathing document that responds to customer tastes & preferences. With that in mind, here’s a quick guide to developing a #winelist that sells wine.⠀ ⠀ 1. Understand the 80/20 Rule.⠀ The 80/20 Rule suggests that the Top 20% of the wines on your wine list will account for 80% of the total sales. ⠀ ⠀ 2. Create a pricing strategy that helps to sell wine.⠀ ⠀ 3. Use customer feedback/ suggestions to make better wine selections.⠀ ⠀ 4. Change the presentation layer of your wine list.⠀ ⠀ 5. Support any new wines added to your wine list with staff training.⠀ ⠀ 6. Benchmark the competition & adapt your wine list accordingly.⠀ ⠀ To read the article in detail, visit the 'Blog - Insights' section from our website.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #wineblog#mondayreads#instaread#instareading#instareads#goodread#tips#businesstips#menu#winemenu#winegram#winestagram#wineinstagram#instabusiness#sommeliers#sommelier#winegeek#winesommelier#sommelierlife#somm

Starters, grilled fish, light and fresh foods." (fozgourmet.com) "The production is based on about 12 hectares of vineyards, planted on clay-limestone soil in Sangalhos, in the Bairrada region. The result is approximately 70,000 bottles per year, between sparklings and red wines."
