One of my favorite photos from London was from our last day in the city. Watching a musical is one of the top things to do in the city, and I, for one, love to seek out the best live entertainment, theater and performing arts when in new cities. We're lucky to have family here and they recommended watching The Book of Mormon. It was absolutely fantastic, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone who can't decide between the many options. Have you watched a musical in London? Which one was it and would you recommend it? #london#visitlondon#visitbritaingcc
In further proof of how crazy 2018 was travel-wise, I'm just now getting to share my photos from our trip to the U.K. First up is London! Seriously how photogenic is this city?! So many more photos to come from rainy days in London. #visitlondon#lovegreatbritain
The restlessness is back. It's that dear old friend who brings big, scary, bright and beautiful things dressed impeccably in the fine fabric of change. 2019 has begun with creative ideas, imposter syndrome, anxiety and fear, and an undeniable need to shake things up a whole lot. Right now, I'm riding the chaos and hoping that good, creative things lie on the other side.
Looking over Split from the bell tower of the 7th century Cathedral of Saint Domnius. The construction of this bell tower began in the 12th century and continued for three centuries! Climbing the bell tower is totally worth it for panoramic views over Split. #splitcroatia#split
SPLIT, CROATIA We ate big slices of pizza and danced under the soft evening lights of the central square of the 4th century Diocletian's Palace in Split. By day, we searched for the best bakeries and the creamiest gelato within the stone walls of the palace, once home to thousands of people. We devoured it all and then climbed up the bell tower for views over the city. We loved how much quieter Split was compared to Dubrovnik and liked it so much we stayed an extra few days. There will always be people who tell you that certain cities are touristy. And sometimes they maybe right but not completely. You have to find your version of the city- the memories and moments you'll take away. And you can find those off the tourist trail or right in the middle of it. You can find it in an unknown backstreet or at a famous Michelin starred restaurant. We found our Split here 😊 in cobbled lanes and hidden courtyards bathed in orange pink evening light. Have you been to Croatia? What was your favorite place? #splitcroatia
PLITVICE --------------------------------------------------------- "It can be touristy" I was told about Plitvice Lakes National Park. But how could I not go? I'd seen photos and it didn't matter how out of the way it was from where we were and where we planned to be. I had to go. And in the end, it was worth it- we spent two days exploring the different trails along the two levels of lakes, cascading pools and waterfalls. Some of these- the most popular and shortest ones were crowded at times, but for the most part, we met only a few hikers, and had the trails almost to ourselves. Tip for when you go- steer clear of weekends, arrive early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid tour groups. Spend 2 days at least and do the long hikes. The longest hikes are often the most rewarding ones.
Another one from my summer travels- this one is from the island of Hvar, Croatia where we spent a blissful few days doing nothing but enjoying fantastic beaches and island life, even with a few unexpectedly rainy days. It was here that I was reminded how different vacations are (and rightly should be) from my usual style of traveling, where I'm always working, taking notes, and photos and doing research and on the move. In Hvar, we didn't do any photowalks, I didn't bring my camera to the beach or while exploring around the island, and I have to say Hvar was the perfect place to have a real vacation! Have you been to Hvar? #hvarcroatia#hvar#hvarisland
I'm beginning to do a bit of a recap of my travels from 2018, starting summer. First up is Dubrovnik, Croatia. This is the view from the wall of Dubrovnik over the old town, a medieval maze of red roofs and cobbled streets home to boutiques and gelaterias and wine bars, but also laundry lines full with white dresses and open windows through which daily life unfolds. Have you been? #dubrovnik#dubrovnikoldtown

On this trip to Sri Lanka, I had the chance to go whale watching in Mirissa. It was a long long day- the tour and our time on the boat lasted 7 hours!! Rocking away on the Indian Ocean when you've woken up at 5am isn't the best 😞. We caught up on sleep for a large part of the tour and were also rewarded with sightings of the elusive blue whale, so that was successful! On the way back, the light grew softer and I took this photo that I love. Sri Lanka is so beautiful everywhere you look! ❤️ #sponsored#tbcasia#cinnamonhotels#srilankan#srilanka#inspiringmoments#ptba#srilankanairlines#flysrilankan#iflysrilankan
