Don’t workout like an asshole. ⠀ Last year we had zero injuries. I mean ZERO! ⠀ During any of the workouts, online or in person, everybody was working out extremely smart. ⠀ I like to think this is because I have the most amazing and patient people that I work. ⠀ But what does that really do for you? ⠀ Why should you be injury free? ⠀ So you can be like Chris Traeger. ⠀ Each day that you can exercise is another day added day to your health. If you can’t get up and move, how to do you expect to go to work? ⠀ Here are some things that you can do to help yourself stay injury free. ⠀ Warm ups are extremely important part of the workout. Actually the most important in my opinion. If you don’t warm up, your body ain’t gonna be ready for a workout. The chances of you pulling a muscle are gonna go up and that won’t feel good at all. ⠀ It’s easy to get caught up in these fancy workouts and exercises, but you need to focus on the basics. The “simple” movements that might seem boring are what give you a strong foundation and give you the chance to be able to workout for a lifetime! ⠀ Slow and steady wins the race. Never get to ahead of yourself or try to keep up with Nancy at the gym. This is about you, and no one else. ⠀ And maybe the most overlooked part, listen to your body! If you’re not feeling it, it’s ok to switch your workout or maybe it’s a day for some light cardio. You know if you’re ready to give 100%, and you know when you’re ready to give 50%! ⠀ Don’t train like an asshole and stay safe my friends!
Thank you so much for all the workout music suggestions!  Last week I confessed I had tried working out to music for the first time, well I’ve been compiling a workout mix since then. I tried to listen to every suggestion I received and I added some of my own to come up with my ultimate workout playlist.  I named it Wilderness Athlete, since I am in the middle of the @wilderness_athlete 28 Day Challenge.  Just like my music tastes, my playlist is really nicletic, part girl power, part hard core, part stripper, part Tennessee Ernie Ford:) If you want to see what I have so far check out my stories. Alright everybody - I’m letting you all in on one of my biggest 2019 #rungoals (as if you were dying to know 😂): a sub-2 hour half marathon. To date, my best time was at the @marinecorpsmarathon Historic Half back in 2016, when I ran 2:07 (my last half marathon was the @mightyniagarahalfmarathon 2 months after surgery in 2016, where a ran a personal worst record of 2:28 😬). I plan on running either the Historic Half again in VA or the @buffalomarathon half. Either way, I WILL get a sub-2 this time! I’m excited to start training far ahead of schedule so I can be in the best shape possible for race day. I’m doing @sweatwithstudio’s Half Marathon training with @shellyramoni, and structuring the remaining runs of my week around this plan. I’m also going to cross train by sticking to my lifting plan and teaching my cardio dance class at @vitalitybuffalo (which is only $20 for every Saturday in February, btw 😉) What are your 2019 run goals? Here is a variation of heavy reverse lunges with a 4 second isometric hold at the bottom of each lunge. In the beginning phases of a training program I really like to utilize isometrics to work on form, hypertrophy, strength, and increasing time under tension.

Vanilla + cherries yogurt 🍒  #cocomademedoit #keepitsimple #cocofitness  Any yogurt that isn’t plain can easily have 15-20g of sugar per serving.  On the other hand, plain Yogurt doesn’t taste that great. 🥣What I often do is mix 1-1 plain Yogurt with any flavoured yogurt. 🍒 Here, I’ve mixed vanilla Greek yogurt and plain Greek yogurt. I added some chopped almonds and fresh cherries. 💡 When you buy yogurt, try to aim for 8g of sugar or less... but that’s pretty much impossible, unless it’s plain.

