"Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day. It is a choice based on the knowledge that we belong to God and have found in God our refuge and our safety and nothing, not even death, can take God away from us." ~ Henri Nouwen 🖤QOTD: What is something - anything, big or little, that brings you joy? Sharing one of my favorite Redwall books in case anyone forgot I love them. These books have all of my hearts-oh wait, I'm not a Timelady (alas). These books have my whole heart forever.
#repost @rebeccas.reading.rambles ・・・ 📖BOOK REVIEW📖 Murder’s No Votive Confidence || Christin Brecher ✨ Genre - Cozy Mystery _ Do you ever read a book and halfway through you're already thinking that this will be a new favorite series? I will admit this actually doesn't happen to me that often, but this time I truly loved it from the first chapter. _ Stella Wright, also known as "The Candle Lady" on Nantucket owns a candle shop and lands a job creating candles for Jessica and Joe's wedding weekend. Very much the perfectionist, she has an idea for a last minute change and as she's visiting the happy couple staying at the local inn, she unfortunately discovers the dead body of the bride's uncle. As Stella talks to more of the guests and wedding party, she starts discovering that people are hiding secrets that might prove viable motives for murder. _ I loved Stella right away; her creativity and passion for her candle-making business won be over quickly. Her need to protect her friends and her business showed how fierce she is and of course her sass had me smiling all throughout. I enjoyed the tidbits about her candle making class and her thought process for developing scents. The setting is just perfect for a cozy mystery - Nantucket Island at the start of summer. _ The conclusion to the story was fast paced and full of surprises! I did not guess even half of the secrets and complicated plots that were involved. I already cannot wait to continue with this series and enjoy more of this fun, cozy writing! These characters and Nantucket setting have my heart already! _ Thank you to the publisher for a copy of this stunning novel. I was happy to give my honest thoughts. _ 10⭐️/10 _ For the full review and more, check out my Goodreads | the link is in my profile! #reviewsbyrebecca . . . . . . . . . . #bookstagram#booklove#bibliophile#bookgeek#readmore#bookish#booknerd#bookphotography#readersofinstagram#bookworm # #bookblog
• Hey everyone! I’m obsessed with this Caraval candle by @flickthewick 😍it smells so good and I can’t wait to read Caraval with it open (because I don’t burn bookish candles lol) but anyways, I only have 5 more school days and then I can read all summer yayyyy!! QOTD: favourite bookish candle you own? Or if you don’t have one, what’s one you want to buy? AOTD: probably my Warcross candle!!
Good afternoon everyone! . I finished The Near Witch by V.E. Schwab yesterday and I loved it! It was my first Schwab book and I can’t wait to read more! The pacing and the writing was wonderful, and I’ve learned that I don’t have to have super fast writing to enjoy a book. Ex. When I read Harry Potter, I read it so fast that I gobble it up, because the writing is quick and exciting. The Near Witch (to me anyway) is like a lullaby, it’s interesting but so cosy and lovely to read. The story is not slow, the writing just takes its time. (Does this even make sense to anyone else lol) Though I have to say, the word “Moor” appeared about 700 times 😂 . Anyways, I finished doing a deep clean of my room, I’ve made homemade iced tea, and now I’m trying to decide what to do with the rest of my day. I’ll probably finish watching Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, and write a review on The Near Witch that I’ll put up at some point. I’m trying to write more/detailed reviews and put them up both on here and Goodreads! (Link to Goodreads is in my bio!) ✨ ✨ Q. What’s a skill you want to learn? ✨ ✨ A. I’ve always wanted to learn piano, and I’m slowly learning! I can now play a very simplified version of Hedwig’s Theme, as well as some kid songs, but hey we all have to start somewhere! I also want to learn how to sew and embroider! I bought a hoop and fabric ages ago and did a flower and bumblebee, but I’ve yet to complete it! (Pictured)
Hay árboles más vivos que personas. 🍁 Hola lectores!

