So, there’s this cool, older woman I chat with every morning when I get my coffee ☕️❤️...and even though she’s a couple generations older than me, we vibe really well. You know, laughing and venting to one another about this and that. Well, this morning I somehow mentioned that I’m 38, and her jaw dropped and said “You know you could pass for 19, right?” Of course I laughed, knowing that it was REALLY far off...but I couldn’t help but feel extra proud as I walked away and headed toward Trader Joe’s. My daily wellness habits and vegan lifestyle are not only contributing to my outer appearance...but I really do feel more youthful and blessed than ever! So awesome it’s showing...🙌🏽😁 . . When I left the coffee shop, I had flashbacks of what it felt like to wake up feeling mentally, physically, and emotionally defeated. Gawd — I was such a hot mess in my late 20s to early 30s. Even though I had an editorial career in fashion and internet marketing, a “fun” group of friends, and go-to hotspots where I enjoyed being a social butterfly, I had no clue what true peace and happiness was. I thought the concept of “healthy living” was overrated...which I realize now, was because I didn’t understand the beauty and reality of what that meant. Today, things are so very different because I value LIFE so much more... as a woman, mother, partner, creative professional, daughter, sister, and friend. 🙏🏽💕 . . So if you got anything from my random narrative, I hope that it’s this: consistent, healthy behavior will spark change in how you look, feel, and overall, carry yourself. Whether it’s eating plantbased foods or meditating in the sun...transforming into that amazing person you wanna be always starts within. Period. . . So many people are just uneducated or ignorant about veganism. I use to be one of them. • Some choose to ignore the fact that consuming animals is actually unnecessary in your diet. Some choose to consume animals and there byproducts because they love the taste of it and choose to ignore the suffering it took to get to your plate. Some people get so worked up and defensive of there animal eating ways that when they are confronted with the truth that there is no need to eat animals and that it’s unhealthy for them and the environment that they become nasty. Some people believe the animals they eat were put here for us as food, which couldn’t be further from the truth. • There are so many other alternatives and even if there wasn’t when you know all this information why would you still eat animals. When you make the switch to not eating animals it truly is life changing and as cliche as it sounds you do wish you had done it sooner. • There is so much non biased information out there now about Veganism. Please educate yourself, do it for the animals, for your health, for the environment. • Is consuming animals and there byproducts really worth it. I was uneducated and ignorant for many years so anyone reading this please make the change. • Stop the unnecessary slaughter of animals simply for your tastebuds. Stop being ignorant. • I’m vegan for the animals.
IMPROVISED BUDDHA BOWL - WHOLE FOODS & OIL FREE✌️lol so i have become that annoying vegan !!! as you go vegan, your tastebuds change, i’m not the only one saying it lol - tons of vegans have the same experience. & veggies start to taste different - i feel like you taste the texture and nuances from one veggie to the other more. anyway, i used to hate salads & buddha bowls - they were punishment foods ! but not anymore at all - i actually crave them. the bowl du jour was: 1. a base of brown rice (50g) 2. zucchini roasted in lemon juice for 30 min (125g) 3. sweet potato roasted after a toss in salt, pepper, cumin, cinnamon & cayenne pepper (just a tinyyyy bit of cayenne pepper) 4. 1/2 avocado 5. 1/2 can of butter beans + 1/2 can of black beans ! super delicious, with a lot of different textures ! & also ultra filling and nutritious for only 800 calories what’s your favourite buddha bowl? #lafrenchvegan#lafrenchveganbuddhabowl

I had this amazing #veganbowl from @hugosinvitados today with quinoa, #impossibleburger crumbles, Brussel sprouts, heirloom tomatoes and a spicy pepper sauce. Hugo's servers really do a great job with understanding vegan diets and how to modify dishes for vegan eaters. This is my favorite restaurant in Irving, TX. The service is amazing, the food is incredible and the restaurant is stunning. Check them out! You will not be disappointed.

Healthy one minute lemon mug cake (vegan) ⠀ Ingredients ⠀ 3 tbsp coconut flour 1/4 tsp baking powder 1 tbsp coconut sugar Vanilla extract (optional) 1/3 tsp Turmeric 1 tbsp lemon zest 1 Tbsp flaxseeds (ground) 2 tbsp coconut oil melted 4 tbsp milk of choice ⠀ What to do ⠀ 1.In a small bowl mix well all your dry ingredients. ⠀ 2.In a microwave-safe bowl or mug mix the rest of your ingredients. Add your dry ingredients and mix till smooth consistency. If the batter is too thick, add more little milk. ⠀ 3.Microwave for 1-2 minutes, add 1 tsp honey on top (optional).

SH ISH ITO...SH ISHITO....SHISHITO.. In general, while you’re eating these, you should SHHH. I had these shishito peppers for the first time at a local bar/ restaurant that some coworkers and I would go to after a long night in the restaurant where we worked. They have the best late night happy hour, yet very minimal vegan items. However, they would occasionally have these sweet ass babes on the menu and it was almost a necessity to have them🌶(btw they’re not red as in this emoji-of course this is all I have to work with)🌱 . AS ALWAYS, I DIGRESS. Short story long, I made these at home the other night with my bad ass @emeril lagasse cast iron grill skillet I bought at a yard sale for like $4. Why anyone would get rid of anything cast iron, I have no idea. Did you know that cooking with a cast iron skillet also increase iron in certain foods you cook. There was even a study by the America Dietetic Association proving iron levels of certain foods boosted when cooked in an iron skillet. Plus they’re non stick sooo I mean come on. And yes, I am sponsored by the CISAA or more shortly known as the Cast Iron Skillet Association of America. Check them out, it’s an amazing group, where everyone brings their skillets and hot plates and we all gather in a circle cooking various parts of a meal to make one big #delicous pot of food. Anyway, these peppers can be cooked on a grill as well or roasted in the over until a little blackened. Toss a little soy sauce on top, then add sesame seeds at the end. Back to Slimming World tonight, so my meals may look slightly more healthy again as of today 😂✌🏼 I have @belindakemplay by my side to keep me in check this time! I need to keep my wedding in mind and stop getting tempted by all the new bad (but amazing) vegan food that’s always coming out ! Massive portion of speed and free salad tonight with a jacket potato and Chickpea ‘tuna’ which was fit! I made it by boiling the chickpeas for 10 minutes, pouring cold water on them to cool them down, then mashing them with a tbsp of Hellman’s vegan mayo, sweet corn, spring onion, tbsp lemon juice, and 2 tbsp nutritional yeast with salt and pepper. 🧐🥰🤩🥳
📍🏡 of @amberthompson8 I’ve actually been making pancakes 🥞 so much recently and it’s been a nice little #tbt to my childhood, didn’t realise making vegan pancakes was so easy! I used the Tasty recipe this time I think, but with buckwheat flour- I really didn’t like this flour though it was kind of bitter, and I would just use regular next time. I topped the pancakes with agave syrup, choc shot, berries and a sprig of mint. 🌱

First up from @veganstreetfair is a slice of “Not your grandma’s” from @thepizzaplantusa. I loved the touch of balsamic, and the GF crust wasn’t too dry or too crispy. I would’ve eaten a whole pizza given the chance! I would seek this place out next time I’m in LA to grab a delicious pie!
