Something I feel that I have neglected recently is my mental wellbeing ☁️ ⠀⠀ I’ve been using more TV as a form of escapism instead of reading, I’ve stopped writing in my weekly diary that used to help keep me accountable and I’m doing zero mindfulness/meditation. ⠀⠀ These are all things I know have worked well for me in the past so why have I stopped?! ⠀⠀ Just like anything, it was a form of habit, but when I start feeling bad about myself I don’t always want to face it. Instead of admitting I was failing with this side, I’ve ignored it. ⠀⠀ So I’m pledging to change that, I’m going to finish my emotional intelligence book this week (that I downloaded in March 🙈) 📚 and make sure I’m reading on my commute. Getting out of that funk 🙃 ⠀⠀ I’ve seen a few other people writing about being in a bit of a funk recently and thought maybe it’s not just me! ⠀⠀ It can be super hard treading into unknown territory which is what I’m trying to do, building myself a brand and a name in a completely new area and trying to carve what I believe I want to help people and knowing I can help but not really sure how to get that message across. ⠀⠀ Top tip: Just do. ⠀⠀ Even if it’s really small. 💟 We all know the phrase "When you look good, you feel good!" but I disagree ❌ Actually, the saying should be:⁣ ⁣ "When you FEEL GOOD, you LOOK GOOD".⁣ ⁣ 👉🏻 Why?⁣ ...For starters I think the 1st phrase encourages people to focus on the superficial parts of ourselves rather than the more important part which is whats on the inside). ⁣ ⁣ 👉🏻 Not only that but it also promotes the idea that we can fix our inner most selves & gain self confidence just by spending more 💰💸 on material excesses like clothes👗  makeup💄 & plastic surgery🍑.....⁣ ⁣ 💟 BUT the reality is, if you focus on taking care of yourself on the INSIDE, then everything else will follow. TRUE beauty radiates from inside out 🌟💁‍♀️ Clothes can cover scars & skin, makeup can cover acne, but those are just bandaids that never address the real issues.⁣ ⁣ 👉🏻 As always, your perspective changes AFTER your mindset changes🧠 NOT before. Learn to be happy with YOU, there is only 1 of YOU💁‍♀️ so why try to be like everyone else👭? This is the only kind of TRUE beauty that you dont have to spend 💰 on and no one can take from you❤⁣ ⁣ . . . . . . .⁣ ⁣ 💟 So how do we change our mentality 🧠? ..... I still use makeup and get self conscious about my facial hair, but its baby steps👣. Struggle to get moving at your desk job? ⠀⠀ Here are my top tips to keep moving at your sedentary job: ⠀⠀ 1️⃣ Walk where possible on your commute. Whether it’s getting off a stop early or parking your car in the furthest space, any extra steps will help 2️⃣ Find time in your day to move as much as possible. Walk over to Janet in Finance desk rather than speed dial or walk around the block mid-afternoon instead of a pick me up coffee.  3️⃣ NEVER eat lunch at your desk. This is your time so get up and stretch your legs.
