This is my journey. Allow me to explain. I am on a journey to optimal health. The last decade of my life has been an absolute rollercoaster. My weight has gone up and down, my motivation has been sky high at times and nonexistent at times. I’ve cried from heartbreak and I’ve been elated in love. I’ve struggled with my health...emotionally and physically. My dreams have been shattered. I’ve felt lost and confused. I’ve felt alone. Everything that has happened to me has led to this journey. I’ve learned and grown so much. I worked on myself. I began to retrain my subconscious mind. I fueled my mind with positive thoughts with the hopes of revamping my mindset. I’ve worked hard to get to where I am yet I still have so long to go. I now want to alter myself physically. I truly believe the most beneficial way to get to physical fitness is through a plant-based diet. I am at my best when I’m plant-based. I’m not in pain. I have high energy. I just feel damn good. I’ve lost weight before. About 5 years ago I went on a strict diet, mostly chicken. I lost a lot of weight and worked out and was fit. (left photo) I counted all my calories obsessively and I was starving all the time. I constantly asked myself, “When will this be over??” I missed food. It was completely not sustainable. I was just tired of being hungry. I ended up quitting and gaining weight. I learned about plant-based about a year and half ago. I am so passionate about it but haven’t been consistent. My goal is to achieve SUSTAINABLE fitness by using plants as fuel and without feeling like I’m starving myself. I want people to understand the true power of a plant-based diet. It goes far beyond weight loss. Once you are putting real food into your body you will be set up to thrive and become who you were meant to be. I try to explain it but I decided the best way to explain is to lead by example. So this is it. This is my journey to optimal health. 🌱 #plantbased#plantstrong
Its amazing what happens to your body when you start being mindful what you put into it... I didnt stop eating meat because it was trendy or for animal rights or anything. I honestly stopped eating meat because I moved in with my best friend who is already vegitarian. Then I realized that my blood type is best suited with a meatless diet. All of the other benefits were just bonuses for me. Because I feel great! And honestly eating meat now hurts my body so much I can never go back. (But I can get down with some sushi or salmon!) When k moved in with my best friend i weighed a whopping 189 lbs. I am now down to 155 lbs in just 11months. The only thing I changed was not eating meat! #imabeliever

Made some sushi and tried out this fantastic Korean sauce from @momolongplay with soy sauce. To make sushi rice, I do 1 part short grain, good sushi rice to 1 part water. Bring to a boil and simmer until fully cooked. Take about 1/4 cup of rice vinegar (for 1 cup sushi rice) and simmer with a couple tablespoons of sugar and a bit of salt in a pan until the sugar dissolves; add this to the sushi rice, now its sticky! Then you just put it out on some nori and add in fillings! I added in baked sweet potato and cream cheese. You could do cucumber, carrots, avocado, radish. It's extremely inexpensive for a meal to make at home, and fun to do ✨🌿🍴🍱🍥 #vegan#veganism#veg#govegan#sushi#whatthehealth#plantpowered#plantpower#plantbased#vegansofinstagram#vegansofig#cowspiracy#healthy
First proper homemade meal in almost a week! Simple vegan dinner of beans with tomatoes and tons of spices! It's a classic Egyptian staple but usually mashed and eaten with Arabic bread but I don't have bread so will just enjoy it bare 😀
Row7 seeds are undoing so much of the negative selective breeding us humans have inflicted upon unsuspecting fruits and veggies. Food should taste GOOD! And be a positive experience for soil and taste buds alike!
December 1st. Shoutout to @juicenashville at @hendersonvilleproduce for making such a delicious seasonal cold-pressed juice. I was able to enjoy sipping on it and really savored it–keep it coming back year to year!😊👍🏻 – HOWEVER, while I would easily highly recommend this particular juice to anyone who doesn’t have to worry about food intolerances, mast cell activation disorder/syndrome, gastroparesis that requires a feeding tube, or other such health issues, we are fairly confident we narrowed it down to this juice as the culprit for the whole “throwing up my GJ tube...oh wait, that’s supposed to be in my small intestine but it’s in my mouth” adventure (yeah...) on the 1st. I did two things I shouldn’t have: I tried to drink more volume than I know my body can handle, even over the course of 2 hours, AND, my body hasn’t been exposed to any of those spices in nearly 2 years. We’re fairly certain it was a reaction to one of the spices that triggered the completely unexpected vomiting spell that ended in the EMTs trying to break down our door before mom and dad got here. The ambulance ride was not fun (duh). The on-call IR team was great at getting there at 9pm. Our pastor so kindly came and sat with Rog as mom and dad went to get things I needed from the house, and to clean up after Lucy, who was terrified of the EMTs and stretcher. (I was unable to leave my bending-over-the-toilet position because if I tried to breathe or move, I vomited. Thought I had pills stuck in my throat. Nope…) – Once we got to the ER (Rog had to leave the annual church Christmas program and meet us down there), it was actually the shortest ER trip we’ve ever had, at just 3 hours. Once the ER doc had me open my mouth and saw the tube coming out, she immediately called the IR team, who was great, as mentioned above. They got there, got me, and did a really quick switch of my old tube to a new one. – On the plus side, I was due to have it exchanged in a
