Fitness in today’s society has become incredibly sexualized. Rather than promoting the appeal of taking care of our bodies and health and advocating the internal benefits behind a healthy lifestyle, it has become all about the aesthetics. So rather than becoming healthier and fit for our own good, we compare ourselves to these perfect photoshopped bodies we see everywhere. I think chasing an aesthetic is great for a motivational standpoint, but setting that as your ultimate goal can be detrimental to your mental health in the long run and serve to be an unhealthy perspective. There are so many benefits to living a fit lifestyle — productivity, self-confidence, stronger immune system, better digestion and skin...honestly the list goes on ✨

train street, hanoi. this is a residential street with some shops and bars and cafes too, and several times a day, a train comes barreling down it and everyone packs up and goes inside for a minute or two while it passes. if you're not inside, you have to squeeze up against the wall. and then right after, everything goes back to normal, like it never happened.

Standing Cable Pullovers‼️ Had some requests to go over this movement again. If you watch the video closely you will notice 4 things 1️⃣There’s no bend in my elbows throughout. 2️⃣I maintain flat back throughout(no rounding). There’s a time for that, just not with this. 3️⃣My torso moves in a seesaw motion. I move my chest/torso up when the cable moves down and do the opposite when the cable goes up. 4️⃣There’s a pause and squeeze at the bottom, and the tempo going back up is very slow(slow negatives 🔑)
