Just so you know, anything goes! Every month we put out a new color palette and it's up to you to interpret it the way you want - any style, any art, any way that works for you! After all, we're just here for you! @cheiron used the palette La Vie en Rose for her card making with @neatandtangled! #experiencetruecolors
i havent made any moves to get past the underpainting on this one || i've been super lazy with all my art lately 🙈--also this purple reminds me of that kids book about that dog does anyone remember what that was called? honestly tho this is gonna drive me insane and ive already scrolled thru too many google images for me to just give up
Underpainting 100cm x 80cm. Drinking coffee and pondering what next. I notice I can get stuck at this point by overthinking - the only way out is to choose a colour and....GO! This painting lark is all about taking risks isn't it? (Aagh. Now I've got to avoid overthinking colour! ) Happy Thursday all you creatives out there😍 ---#underpainting # risk #colour # beginning #markmaking#markmakingmakesmehappy#mixedmediaoncanvas
🖌✔Ive learned In painting, an #underpainting is a first layer of paint applied to a canvas or board and it works as base for other layers of paint. It’s a technique that was used by the #oldmasters as a way to develop a plan for future color placement ! Like a map 🖌💁🏼♀️ . * 🇬🇷 #spartan Theme . 🖌oil on canvas 24 x 12 . . ⏱Time : 16hrs . 🖌Sepia , white
For #throwbackthursday, I'm jumping on the Carmen Sandiego hype train with the WiP underpainting for the piece I did the "Where in the World" gallery show at the Dandelion Cafe, here in Orlando. . The new Netflix cartoon drops tomorrow. I'm so excited!

One layer at a time. Breathing in. Breathing out. Working in the studio after more than two years away feels different. Less like “riding a bike” or “getting back on the horse.” More like “turning a page” or “butterfly emerging from the cocoon.” I still feel a flutter of nervousness when I unlock the door. What if I can’t think of anything today? @chuckcloseofficial reminds us why just showing up is enough: “Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself.” So here’s to you, love. If you showed up today, that was enough.
If you haven't noticed, I love eggshells. There's just something about them. Each cracked shell is unique and reflects the light differently. Though used, these eggs keep on serving a beautiful purpose...well for me they do anyway. "Used". 24x18 oil on linen. (Can't wait until this one's dry so I can varnish it and bring the colors back to life!)