Reviews and ratings are coming soon! ⠀ What is the longest brake you took from IG? ⠀ P. S. Many thanks to my mother for the beautiful peonies😍! I'm at work, so probably no novel progress today, but I made a lot of good progress yesterday, which I am very pleased with. The holes are being filled in, and my characters are [finally] taking shape. I'm feeling good about this project again.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Even though I don't type my characters too early on the enneagram, it has been so helpful for me to read about all of the different types in depth to get a feel for different peoples' core motivations--not in stories, but in life. Which, when developing characters, is where I like to start. I always try to avoid crafting characters who feel as if they only exist to serve the plot. Instead, I want it to feel as if they have a life outside the story, and the plot has merely interrupted it. I always like to ask myself: "What would this person be doing if the story never happened to them?"⠀ .⠀ .⠀ How about you guys? What's new with your WIPs? @profil_knjiga

“It's not like in the movies. It's better, because it's real.” – Jenny Han, To All the Boys I've Loved Before ~ • Happy Tuesday! It’s finally getting warmer and sunnier outside, so I’m planning to spending my afternoon in the garden doing some reading. One book that instantly gives me summer vibes is To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before ☀️ I also can’t wait for the movie sequel to come out! What’s a book that really reminds you of summer? 💛
Recommendations for #pride month! . . I’ve seen Red, White, & Royal Blue and Girls of Paper and Fire recommended for pride month multiple times, so I decided to snag my own copies of them! I’m excited to ready all of these (Red, White & Royal Blue looks like the perrrrrfect summer read omg). . . These other few also have LGBT+ representation. I’m loving the fact that sci-fi and fantasy are becoming more diverse not only in characters but also in authors.
ℚ𝕠𝕥𝔻: If you were a Hogwarts professor, what would you teach? ⚡✨ • I feel like I'd teach Care of Magical Creatures. But also History of Magic would be up there. I love plants and would like to say Herbology, but I can hardly keep a succulent alive, so... 🤷 • 🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙 • Swipe ➜➜➜ to see a little video I took while in Scotland last summer of the Glenfinnan Viaduct, also known now as The Harry Potter Bridge thanks to several HP movie scenes being filmed in and around this area, and notably the Hogwarts Express. 🚂🚂🚂 • • We also saw where they filmed the water scenes in The Goblet of Fire, as well as Hagrid's Hut, and The Forbidden Forest. I felt like the start of my summer backpacking through Europe was filled with HP filming sites, often unintentionally through the UK and Germany, too. • As you may have seen from my stories, I had a megaunboxing today from orders as well as a giveaway win from Kelsea at @anovelescape . The bookmark is one of the many prints I received. It almost felt like Christmas. 🎄 If you're interested, they're all under my story highlights called, "Merch Unboxings." I hope some of you enjoyed it. It was quite long. 🙈 • 🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙🌿🌙 • The wonderful @s.theavidreader tagged me to do the #goodthingsgooddays tag. Hello peeps! Story time, yesterday, I went cycling along the side of the paddy field and guess who kept us company? I'm scared of dogs, I'm just gonna put it out here (I was chased by one when I was 5!) But this girl here just followed us around and she kept posing as if hinting us to take her photos. So wish granted! 😂 Random question: How do you feel about dogs or cats? Featured in my post is The Girl Who Came Out of The Woods by Emily Barr, read a few chapters and the story really got me intrigued. Thank you @times.reads for sending this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

