Here is the finished heart Flan and also Father's Day is every day , just like Mothers day is , we don't need advertisers to tell us when or how to appreciate Dads...the best gifts are those made from the heart not that a gift is needed in order to say appreciation . Also a Father is not the man who is related by blood , a Father is the man who is there on sick nights , on the first days of school , jobs, driving , bad days ,pep talks and yes those late night Walmart runs to get maxi pads !!! #flan#foodphotography#dessertporn#fathersdayweekend#homemade#sweetooth#realmenexist

♠️ [Yi Ji Fried Hokkien 🦐 Mee] - [•] If you’re on the local Hokkien Mee trail, then Yi Ji Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee (Yi Ji) would prolly be a pit stop on your list of must try’s at some point (it’s been profiled on pretty much every online food blog). - [•] Located at Mee Sek Food Court - also the very same coffee shop where the legendary Punggol Nasi Lemak is located at - in ulu Kovan (ulu for me at least), Yi Ji has acquired a loyal following over the years, mainly on account of its supposedly intensely spicy 🌶. - [•] True to form, I found during my visit to Yi Ji about a week back that the 🌶 (which actually felt more akin to 🇮🇩 sambal belacan) was indeed spicy, but not tongue-numbingly so as had been touted online (you may wish to bear in mind that my spice tolerance level is somewhat higher than the norm tho). - [•] I am not in the least a fan of White Bee Hoon, so I was slightly disappointed to note that a plate of Yi Ji’s Hokkien Mee came with twice as much Bee Hoon as compared with the Yellow Noodles. Thankfully, this was made up for the flavourful (and slightly sweet) stock and by the generous amount of seafood (🦐, 🦑 and 🦀-sticks) and lard thrown into the mix. The 🌶 also undoubtedly added a nice kick. - [•] On the whole, I was generally satisfied with Yi Ji’s (arguably unique) Hokkien Mee. Having said that, there is clearly room for improvement (less White Bee Hoon and more Yellow Noodles, perhaps?). The waiting time to get the dish was also somewhat long (approximately 10 or so minutes), though I recognise that this is because Yi Ji freshly prepares a dish only upon order. Me thinks that a 4.6/5 on the neshrating is merited, as such.
