I recently attended a course on the art of slowing down, the group sat in a half circle as we were asked to get into the room and warm up to being there. I was amazed at how easy it was to access my mind once I was sitting, without distraction, in the room and been given permission to listen to connect back in with myself. I could hear my inner dialogue. So often we are distracted or distract ourselves with social media, activities, achievements, things we need to do. That we don’t give ourselves the space to just sit and listen, to no one else but, ourselves. It was amazing what I had to say to myself about how I was feeling. Try setting an alarm for 5 minutes and just sit, giving yourself permission to just listen, not act, on your thoughts.
