Anyone have a week where they just lose motivation to do anything? That’s me this week. I went to the gym last week and was sore longer than usual with very tight hamstrings and haven’t felt the need to get out to the gym due to a lack of motivation. 😪 - Tomorrow I’ve got a terrain race that hopefully kicks out whatever I’ve been lacking for motivation 🙏🏼 - Still loving my body progress even though I’ve been out for a week. You have to learn to love yourself and not get discouraged for having off days or weeks. 👊🏼
Put some unrelated anger and aggression to good use in tonight’s basement lifting session. Got high cortisol levels? Focus that shit on some kilos! . Having fun trying to make that timing work with my clean pulls and cleans. Same kind of mental “push-through” that I’m going through with snatches. I think I’m actually closer on snatches than cleans, and somehow my actual cleans seem to be better timed than my pulls and high pulls... This is so much fun and so fulfilling. Every training day is another chance to chip away at the puzzle while I get stronger and better. Fuckin love it. 1. Just finished today’s leg workout and gee, was it a doozy! 😂 but it was lots of fun :D I couldn’t get to the gym so what I did was use one of my cars spare tire, a backpack filled with cans and that’s it! :D you dont always need to go to the gym to get a killer workout :D this is what I did below ^-^/ Warm up: 10 minutes of walking and 5 minutes of jump rope Squats: Bodyweight, 2 sets 12 reps Squats: 40 lb (two 20lb dumbbells) 2 sets 12 reps Squats with tire: 2 sets 8 reps Deadlift (bodyweight): 2 sets 12 reps Deadlift 60 lb (two 30 lb dumbbells) : 3 sets 10 reps Calf Raises 50 lb in backpack: 3 sets 15 reps Calf Raises 55 lb in backpack: 3 sets 12 reps Lunges (bodyweight): 3 sets 12 reps Lunges (with 45lb weight plate): 4 sets 10 reps Hip Thrust (60 lb): 2 sets 12 reps Hip Thrust (40 lb): 3 sets 10 reps Burpees: 10 min (lol I forgot to count how many I did) 😂 Cool down: 10 minute stretching 5 minutes of walking Gee this was lots of fun ^o^ what makes a great workout is that you do your very best, it’s not always about lifting heavy but about doing what’s best for you and having fun ^-^ #fitness#fitnessmotivation#excercise#livinghealthy#healthyishappy#healthyishappiness#weightlifting#weightliftingwomen#girlsarestrong#legday#funexcercise#workouts#workout

Heavy single Saturday. Attempted to match my max today, but it was a no go. Typically, I have a rule that if I can clean the weight, there is no way I'm missing that jerk.... but that wasnt the case today. Hit the clean ( even with my ass floating back out of the hole), but the jerk just wasn't there. Oh Saturday! *shakes first to the sky*... foiled again. Lol. Really glad I got the clean, though. Bad form and all.
So here’s the rest of my PR videos for the week! For deadlifts I got 260 x1 and for bench I got 135 x1 with a failed attempt for 2...in January my goal is 290 for deadlifts and 135 x2 for bench and 225 for squats with more confidence and control! • • First video (facing the front) is 260, the second (facing the side) is 250 and third video is obvs bench 🤩
Weightlifting isn’t about going after PRs every week. It’s about breaking down the lifts, the ass busting grind, the frustrations and the injuries. I strained a ligament in my lower back earlier this summer, then when I thought that had healed, jammed two vertebrae in my neck. As a result, I couldn’t lift as I wanted to up until a couple months ago. I lost strength and that pissed me off, but I trusted my coach’s programming. If you do weight lifting, yoga is really good for recovery an helps you from getting injured 🏋️♀️ . I have had problems with my hip so my doctor told me to do more yoga/stretching. Find your “why” & dive in. Dig into that “pain-cave” & test yourself! Don’t be afraid to get a little dirty & a little sweaty! Your body will thank you! I used to not be dramatic at all 😏, and would just FREAK the F out and feel so bad and GUILTY if I missed ONE ☝🏽 workout 😑😆.... one. I can now see the ridiculousness of that🤪. - It’s okay to miss a day at the gym. It’s okay to miss a week of workouts.
