Being on or near the water soothes my soul, so I did a little ferry trip yesterday, over to Iluka. Was hoping to see dolphins but alas not this time.... I never realised how big and mighty the Clarence River is! Great for kayaking around here... might leave that one for summer tho 😄 #yamba#clarenceriver#vanlifeforgirls
Slow start to our Saturday morning but we got invited out camping in the absolutely stunning Gordon Country in Goomburra Valley (pet friendly btw) 😁 We had a lovely time relaxing playing board games and chilling by the fire. Yet another freezing night in #pfeffernussethevan but we came prepared with an extra thick blanket. We really need to start working on that insulation but currently having too much fun roughing it. Definitely recommend this area!
When your dreams become your reality 💭💫 • • Thanks @roamingwildcampers for taking on my build. I will forever be grateful to you for making my home just as cosy as I imagined 🖤🌬 • • People always asks if I would change anything. Six months in, I wouldn't change a thing! I am super happy with the layout, I think that comes from years of research and learning from others living the life. Everything has a home, it's a very practical space and the late decision to be completely off grid with @enerdrive_australia was hands down the best decision 🤗⚡ • • My advice is to not jump into it. Do your research before you start (four years, if that's what it takes🤷♀️😂). My design changed SO many times and make sure you find out as much as you can about the life, laws, van choice etc. Google and YouTube are your friend 💻 • • 👣 One life • Live it • Love it
A cold but beautiful start to the day here in Yamba... free camped last night saving myself about $40 (the cost of an unpowered site at the local campgrounds). Thankfully my flannelette sheets and winter doonah kept me nice and warm (I hate the cold... strange choice to go south for the winter I know). I rugged up and went for a 5km walk along the river, passing fishing boats and pelicans and folk walking excited dogs. I cooked up some porridge and a cup of tea at the back of my van on my little gas ring. There's a kids surf comp happening... brrrr they can have it! . . #vanlifeforgirls#memoirsfrommygeisha#yamba
No word of a lie, I arrive in Yamba, pull up at the beach, make my dinner at the back of the van, then this black dog comes and says hi... his owner says gidday, then slides open his van... to reveal a beautifully converted home. He just left the Gold Coast today and is heading south for 2 months, same like me. He's originally from Auckland, same like me. We chatted for ages about #vanlife. Then he drove off to get supplies at the supermarket. Seriously, my first stop and I encounter a fellow #vanlifer. So fricken awesomeI💓💓💓
For many months, nay years, I've been dreaming of #vanlife and thanks to a great friend I've now got a very cosy home on wheels! I've spent the last few days packing the van and prepping for my time away. Will miss my boyfriend lots, but this time away is a chance to be free for awhile. A chance to recharge after 9 months of hard yakka in Brisbane (with a 4 hour commute every day, yes crazy I know). So this morning I switched the odometer to zero as I drove off... destination Perth - via the Great Ocean Road, Adelaide and the Nullabor! For the most part I'm travelling solo... so gals, if you've ever thought of trying vanlife but havent taken the plunge yet, follow my tales from the road for some inspiration... if I can do it you can too! . . #vanlifeforgirls#geishagetaway#travelblogger
When you find a perfect parking.. and park like an idiot.. for posing purposes! :D By the way, I say “Good morning from Areta” in this mysterious lithuanian language which is very old too! And since I ‘m still in Basque region I should mention that basque language is very intriguing too. Kaixo!
