#squats - WEEK 1✅ - Kicking off the volume phase of prep with low bar squats and front squats followed by a full BB style leg session! As I said previously I don’t have a priority between strength or size, I’m pursuing both equally using @australianstrengthcoach strength plan combined with my @team_powerbuilding training split! - Low Bar Squats - 5 Sets 190KG x 8! It was very comfortable, easing my way back into the heavy stuff. The plan is to drop a rep each week and increase the load by 12.5kg... - Front Squats - 3 Sets of 110KG x 5! I started off using 135KG, not realising how taxing the low bar squats would be. Now reprogrammed the plan is to increase this lift by 10kg each week sticking with the same number of reps... - Every single workout I do for this prep will be posted in the @team_powerbuilding private group. Feels like I've not been to the gym as much this week. So instead of watching my teenage daughter train 🏊🏻♀️ I decided to head to @train.24 I did a quick mile on the treadmill to warm up, then got the ipad out and followed the @jillianmichaels ripped in 30 workout, week 1 .. Had I have attempted that at home, I would have stopped after 5 mins 🙈 so being in the gym made me not stop... Wide grip rows using an incline bench- this is good for supporting your lower back if you have issues with lower back pain, or if you just want to isolate the upper/mid back without swinging the weight this is ideal. Bit of biceps to finish on an incline bench, this allows you to keep the tension on the bicep all the way down, no need to go heavy on this keep it slow and controlled. Apologies for the facials 😵

. I love watching athletes prepare for competition. I love the spirit of competition. Especially in individual sports. No teammates to blame. No teammates to attribute your success to. Sure, there are coaches and support, but when you’re in “the arena”, it is just you. Bearing to the world your best effort physically, mentally, emotionally. @raymontedmonds is one of those guys I have the utmost admiration for. Top-Notch-Athlete. Killing it.
