My little recovery patient Jasper is doing well after his hip replacement on Tuesday at Espanola Animal Hospital. Morning ice application, massage and meds ✔️ starts our 12-14 week recovery with him. This little dude has/had severe hip dysplasia in both hips to the point where he was painful, “bunny hopping” and unable to jump on anything - diagnosed after I had him x-rayed/examined for another issue. I highly recommend getting your pet checked. You may be overlooking a condition that can be treated/managed before it deteriorates to severe. Jasper will be 8 years old in June and is on the road to living what very well may be the next half of his life pain free. If it’s surgical, it needs to be fixed. Not managed with a brace. Not managed with anti-inflammatories & pain meds. Not euthanized and certainly not left untreated.
We got a package from the States and there was #molly 's gifts as well. She always know her gifts and loves them and she even sleeps with it (only one because she already killed one 😆)
Digit: I'm home! I'm also farting quite a bit from the anesthesia. Mom bought me a new cone and this one has a nice padded collar so it doesn't dig into my neck, but is still stiff so I can't scratch my eyes accidentally. I'm still a little bit floaty from the drugs, but Mom promised me chicken porridge tonight.
