Nothing like a bit of Fall smack dab in the middle of the Christmas decor, but I’ve been organizing and tidying the piles on every one of my flat surfaces getting ready to jump feet first back into some design work and that meant sashing these blocks so they can move off my to-do counter 😀 but swipe left to see the real reason🤣Did you know that you can use the Tri-Recs ruler set to cut this sashing? The ruler set was developed by dzimmerman1252 and has always been a go to ruler for me😀 and #notpaperpieced so my plaids don’t get wonky, just perhaps casually off-grain🤣 so very happy to have this beautiful quilt, The Raven by #blackbirddesigns and blackbirdalma done, off my to-do list/counter✅ and double ✅ #ones1ster#needleturnapplique#trirecsruler#quiltersofinstagram#quilts#quilting #
Thank goodness for my Tri-Recs Rulers. I made what felt like about a zillion of these star points, and aside from trimming the top point, they’re practically perfect. Seriously, carefully cutting with my Tri-Recs meant that this stack of 90 took me only about 3 hours. Swipe left for front and back details plus a view of the rulers. The Recs tool used alone also makes super accurate half-rectangle triangles with no waste, and those can be tricky. #trirecsruler#sewsolid#modernquilting#konacotton#lemonyquilts
I watched Christa Watson’s @christaquilts latest Craftsy class, Startup Project: Starry Path Quilt, and made this Garden Path quilt block. It was the first time I had actually used the Tri-Recs rulers which were already in my ruler arsenal. And, swipe to see the free motion spirals which definitely need more practice. . This is a great class for beginning quilters, but I even learned some new tricks! You can read the full class review and enter for a giveaway for a free Craftsy class in my 5/18 blog post. Giveaway ends 5/22 at Noon EST. . #quiltblock#feelingcraftsy#craftsyclassreview#trirecsruler
Discovery of the day: the "leftovers" from cutting equilateral triangles out of charm squares for my #epiccharmquilt can now again be cut with my #trirecsruler into 4" half rectangle triangles!! I'll only have crumbs leftover. #quilting
I want to make some half rectangle triangles, so I went looking for my Tri-Recs ruler (thank you, @darlene_zimmerman_ !) and I found this UFO from 2005. I really like this design by @kayoft and I should leave it out and finish it. We'll see.
