www.fallingbright.com - FINE WINE ONLINE 714-858-2422 2015 Dalla Valle Maya | Oakville, Napa Valley California 750ml The 2015 Maya shows the great potential of the vintage. Its red-purple hue belies the wine's brightness and fresh aromatic quality, with tones of fresh-cut strawberry, cardamom, and flint. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc exhibits a combination of depth, richness, and laser-like focus, delivering a rush of red and black fruit flavors, along with notes of cured meats and salted black licorice. The texture is soft and silky, but at the same time powerful and incredibly lengthy. This vintage of Maya is accessible today, but will absolutely continue to develop, and will last decades in the bottle.| Dalla Valle Vineyards ...surprisingly powerful and tightly wound. Time in the glass allows the tannins to relax just enough for the fruit to gradually emerge...still very primary in its expression of fruit. Even so, the wine's heady, flamboyant personality is very much on display. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, licorice, lavender and exotic spice overtones gradually develop in the glass, but it will be years before the 2015 enters its prime. | 97+ points, Vinous The polish and depth to this wine is extraordinary for the vintage. Full body, super refined and tight yet generous and exciting. Chocolate, walnut and berry. Goes on for minutes. Superb for the vintage. Better in 2020 but already so wonderful. | 98 points, James Suckling Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Maya Proprietary Red Wine opens with sweet plums, spice box and kirsch notes with nuances of vanillin, cocoa powder, dried herbs and loam. Medium to full-bodied, soft, approachable and very sexy even at this youthful stage, it has a long, perfumed finish. This was tasted as a barrel sample. | 98 points, Wine Advocate #fallingbright#winedrinker#winetasting#somm#sommelier#winetime#winelover#wines#wineoclock#drinkme#wineshop#wineonline#ceo#cfo#luxury#attorney
A wine rep’s last tribute to a sample bottle: Thank you for being amazing - Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage 2016 Alain Graillot founded his domaine in Crozes-Hermitage in 1985, and rapidly became one of the most in-demand producers in the Northern Rhone for his expressive Syrah. Graillot works organically, harvesting fruit by hand and fermenting in whole cluster. He chooses to age his wines in used barrels, one to three-years-old, purchased from Burgundy’s best estates. . Wine at first smells funky - pickle kind of funk. Yes, pickle kind of funk. After giving it more time to breathe/ swirl your glass more, the inky, violet, peppery aromas gradually come out. On palate, it is such an elegant Syrah of medium, or even medium minus body. Again, a lot a lot of violet and light black pepper on palate. Acidity is high but not overwhelming. The light funk is super intriguing. It might make you frown at first sniff, but for curious drinkers like us, its enigmatic aroma would soon bring you back to the wine, and make you take one sip after another. . Last 6 cases in TO. PM me for it. Or, drink it in @therosedalediner . And yes, @kylevolkes is right, Graillot is making Syrah in Morocco too. Pretty random but it’s Syrah, it’s his domain.
