- 🔥Unhealthy vs Healthy Fats🔥 Tag a friend! . Now I know I rant on keto. I know. The diet primarily based on fat and hates on carbs is not my forte. That being said fats are super important to our health! Fat is actually essential to the human body for many reasons such as vitamin transport, energy, and hormone production to name a few and it is vital we eat it every single day! However, within that fat consumption, we need to be mindful of where that fat is coming from. Foods like butter and margarine are not great choices compared to say an avocado. Lets look at this. From a caloric standpoint, 100g of avocado is significantly less in calories than 100g of butter. While well aware that no one is really going to have 100g of butter in one sitting, the point of its caloric density remains. Butter also has loads of trans fat which is incredibly unhealthy for the human body where as an avocado has none. Avocados have more fiber and more protein than butter per calorie and, along with the incredible amount of micronutrients and phytonutrients, are much more nutrient-dense and overall healthier!
