Found this book at a used book sale for $6! 🤭 I couldn’t say no obviously! I snagged a few others in that book haul that I’ll share later! I confess that I buy books way quicker than I can read them 😂 What’s your guilty purchase addiction?! 🤑
I think I need a break from the old domestic thriller! Feeling a bit burnt out (I’ve started rolling my eyes at dumb characters) 📚BOOK REVIEW📚 This book had a lot of promise! A unique premise, a different approach to the usual domestic thriller format, that I really appreciated. The writing is light and easy to read, moves along quickly and is pretty seamless given there are two authors. The execution is nothing new, especially in this genre. There's obvious red herrings, characters saying pointed things to guide you in the wrong direction and an ending that fits convention for this genre pretty well. But, extra points for the final few pages that wrapped the story up in a really impressive way. It was a quick, fun read, and I'll read more from this duo again. Thanks #netgalley for this ARC!
Book Review #5 - The Girl in 6E by Alessandra Torre Verdict: 📖📖📖📖📖 I’m a very picky reader, but this book had me hooked. Intense, unique, and absolutely exceptional. Torre breaks stereotypes and crosses instances of taboo in a way that deserves a round of applause. The protagonist is not only a sex worker, which in itself is a socially controversial topic, but also experiences intense homicidal urges. As much as her blood thirst is a disturbing concept, I liked how it broke the portrayal of men, exclusively, as aggressive and dangerous. This book is unapologetically uncensored, both in terms of language and sexual descriptions. It’s real and sincere. Deanna speaks like a 21-year-old woman who doesn’t mess about. On top of that, her mental illness is very well described, albeit somewhat exaggerated. She’s so aware of it, so desperate to fight it, and I feel that makes it even more realistic. Everything about this book is raw, and I love it. The action scenes leave you on the edge of your seat, the romance keeps your interest peaking, and the character development is incredible. #bookstagram#bookblogger#currentlyreading#bookstagrammer#bookreview#bookrecommendations#bookworm#library#literature#bibliophile#thegirlin6e#thegirlin6eseries#alessandratorre#honestbookreview#review#thoughts#crimebooks#thrillerbooks
Costco haul! A few months ago I put “Dear Wife” on my TBR on Goodreads & never really thought about it again until I saw @the__reading__beauty raving about it the other day. I saw someone post about ‘Wherever She Goes’ recently but I can’t remember who it was!! (anyone know???) I grabbed ‘Paranoid’ because it was just there & I’ve never read a Lisa Jackson book before. Have you read any of these??
