Gratitude Day 75 - Sister time Beautiful landscape despite the clouds. I have yet to wander up the wooded path to this old turret, one day soon I hope to admire its stone work up close, rather than just from afar x Warm wishes to all this night or day x
issa castle 📍: Logan Blvd 🏠: Built in 1906 by architect Lyman Allison Fun Fact: The stones on the top of the tower are called crenellations as a whole. The raised sections are the merlons and the gaps are called crenets. More on the architect: Lyman J. Allison was a very prolific architect throughout the Chicago area. Allison moved to Chicago around 1892 and designed homes in a variety of historic revival styles, but he seemed to specialize in bungalows. He designed hundreds of homes in Chicago, from South Side neighborhoods like Beverly to North Side neighborhoods like Norwood Park and Logan Square. Allison also designed homes in many Chicago suburbs, including over 100 in Oak Park.
