Well it’s about FUCKING time. 175kg (386lbs) Clean & Jerk today. One mental barrier at a time. Much more in the tank. _____________________________________________ @houndwood_weightlifting @chrishernandezlifter @jessiemesias @mrhino96_ @alavalifter1976 @lats316 @steef_beef105 @joemiele5 @d_bryant21 @mad_lifts_15 @ameerk89 @_._.nick_ @lcrossfitj @penn_glendlay @team_do.nt
Delighted with my performance at Charles Mifsud International Malta. 5/6 with 57/73 at 48.1kg body weight. This was my first time representing Ireland and my first international. I am so proud of team Ireland who won mixed team gold 🥇men's team gold 🥇 women's team gold for me and @katie__murphy_ 🥇 and I won 1st and best lifter 🥇🏆 out of the individual women. Thank you so much to my coach @bohemianbarbell / @stewartgilbert_ and to @capitalstrength for coaching me on the day and to @malta.weightlifting for a great event. I'm so proud of everyone ❤️ @weightliftingireland @cspgym
@melaniebusch came in to work on her clean. Specifically to fix overpulling and work on getting low fast. Then I walked her through a light jerk drill to work on consistent foot placement when splitting underneath the bar. @chrislawson803 came in for the 1st time today to work on his snatch technique. I saw quickly that he has a habit of throwing his head back when reaching full extension which caused him to knock the bar out front. I put him on a deficit to help him stay in his quads and push with his legs to full extension. @suddethjustin did one of our snatch complexes for the first time and started to figure it out. @thebarfitnessclub @allsouthbarbell @fortissportsusa @haworthweightlifting @cpt_strength #weightlifting#weightlifter#youthweightlifting#mastersweightlifting#conditioning#crossfit#olympiclifting#olympicweightlifting#snatch#cleanandjerk#coach#ilovemyjob#summervillesc
When it comes to things like fat loss and muscle growth, are some people more well equipped genetically for one or the other? Yes. But they usually aren’t both, at least not naturally. For example, people who naturally are very lean generally tend to have a harder time putting on muscle. And on the flip side, people like me who build muscle fairly easily aren’t always genetically geared to just have bodyfat fall off of them. . But does not being “genetically elite” = “can’t do it at all”? . Absolutely not. Too many people sit around bemoaning their genetics instead of just getting smarter and more intentional about what they’re doing. . Have a hard time losing bodyfat? You will likely have to diet a bit longer and a bit harder than your naturally lean counterparts. But if you build muscle rather easily, be grateful!