How has my training program changed since I started dieting?  It hasn’t. @edubarrecheguren talked about this on his stories last night and it’s an important point to note. ‘Are you chasing fatigue or performance?’ Adding a load of supersets, dropsets, crazy amounts of volume etc. Isn’t beneficial. And adding jump squats, lunges etc between your weighted sets DEFINITELY isn’t.🙅🏼‍♀️ Keeping sensible rest times and a structured training program should remain, even when trying to lose fat. Fat loss will come from being in a calorie deficit, not a crazy training program with ridiculous amounts of volume.  So, my program stays the same, I have a step target to keep my expenditure high and I’m tracking my food to make sure I’m in a calorie deficit. This is the year I turn 51!  Geeez time flies .. I can see why people LOVE their 50’s though!  Especially if you have come to realise that you are capable of anything as long as you consistently keep working towards it no matter what the hurdles. 📝 Do you track your training?? 🏋🏻‍♂️ _ For the longest time I never tracked my training.. 🤦🏻‍♂️ little did I know, how much valuable information I failed to notice. 😩 😭 _ Dont Let this happen to you.. If you are serious about weight training, I highly recommend you keep a training log.. _ Most of us won’t remember how many reps or sets we did on deadlifts, squats or bench press the previous week.. A training log will take care of that for you.  _ Keeping a log will help you with an accurate record in what you really did, hold you accountable and push you to crush your previous training numbers.. _ Tracking my training has become a blueprint for me.. I have experience great results. DAY 13 OF LFG PROGRAM Home workout (Day 503 of fit plan) . . I took my workout log I've been tracking on my phone in my sticky notes and printed it out. The text was getting too long and I was afraid of losing it if my phone died. . . This is how I keep track of when I workout. You'll also see some extra stuff here and there like my macros at the time and body fat%. I wish I would've took note of my body fat% more often, but didn't till more recently on a different sticky note in my phone. . . Keeping track of what you did helps you find out what worked and what didn't and keeps you from doing it again if you forget that it didn't work. Want bigger biceps? This move right here is a must! Once you stretch out a rubber band it never returns to its original size. Muscles are a lot alike the more you stretch them and especially under tension the more they expand and grow. - Laying on a flat bench grab a pair of dumbbells. At the bottom of the movement is an incredible stretch, pause briefly at the stretch (while in control) palms up curl and squeeze/flex all the way up. 🔥🔥🔥 - 3 sets 10 reps. I would save these for the final exercise for biceps! ‼️THE SQUAT ‼️ To start with the minor ,I believe in terms of the core stimulation you gain from performing the squat, it’s definitely up there as one of the best if not the best !  This comes from having to stabilise the weight on your back while performing the squat meaning your core is to be fully engaged in order to stop your body crumbling under the weight . As for the benefits in terms of training your legs  The king!! Being a huge compound exercise , meaning it recruits more muscle than one to perform it meaning better overall leg work  Strong legs make for a strong body ! TAGASISIDE... 19.01 2019 (allpool ka minu vastus kliendile)  Tere!  Mõtesin, et mis seal ikka saadan siis ka tulemuse. Kui nüüd ausalt ära rääkida siis 2018 Märts lendas pükstelt nööp ära. Astudes kaalule oli seal ees 84kg, normaalne mehe kaal ju!!! Siiski mitte. Kava tellisin ma vist Mais (ei mäleta ja polegi oluline). Nagu iga algus oli ka see algus natuke võõras ja kuhu sa jätad oma sõbrad, Rummikoksi,Mactasty ja AleCoqi 😞  Ühel ilusal Juuni hommikul ärkasin ma ylesse, võtsin kava ette ja mõtlesin, et nüüd ongi nii ja nii ongi. Lisaks korralikule toitumisele peaks ju veel nagu midagi tegama...hmm hakkaks jooksma. Väga vaimustuses ei olnud aga idee oli ju hea.  Peapael pähe,adidress jalga ja nii ta läks. Alguses 2km siis 5km ja lõpuks nagu noor Kreeka jumal, 10km nii et ei saanud arugi. Yhesõnaga ega mu jutt ei huvita tegelikult kedagi ja ma võingi kirjutama jääda.  Ma nüüd ei tea, kas ma tegin midagi totaalselt valesti või isegi natuke õigesti ja kui ma ei eksi siis kukkus mu kaal 84kg pealt 71kg peale ja seda kõike 1 kuu ja mingi nädal või paar sinna peale. Igaljuhul mina olen rahul ja tänan 🙂  Vastus... Tere!  Tànan tagasiside eest. Tulemus on vàga hea. See, et kaal nii kiirelt kukkus nàitas, et ainevahetust polnud sa suutnud veel endise elustiiliga pekki keerata nô. Ka oli kiire kaalulanguse pôhjus suuresti liigses vedelikus mida keha kinni hoidis valesti toitudes ja vàhe liikudes.  Kui siia pisut veel lihastreeningut ka nyyd lisada oleks pilt mega, aga seda otsustad muidugi ise.  Muskel pole peamine. Kôige tugevam muskel on vôi peaks olema aju ja selle oled sa elustiili muutmisega saanud vàga heasse vormi. Seda kinnitab ka see et oled pm pool aastat juba suutnud vormi ilusti hoida. From a general clinching position, Sophia momentarily breaks my grip, taking advantage of my lack of defence and delivering a powerful,  heavy, sharp elbow to the middle of what would be my face.
