Friday night 🍝🍷 Lately I'm feeling much more confident taking you with me in my every day life. So tonight I shared on my stories what my actual Friday night look like. I took a shower and cooked a super quick and easy dinner (plus tomorrow's lunch). Fancy right? Nope. Not fancy. Realistic. I see all those picture perfect Instagram stories with people going on fancy events, with fancy dresses, drinking champagne and eating those tiny portions of food. My old self would be jealous of that... Well now I'd rather eat my spaghetti with tuna sauce, drink some wine and watch Netflix with John! And I actually love that! So I'm sharing it with you. And I'll keep sharing with you what I absolutely love even if it's not "fancy" for Instagram. People say "Instagram is a highlight reel". Well... let's CHANGE that. Let's make Instagram REAL! PS. Watch my stories for the recipe of this delicious spaghetti with tuna sauce 👌
Everyone has their go-to drink… my morning jumpstart of choice is lemon water! 🍋 I started drinking citrus-infused water with turmeric, pink Himalayan sea salt, and a dash of pepper to bring down inflammation. Although some people question the benefits of this drink, the pros outweigh the cons when done right. I love that I'm doing something for myself that feels good and sets a positive tone for the rest of my day. ☀️ See what this magical mix can do for you via @furthermore using the link in bio. What's your favorite morning ritual? #fearlessfriday
Swinging into the weekend and wishing I was still at the spa 🧖🏼♀️ Had the best treatment @lakeaustinspa earlier this week: The Star of India! You do a little personality questionnaire to figure out the best Ayurvedic herbs to use during your scrub, then you get a massage and wrapped in hot towels while you get an amazing warm oil treatment and head massage. Let’s just say it’s pure bliss and you should totally get it if you ever get a chance! Lake Austin Spa is dog-friendly and I had so much hanging out with Basil and @atasteofkoko during our visit! Thanks for snapping this pic, Jane!
Ritual is the space we give to ourselves to nourish our soul. A sacred practice of reflection and centring back into our heart. It is a rite of passage, a divining moment, a precious pause and intentional thought. ⠀ ⠀ The beauty of ritual is that it isn’t just one thing, or practiced in one way. It doesn’t have to be religious or secular, and if it is, that’s perfectly fine, too! It is completely personal to *you*. ⠀ ⠀ ... what ritual practices of any kind, whether religious, spiritual or not, give us a framework and foundation upon which to live and connect with something bigger than ourselves. Ritual reminds us that we belong. Most of all, it is a teaching of intentionality. First, you have to be clear about your “why”. Is it to connect with God or Mother Earth or a Goddess? Is it to ask for guidance or a message? Is it to honour the Full or New Moon? Is it to give thanks? A self love practice of appreciating the temple of your body and all that you are? Whatever the reason may be, intention is the thread that weaves you and the universe together. ⠀ ⠀ ⤀ Read the full blog post through the link in my bio ⠀ ⠀ PS. Happy Libra Full Moon, loves! 👁️ #seekingwithsonia
Good Friday ✨ - “My heart extols the Lord, blessed is His name forever. He has won my heart, captured my mind and has bound them both together. He has defeated me in my rebellion, conquered me in my sin. He has welcomed me into His presence, completely invited me in. • He has made Himself the object of my sight. Flooding me with mercies in the morning, drowning me with grace in the night. But if there are words for Him, then I don’t have them. • But what I do have is: GOOD NEWS. For my God knew that man-made words would never do. The words are just tools that we use to point to the truth. So He sent His Son Jesus Christ as THE Word, LIVING PROOF. • He is the image of the invisible God - the first born of all Creation. For by Him all things were created, giving nothingness formation. And by His Word He sustains in the power of His name, for He is before all things, and over all things He reigns. HOLY is His name! • So praise him for His life! The way he persevered in strife. The humble Son of God becoming the PERFECT SACRIFICE. Praise him for His death! That He willingly stood in our place, that He lovingly endured the grave, that He battled our enemy and on the third day rose in victory! • He is everything that was promised. Praise Him as the Risen King. Lift your voice and sing, for one day He will return for us and we will finally be united with our savior for eternity. • So it’s not just words that I proclaim. For my words point to The Word, and The Word has a name: ✨ HOPE has a name! JOY has a name! LOVE has a name! ✨ And that name is Jesus Christ” 💛 - Isaac Wimberley, Bethel Music
Hey you. Yeah you. The one with the bags under your eyes. The one that is living off very little sleep for months now. The one that gives yourself a pat on the back when you actually wash your face. The one that feels like they don’t deserve to be loved after the way they yelled at the kids earlier. The one that doesn’t understand why they are given so much grace because depression brings out the worst in them. The one that feels the heavy weight bearing down on their shoulders. You are needed. You are loved. You deserve all of it. Breathe in, Breathe out. Drink your tea. Breathe some more. This is a wild ride with ups and downs but the weight will lift. And the light will shine on you again. There is hope.