"A bisavó de Lexi era 'Senhora do Jogo' dos negócios. Mas o jogo tinha mudado. Quando eu for presidente, vou jogar sob novas regras." Pág. 278 . A Senhora do Jogo Autores: Sidney Sheldon e Tilly Bagshawe Editora: Record 461 páginas 3/5 🌟 .
• Hey everyone! Another puggle picture because you guys seem to love them☺️so I’ve just been studying as usual but in one week I can read as much as I want!!! I can’t wait omg. QOTD: what’s an upcoming release you’re excited for? AOTD: so everyone knows mines rebel but I’m also dying for Fountains of Silence!!
QOTD: Favorite underrated series? I have so many favorite underrated series'. Most of the books I adore, actually, are not well known. 🙊 The River of Time series, The Cassidy Jones Adventures, Castaways of the Flying Dutchman, The Wilderking Trilogy, The Ascendance Trilogy... The list goes on. I can name dozens of series that I adored that very few have heard of or know. But sometimes the little known series' are the best ones. So I'd love to hear some of your favorite unpopular series or books! Another underrated series I love is @melodyjacksonauthor's Dragons' Bane. They're such fun reads and her characters are deep and complicated and have so many layers to peel back. If you haven't checked them out, she has a sale going right now where you can get signed copies for a very cheap. 😉 Which I have to say is a rather fabulous deal. So do go support her and buy a few copies while they're on sale. I just finished my reread of the first 3 books in the River and Time Series and now I need to find the fourth book to finish off the series. 😉 It's been fun rereading though; I'm rather fond of a good reread of a favorite series. 💙
So hands up if you've ever picked up a book or bought a book based only on the cover?? If you haven't you are so lying, I'm guilty of this a lot. I can't help it, an attractive cover is quite important to me. There's nothing worse than a great book with an average cover. - In my latest video I'm sharing just 10 of my collection of #bookswithbeautifulcovers, oh yeah...there'll definitely be a part 2 Link in the bio 🎥 - - - #booktube#booktalk#youtuber#bookstalove#bookgeek#ilovebooks
"I've taken knives, bullets, and too many punches to count, all for a little piece of this town," said Kaz. "This is the city I bled for. And if Ketterdam has taught me anything, it's that you can always bleed a little more." ________ I miss the Dregs so much, oh my god, I just want to reread this series already and I only read it in March! Who's your favourite of the Crows and why? 😏 Mine are Kaz and Inej, I would die for them, they're so precious 😭 _______ #bookreadhappyhour - You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you - Kaz would say that tbh

💭Do you like psychological thrillers? . Outside of fantasy, they are my favorite to read! It’s actually what I’ve been reading most lately! . Thanks to @getredpr I have a new title to add to my list of thrillers to read! And it sounds AMAZING! . Summary: Skylar Haines has struggled with personal demons most of her life, going to dark extremes to subdue anxieties rooted in her tragic past. On a perpetual hunt for the next adrenaline hit, she discovers a passion for flying and becomes a hard-edged stunt pilot, verging on obsession. In the sky, following her most daring airshow, she encounters a mysterious storm and almost collides with another aircraft, sending her into a perilous dive. Guided by a mysterious voice, she manages a safe landing but finds herself transported to another time. Eight months before she was born. One week before her father was murdered. Though baffled by her circumstances, Skylar soon arrives at a single certainty: Before her lies a remarkable chance to change her family's destiny drastically for the better -- or possibly even worse -- depending on the choices she makes, before her window of opportunity closes. . Doesn’t that sound good? I can’t wait to read it! 🤗
Do you gravitate toward different genres during summer or do you stick to what you usually read?☀️ I love reading contemporary during summer, but let’s be real, I read contemporary romance all year round 😂 I also tend to pick up more YA and new adult novels around this time and I plan to read Morgan Matson and Sarah Dessen books once my break starts! This week is going to be busy, I got home earlier today from a stint as an external examiner at a different school and I’m off again Wednesday and two days next week. Any recs for podcasts or audiobooks would be greatly appreciated, I’m going to spend a lot of time on the road ☺️ . . . . . #bookstagrammer#bookstagramfeatures#booknerdigan#booknerds#booknerd#booknerdigans#adamsilvera#bookster#readersofig #romancereader #thebridetest #bookstahygge#amillennialreads #ilovereadingbooks#ireadromance#romancenovels #romancereads#bookstagrammers#vscoreads #humansofbookstagram#themagicofbookstagram #instalivre#librariesofinstagram #helenhoang

#q: do you know where you got your love of books from? Family, a teacher, a librarian, happenstance? . . Sometimes I wonder where I got my obsession with books from. Then, as I’m scavenging around through my parents’ bookshelves, searching for books with orange bindings, I realised just who is to blame: my lovely, bookish parents, who taught me from a very young age the magic of books. . . There are some old & some new favourites in this pile right here, along with some I have yet to read (Priory I’m lookin’ at you, miss next-on-my-tbr).
