Meet our design intern Tanner and his ‘89 Chevy, Smilé (pronounced “smee-lay” in a Nacho Libre voice). You can’t say no to a guy with this kind of style, especially when he coordinates his outfit to match his ride. @tannerjmill
A lot of love went into this build, a lot of tears, smiles, arguments, hugs, confusion, frustration, joy, happiness, creativity. Sometimes I forget how beautiful our home is. The details we spent months deciding on. The time and effort we put in making it our perfect space. Apollo has given me freedom I didn’t understand until now. A sense of patience with life that I hadn’t come to learn yet. The most important thing I can share with anyone thinking of taking on this lifestyle, is to always remind yourself of your purpose, your dream, your freedom. Remind yourself the tough times are worth it just as much as the beautiful ones.
Curtains on the other window are up! We have drawn out the entire layout today for the van. Next is to build it up and install the electrics. I feel like we’ve been putting that part off for a while but it’s getting closer! I can’t wait to lay on the mattress for the first time. 🚌
Our trip to Prince Edward Island was much too short, however, it is one of the places that left the most significant impression on us. . It was a collision of right place and right time. The day before drained our spirits for all sorts of reasons, and it was as if the Universe needed a stage to demonstrate how essential the bad is to truly cherish the great! . We woke up anew to a perfect summer day and hopped from beach to beach where we spent time floating and playing in their famously warm waters. We ate the most fresh and delicious seafood while watching our anxious dog thrive from the medicinal magic of salt water. It was one of those pivotal days that I will always look back on when reminiscing about this journey. After only a few weeks of living on the road, it was the first time we both really accepted and celebrated the importance of being present. We recognized that there would be plenty more “bad” days, but if we were open and willing, we could always appreciate their role in creating the great ones!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today we strolled through Berlin again. We were at the @picknweight store and met @danieladacruz. Nadine and Dani have trained as a nurse together. Then we ate an amazing carrot cake at Café Oliv and went to the East Side Gallery. Later we took the subway and drove through Berlin without any plan. Now we are relaxing in Mowgli. We'll watch a movie later, Insurgent. We hope you have a nice evening and wish you a good night.
FAMILY... enjoying the view 🙌🌊🐾 • • 📸 @slowcarfasthome • • Follow @slowcarfasthome and go check out their blog. They just spent two months exploring the Baja Peninsula and received so many questions from their followers that they decided to write an e book for those looking for a similar experience. Not to mention, they have two adorable pups, take awesome photos and make one of a kind custom longboards in their RV @lowtidelongboards
We were all strangers until a few weeks ago. Now we are connected for life, a vanpack traveling in Baja Sur. We share everything... meals, drives, breakdowns, dogs, yoga, snorkeling, beach runs, campfire stories and many laughs. I’m so grateful for our wonderful new friends and their decisions to leave a little room for the unknown. You see, because we all left our plans a little loose, we opened ourselves up to the possibility of connection. Plans and goals point us in the direction we want to go but flexibility and openness call in the magic. I love the vanlife community. ✨

Usually I try not to wish time away because that’s not the way of the zen, but if I could make Memorial Day weekend get here faster, I’d do it! I’ll be towing a 30-ft Airstream Classic from LA to Paso Robles & I’m chomping at the bits. Still deciding on a tow vehicle. The trailer weighs 7,800 lbs so I need some serious grunt. Any suggestions??! #liveadventurously#airstream
I’m working on zero waste, I’m working on minimalism, I know that in my journey I’ll have to work on cutting back on paper but good god I love books. . I have a unquenchable thirst for knowledge and go through books like a fire through a library. I’m a sucker for the physical thing, I’ve tried and tried but I cannot do digital. . I do library when I can but I destroy books. I fold pages, wreck spines, fill them with scribbles and notes and use them thoroughly, specially my favourite books which I relish rereading. . Nearly all my books are second hand though, I very very rarely buy new. When I was in London I raided my friends personal library, was bought some books as gifts and found a second hand book shop. The photo is the consequence of my trip.... . But minimalism will find me! I crave the simplicity and before my vanlife begins I will kick my paper habit to the curb! Just not yet.... . To other minimalist book junkies - how do you do it??
