Don’t worry about what other people are doing, or what other people think about you. I’m a vegan who homeschools his kid. Needless to say, I get a lot of hate from people. Good thing I don’t give a f*ck what some random person behind a screen thinks of me. Life is short. Focus on the things that really matter to you. If you haven’t read the book, The Subtle Art Of Not Giving a F*ck I highly recommend it. I’ll leave you with this quote from the author. “You and everyone you know are going to be dead soon. And in the short amount of time between here and there, you have a limited amount of f*cks to give. Very few, in fact. I never thought I would get excited about a new piece of gym equipment, but when the  infamous ‘Nautilus’ glute drive (used a lot by the god of glutes @bretcontreras1) arrives, it’s an exciting time!!! Pretty sure it’s the only one in NZ!  Here I am doing the first set of drop set hip thrusts. If I’m just doing standard HT, I can do about 80kg for about 12 reps, but dropsetting, I decrease it to 60kg. First set of 12 = 60kg then dropset to 12 at 40kg. Rinse and repeat 3 times. #throwbackthursday First photo in 2013 ➡️ last fall in 2018 Photo #1: me back in first year of University, so young, unsure of what my future was going to be like, just enjoying a night out at a hockey game 😊. Time really flies when you're having fun and working your ass off 🤣 I never imagined all the things that I would do in the next five years.  Photo #2: me drinking a real dairy milkshake! I never thought that I would go vegan at that point in my life haha, but here I am because I did my own research and realized the benefits of a vegan diet and lifestyle!  Photo #3/4: I won a gold medal at a karate world championships in Italy with my best friend & partner in life! I competed against my idol at that world championships! Photo #5: I went to Africa did work on a sustainable water project there!  Photo #6: A very special day when I said yes to spending the rest of my life with the love of my life. I'm super happy with my fiancé, the best guy in the world @James2456, and we are both living our best lives! ♥️♥️♥️ - I've been pretty good at keeping my health in check over the busy years of University. But there were times when I would overwork myself until my body would give me obvious signs to slow down. I've gotten strep throat, weird rashes from over stressing and I've just been exhausted. I also notice that my mood/energy/stress levels are impacted negatively when I am sedentary. When I started my master's, I knew it would be a new challenge, so I made a committment to myself to exercise first thing every day and meditate in the mornings and evenings. I'm not perfect, but I try my best to do these things every day! On days when I don't, I don't feel as great and I'm not as productive. - The reason that I've been able to accomplish so many things is because I make my health a number 1️⃣ priority. I eat as healthy as possible (and let myself have treats every now and then), I exercise every day in one form or another, and I practice

You should never be too busy to fuel your body properly because the consequences will leave you too sick to live your life to the fullest. Eating good foods will help you live your best life! . . We often tell ourselves that we are too busy to cook so we grab whatever fast and easy junk food we find and justify these poor choices. But the reality is that the busiest times in our lives are the times we need proper fuel for our bodies. I wish I could say I’m not guilty of taking the fast junk food approach on my busiest days but even I’m guilty of this terrible practice at times. . . With only two days left before our wedding my fiancé and I have been running around like crazy getting things together for the big day. Cooking has not really been a top priority lately but this morning after visiting his aunt in the hospital we could really feel the importance of fueling our bodies properly. We recommitted to fueling our bodies with the best foods. When we arrived home Leki cooked some coconut curry tofu and I made our vegan superfoods shake so we could receive the nourishment we need to get us through this long weekend. But more important we want to set good habits for our future family and we don’t want to make excuses for not taking care of our bodies...especially when we are busy. . . Being busy is never a good excuse to neglect your health. Everyone is busy. That is never going to change. But eating healthy foods can be simple. This meal was prepared in less than 20 minutes. That’s the same amount of time that would have been spent driving to a fast food drive thru and waiting for your food. The sun brings a lot of peace when you slow down and let go for a minute.  The sun can be very motivating as well, I’m always up early in the summer and ready for whatever it is needs to get done. #repost @superfitbabe ・・・ During the week, my meals honestly look too boring and plain to post, plus the task of re-arranging how the food visually appears is quite stressful. Extra stress hormones is definitely the last that I need. 😱😰 But for the past few days, I have been adoring the combination of edamame spaghetti from @explorecuisine and northern beans with nutritional yeast (not pictured) and ketchup, air-fried purple sweet potatoes (this is the organic kind from @sprouts), and raw crunchy almond butter from @traderjoes! 🍠🍝 I ended up buying two jars of almond butter in the same week because one of them disappeared in less than four days. Sounds pretty typical in my household. 😂

Now that the peak weeks are done, marathon training is tapering. This means that the total mileage is sharply decreasing each week until the actual race. It doesn’t mean being a couch potato for the next 2 1/2 weeks, though. 😉 Instead, tapering gives the body more rest in order to conserve energy. Asian Spicy Cauliflower Zucchini Fritters  from @the_clumsy_vegan . #keto friendly . Who doesn’t like a freshly fried fritter! Crispy on the outside and squeaky in the middle😋 . The best part about making these is no food processor involved so less washing up! 😍😍 Recipe Ingredients: Cauliflower: 1 grated Zucchini: 2 grated Scallions: 2 finely chopped Ginger: 1T grated Xylitol or sugar: 1T Peanut butter: 1 heaped T Chinese 5 spice:½ T Sambar masala: 1T Curry powder: ½ T Smoked paprika: ½ T Soya sauce: 1 T Psyllium husk powder: 1T at a time up to 3 T Salt: 2 t Coconut oil to shallow fry Method: Mix the cauliflower and zucchini together in a bowl and add 2 t of salt. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes then tie in a cheese cloth and squeeze all the water out  Transfer to a bowl and mix in remaining ingredients. Mix in psyllium husk powder ½ T at a time till the mixture just binds Shape into fritters and shallow fry in coconut oil or brush with coconut oil and bake till done 🌶  Follow @SusproFoods for more plant-based recipe and nutrition tips 😃