I just realized today that it has been almost two years since I went vegan. Honestly, it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Here are some of the transformations that I have had since making the switch ✨ I healed from Lyme disease ✨ I no longer need to take thyroid medication (which I had been on for almost 17 years!) ✨ My skin has improved greatly ✨ My bloating has decreased and my digestion has improved ✨ My asthma is gone ✨ I have a ton of energy ✨ My joints no longer hurt ✨ My periods are no longer debilitating ✨ I look forward to cooking (before I went vegan I couldn’t even boil water!) and love that I have found passion in my life ✨ There is absolutely no turning back!!! I cannot wait to see what my vegan future holds…✨✨✨
“We will be much closer to a peaceful world when we extend our circle of compassion to embrace everyone, not just those who are the same sex, race and SPECIES as us.” Repost from @jamesaspey - “The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men.” -Leonardo da Vinci
Come join my free private group below & make some “art” with me! . When I first started this Instagram account, I had no idea which direction it would go. It started as just a personal photo album of mine with a lot of personal travel pictures & embarrassingly bad food photos. Over the last year, it has transformed into something I genuinely love to do & is growing faster than I ever expected. I feel like I have such a wonderfully supportive, enthusiastic, & eager group of “Farmacy Revolutionaries” here, that I’m frequently overwhelmed with gratitude. . I feel honored to be able to share my style of elevated whole-food, plant-based cuisine as well as my feelings about cooking, healthy eating, & even about myself. “I can’t find balance between work and working out” ☝🏽do you truly believe that? Have you tried everything? 🙇🏽♀️ How committed are you to your goals really? 👀 Have you tried⤵️: 1️⃣ Working out before work (yes that’s a 5am workout, but it’s a 5am wake up call to finally stop making excuses and struggling to lose fat when the answer is right in front of you). 2️⃣ Working out on the weekends so that’s two less days you have to workout during the weekend while your busy AF with work. 3️⃣ Working out on your lunch break. (It’s possible, it’s quick and then it’s done) 4️⃣ Working out late at night, after the busy gym rush. (Then you can sleep in more in the morning). The most stressful time to workout, is right after work. 💤 And especially if it’s not working for you, then choose another time and try it out for a week or two. ⏰ There are MANY ways to get to your goal weight. The goal is to find what works for you and your life. What is your favorite time to workout and why? ⤵️ comment below! #balance
. Albert Einstein was one of the most influential scientists of the 20th century, most famous for his E=mc^2 equation. However, few know of Einstein’s views on vegetarianism. Again, I recommend you read up on it. . Over 60 years after his time and many still don’t realise that humans aren’t designed to be carnivores😕 #supervegancoach
🎄 What’s green and red and delicious AF?? T.L.T.’s!!! 🍅🥬 • If you didn’t know, TLT is short for Tempeh Lettuce Tomato (kinda like BLT). Tempeh is a fermented soybean protein that’s been bound into a solid piece. Find it in the refrigerated aisle at your grocery store. I use @lightlifefoods! • To make this TLT: - Slice your tempeh into inch thick slices, poke with a knife or fork, and pour a marinade on top consisting of (1c hot water, cumin, paprika, soy sauce, dash of liquid smoke, chili powder, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder). Whisk mixture and let tempeh marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight. - Bake at 400 for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through. Coat the tempeh in the marinade before putting in oven. - Toast your favorite bread, spread @traderjoes vegan pesto + vegan mayo on one side, and mash some avocado 🥑 on the other piece + garlic salt. - Add sliced tomato 🍅 + lettuce 🥬 & enjoy!!! • Did you make this? What did you think? How do you make yours? Comment below!! 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
I never thought I’d go back to being vegan. I kept telling myself it’d be way too hard. The veganized foods tasted terrible. I’d be looked at differently... In the past 5 years, it’s crazy how the options have changed. It’s normal to find vegan items at the store now, even at Target & Walmart. Could you do it? What’s stopping you?

Everything changed for me when I went to college. _ I was a competitive swimmer growing up, constantly in a rigorous swimming program, so the closest I ever got to experimenting with diets was competitions with my teammates of how much pasta we could eat at pasta dinners. _ I quickly realized after that chapter ended that I wanted my body to look differently. I had no idea what to do - how to exercise or how to eat for my goals (1st goal ever: feel confident enough to wear a tank top to the gym). _ Fast forward 6 years of a lot of education - both formal and informal - and I’ve got a pretty good idea. 😏 _ First things first - “eating healthy” is not the same as eating for your goals. _ But before even getting into THAT.. what the heck does “healthy” even mean? _ That’s for YOU to decide. To me, healthy equates to nutrient-dense.. we need large amounts of macronutrients, but we also need micronutrients for our human chemical reactions to run smoothly (think of micronutrients - vitamins and minerals - like the aides to the processes in which food is converted to energy). _ The #1 thing I’m so grateful to have learned is how the heck to eat for my goals. There’s so much BS info out there that leaves us ladies so dang OVERWHELMED! _ Take it one bite at a time.. pun intended 😜 because I’ve been in your shoes, and it’ll all eventually click. _ What’s a nutrition question you can’t seem to get a clear answer on??? 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽Let’s sort through the BS together.