Take note of people, places and situations that leave you feeling loved, inspired and energized. Take note of people, places and situations that don’t. You and your time are valuable. Know your worth, then add tax. #mugmusings ☕️
Hoy, pido que la vida te siga dando oportunidades de crecer y que sigas siendo ese niño decidido y persistente. Ese que, a su tiempo y aún con miedo, al final siempre decide saltar. Que nada ni nadie te detenga nunca ♡. @babyfreshgt #ourcandidlife
Oh, how this one struck me in the gut! How often I’ve got to remind this busy mind of mine that it’s okay (good, even) to rest—not to have to “figure everything out.” (At least for right now.) . I’ve learned to thank that part of my mind for trying to keep me protected rather than judging it. . I thank it for wanting me to make ALL the logical (“right”) decisions, and keep me safe. . And I remind it that, for now, it’s okay to let things “be.” . The irony is that often it’s in the “just being” that the answers arrive 🤯 . Can anyone else relate to having a busy mind that’s always trying to figure things out?! 🙋♀️
Today feels like one of those perfect days where you wander through the country. Down old rambling roads, past farmhouses with clothes on the line, past little white churches with hard wooden pews. It feels like one of those days where you take in the beauty around us. Celebrating the beauty of Mother Nature. Thanking the universe for this life we’ve been given and taking a moment to cherish the little things in life. Today feels like a good day for Slow living.

Being productive is SO much more.....productive!😂 🦋💫 A couple of distinctions between being busy and being productive. I know I have experience with both, and the struggle of putting things off or “looking busy” can become a disease and leave us in a place of stagnancy. You’re not struggling with the goal, you’re struggling with the discipline to start, and you end up just playing the part.
Happy Good Friday!🌸 Playing catch up today preparing for Easter this weekend...I'm a bit behind since I was out of town all week.💕 My son-in-laws parents are in town so we get to have a party for the holiday!🎉 Looking forward to some family time. Our weekends are dedicated to family time. You may notice I'm pretty silent here on the weekends. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You won't typically see a Story or a post. I'm not liking and commenting. In fact, I wrote and scheduled this post earlier in the week because I'm about to get this weekend started! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It doesn't mean I don't want to show up here. There are times when I pick up my phone on a Saturday to see what's happening on social. Then I immediately set it down. It's a habit, and one I purposefully break on the weekend. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead, I'm present with my family. We play. We sometimes take a quick trip. We go to church. We talk about what we learned. Sometimes we snuggle on the couch and watch a movie. Other times we bake cookies or do a fun science experiment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Every weekend comes with new adventures, but one thing my family can count on from me is my full, undivided attention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm not perfect at it. But, whenever I feel tempted to check that notification, I just look into these little human beings eyes and think, "It doesn't matter. Today I'm with you." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you have time where you put the phone away and just be present? I want to hear from you in the comments! But be warned, I won't be responding until Monday. 😉
Remembering Jesus, my Lord, this Good Friday who was pierced for my transgressions; crushed for my iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought me peace, and with his wounds I am healed. Even more, so I can take part in the riches of heaven and know God, who is more precious and wonderous than this view before me. — Isaiah 53:5
Good Friday Service tonight at 7 p.m. at our place. We’re putting on the final touches this afternoon. It’s going to be a sweet time for all ages to remember Jesus’ death on the cross together and what it means for us.
