Confession... I’m starting our new workout a couple days late. But I DID start it! Today! And I loved it. I’d seen other ladies post about getting emotional at the end and I assumed I wouldn’t; I don’t usually get choked up too easily. I didn’t think a workout would do it. Aaaand I was wrong. His message at the end is so kind and lovely and encouraging. It helped me take a minute to appreciate how strong I am in this moment. It takes strength to look in the mirror and maybe not be totally happy with what you see, but to decide that you’re worth the effort to reach your goals! 💖💪🏼🌟

So of course, so have I 😬 - No matter how much people warned me, I wasn’t prepared. Pile the holidays on top of that and you have a recipe for disaster. - I didn’t go COMPLETELY off the deep end but I can’t say I was proud of the food and lifestyle choices I’ve made over the last couple months. - Whatever. Life happens and sometimes you lose a few battles. The good news is, I have some amazing support from the rest of our challengers. I was far from perfect today. I had an extra cookie, a late night snack, and a helping of delicious spaghetti. (I’m avoiding carbs as much as possible.) and I didn’t even get my walk in. But as much as I wish I had a little more self control today I’m also very proud that my whole mind set has changed. I know that a couple of not so great choices do not justify “giving up” or “starting over.” I’m still going strong and my body is changing every day. Three months ago I would have beaten myself up for a day like today and then thrown away all my progress over chicken nuggets. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m here because I want to be better, not perfect. I had a great pull day, but still have plenty of chub around the waist to keep working on! I’m actually really enjoying the grind so far! I’ve doing been doing 4-5 sessions of either 15 minutes of HIIT or 40 minutes of low intensity cardio (ie..walking the dog) on top of my usual lifting split, and making some decent progress. 💪 Day 12 of the @bodybuildingcom #bbcomchallengeseries transformation challenge.

Okay. That workout was bananas! 🍌 I stopped a bunch of times. My booty burned. And I may have tripped on my make-shift step a few times and scared the crap out of myself. But I finished. It doesn’t matter if it’s hard, if you slip, if you fall, if you have to stop for a few extra seconds to catch your breath and reshift your mind and body. What matters is you get back into it. I was on the go a lot today o.o and had to catch up on sleep. 😴😴 so, not the best choices... But I did calorie count, and I ate under what Samsung Health recommended. I also broke it up into 6 "meals" which is good. I have a bad habit of eating all my calories in one or two meals which is bad for your blood sugar, and encourages me to binge. Little steps 🤷🏼 I'm an emotional eater. I have issues experiencing emotions and food activates the pleasure center... So working on rewriting that. Anyways.. Got in my 2nd workout today with Transform 20 💪🏻 🔥💦 I love that they’re only 20 minutes!! I can easily squeeze in multiple workouts through the day! It’s perfect for my stay-at-home #momlife! I know it’s only Day 3, but this is a badass program! Makes you dig so deep inside to push through.. and the feeling after is “Holy SHIT I can’t believe I just did that!” I’m excited for tomorrow!! 🎉

I was the girl in her early twenties who spent wildly. I was always annoyed with my friends who never would go out to eat or go have drinks. I thought “just put it on a credit card”. I would buy whatever clothes I wanted and buy whatever the latest and greatest thing everyone had on the internet. Looking back I was dumb. I racked up so much credit card debt that I couldn’t pay it off. I would make a $400 payment and then get hit with a $300 interest charge. I felt like I was drowning. That is when I asked my banks help and consolidated my debt. Talk about an embarrassing moment to have to do that. The shame I felt that I am only in my early twenties and put myself in such a deep hole of debt. Even after consolidating I still put on over 7,000 dollars on the 24% interest credit card. Not my finest moment. This time around however I have learned, I have missed out on so many opportunities to save for a house, save for the things in life that pop up randomly, save for trips to see family, sister, or just explore the world. I am down to one credit card out of so many. I am down to my last $6,000 to pay off. It is so close I can taste it! Knowledge is power and reading financial books is helping me build that knowledge. Helping me become more financially smart so that once I pay off this debt I can start learning how to properly invest my money. So I can learn what I need to do to retire comfortably, be able to provide for a family without concern of when the next paycheck will come, so I can finally be free of financial burdens. It is a long slow road to recovery from credit card debt but I finally feel like I am on the right path. What are you doing to be financially free?
