Not all progress happens on the scale. My resting hear rate has gone from 95bpm to 80bpm. My heart isn’t have to work as hard!  I can do so much more without being breathless and in pain. My whole outlook on my health has changed. After gaining over 100 pounds back I felt helpless and that I couldn’t do it again. I was binging daily and scared every night when I went to bed. It hurt to shower or even walk to my car. I hate admitting all of this, but this isn’t my highlight roll, this is my life. I’m down almost 15 pounds and I feel in control again. Everything else in my life seems to go back into order when I’m living healthy. Life is good! ❤️

I attempted to replicate the best fucking vegan tacos I've ever had - the soy chorizo/potato/chard tacos from El Cotorro craft tacos@elcotorroabq - and they turned up and out. Have mercy. They were accompanied by a simple guac - one avocado, salt, lime and cilantro and a tiny, minced, clove of garlic - and a tequila tonic. ▪▪▪▪ I ate at El Cotorro five times in my two week stay in #albuquerque. I have been craving their tacos since I left there in mid November. I am fortunate to have lived in places with an endless supply of organic produce, and I can add the extra cost of top tier quality/local produce to my budget. But, if you have to make a decision, think about the Dirty Dozen and Clean 15 ✨(swipe over). . It has served me well and provides a nice base of fruits and veggies. The Dirty Dozen items are more likely to contain unwanted chemicals that are harmful to your body and the environment. They tend to be exposed to more pesticide compared to the Clean 15, in part because of how and where they are grown or harvested. . The secondary consumers are eaten by the tertiary consumers, which get about 0.1% of the energy that was initially obtained by the plants. Good morning! Started yet another day with a yummy bowl of oats. Chia oats topped with mixed berry chia jam, cashew butter, banana, pumpkin seeds, and hemp seeds. Tip for all my college students: you can make your own chia jam in the microwave. To make the jam all I did was heat up frozen berries in the microwave, mash them up, add water and maple syrup, then mix in some chia seeds. Microwave on high for 60 seconds. Digestive system. Immune system. Circulatory system. Respiratory system. Skeletal system. You've probably heard of all these body systems before & know you have them, right? But did you know you also have what's called an endocannabinoid system (or ECS for short)? ⠀⠀⠀ There's a lot of science surrounding the ECS, but I'm going to simplify it as much as possible. ⠀⠀⠀ So there are a bunch of cannabinoid receptors scattered all around both your peripheral & central nervous systems. The  two most common are CB-1 receptors, which are primarily located on the nerve cells in your brain & spinal cord, & CB-2 receptors, which are mainly involved in your immune & digestive systems. ⠀⠀⠀ Your body has a natural ability to produce compounds called cannabinoids, which attach to these CB-1 and CB-2 receptors and help maintain homeostasis (or balance) in the body. The activation of these CB receptors regulates basically everything: inflammation, sleep, mood, pain, appetite, memory, etc. ⠀⠀⠀ When the ECS is functioning properly, all body systems remain in balance. But when the ECS is out of whack, it can lead to widespread malfunction, and symptoms indicative of disorders such as fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, IBS, migraines, anxiety, depression, arthritis, etc. etc. etc. (seriously, the list goes on and on and on). ⠀⠀⠀ Although there's still a lot to learn about this system, researchers agree that supplementing with naturally-occurring cannabinoids from plants (read: CBD oil) can correct cannabinoid deficiencies, alleviate symptoms, and restore health. ⠀⠀⠀ In addition to supplementation with CBD oil, you can increase your body's natural production of cannabinoids with regular aerobic exercise and a high intake of omega-3 fatty acids. ⠀⠀⠀ 1. Did you know that beet greens are one of the most nutritious green, leafy vegetables out there? In fact, when it comes to vitamins, minerals, and fiber, the beet greens are actually MORE nutritious than the actual beet root itself. ⠀⠀ Beet greens are one of the richest sources of zeaxanthin -- a carotenoid that keeps your eyes healthy and helps protect against age-related macular degeneration. The greens are also rich in vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin C, and B vitamins. ⠀⠀ SO DON'T THROW THEM OUT. Instead make this: ⠀⠀ 1 bunch of beet greens 1 teaspoon sea salt, divided 2 tablespoons avocado oil 2 garlic cloves, minced 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ⠀⠀ Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Remove leaves from stem and rinse. Add greens and 1 teaspoon salt to water. Blanch for 2 minute and transfer to a bowl of ice water. Drain and squeeze. Chop roughly. ⠀⠀ Heat avocado oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and hot red pepper flakes and cook until garlic is fragrant, about one minute. Stir in the greens and cook until greens are coated evenly with garlic and oil, about 2 minutes. Season with chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt & pepper. I warmed up the tacos on a pan for about a minute or two & then topped with a sunny side up egg, the sweet potatoes, sliced avocado, sesame seeds, hot sauce (@diets food), salt & pepper.

Plus, they help curb any sweet cravings👌🏼 Where will you be this Christmas⁉️ I’ll be in Dallas visiting my family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Deets👇🏼 ▫️1 cup Raw Almonds (@bluediamond) ▫️10 Pitted Mejdool Dates (@wholefoods) ▫️1/4 cup Dried Cranberries (@wholefoods) ▫️2 tbsp Toasted Coconut Flakes ▫️1 tbsp Hemp Seeds (@manitobaharvest) ▫️1 tbsp Chia Seeds (@heb) ▫️2 tbsp Raw Honey ▫️2 tbsp Pumpkin Seeds (@natureseats) ▫️1 tbsp Water ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pulse everything together in a food processor.
