¿Y vos?
I've been known (from time to time 😉) to create a solitaire just for the joy of it. With no specific client in mind, but with a clear design vision. This little beaut is the product of one of those inspired moments- and she's ready to ship! - Single Twig ring cast in 10k white gold, from a carefully prepared branch that I found when I was out exploring. This lovely solitaire is finished with a 14k white gold tapered setting and set with a 0.5ct (5mm) Moissanite. - Moissanite is such an incredible, ethical alternative to a diamond engagement ring- and if you've never heard of them I would definitely encourage you to learn more! Size 5 1/4 | $730 - DM if you think this beauty could be waiting for you. I can't believe no one has claimed it yet!
Do you love spoiling your pets? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Silly question. Of course, you do. We get so much joy from it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 43% of households have at least one dog, 38% have at least one cat and the Canadian pet industry is worth about $7 billion (food, supplies, and services). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's a huge industry with a huge environmental impact, there's no denying. So what can we do? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The most sustainable thing you can do to spoil your fur-friend is to spend time together, take them for a walk, play with them, ignite and engage their senses, stimulate their imagination - and yours by getting creative with making toys! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Toys are fun to buy for your pets but they usually come wrapped in packaging, can contain plastic squeakers, often made from virgin synthetic fibres, and cost a bajillion dollars. So why not make your own, save some waste and give your wallet a breather?! This can be as easy or challenging as you want. My craftiness teeters on embarrassing so I err on the side of super duper easy! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here's some ideas: grab some old t-shirts, you know, the ones hanging out in the back of your closet? Upcycle them into braided ropes for dogs. Or cut them up into tiny little strands then tie those onto the end of a stick and you have yourself a cat teaser/cat wand. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you're super crafty you can sew a stuffy using materials from around the house like old pillows and tissue paper from your wrapping supply for that crunchy sound dogs love and we hate 😉 The options are endless. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Treats are totally DIY-able too! Just remember, anything you can harvest from natural waste is more sustainable than buying/producing something new. Save that leftover grain from the bottom of the pot at dinner, mix it up with some peanut butter and pumpkin. Or save the veggie scraps and make zucchini carrot cookies.
DIYs always make me feel like I would have excelled at prairie life. Granted, they had no need for DIY makeup removers, but regardless of that, mixing up this batch made me feel over-confident in my homesteading skills. ⠀ ⠀ I love cruelty free and low waste things, but sometimes that combo is a tall order. Cruelty free options are becoming more common, but I still go back to this recipe time and again.⠀ ⠀ 1/4 cup distilled water⠀ 1 teaspoon tear-free baby shampoo⠀ 2-3 drops baby oil⠀ - Pour solution in a bottle and shake before every use.Pour on a washcloth and scrub, scrub, scrub!⠀ ⠀ As you may have predicted, Johnson's is not cruelty free. Try the Honest Company or CVS brand. No tears for you, no tears for the bunnies.
I really wanted a smoothie this morning. REALLY wanted one. Moments after dropping Lennox off at preschool as I was deciding where I was going to spend the first few hours of my work day, it popped into my mind. But to my dismay I had no extra jar in the car with me. My water jar was very full for the day ahead. Since I stopped drinking coffee a few years ago (switching to jars of herbal infusions) my consumption of single use beverage cups is, well, nonexistent. I really really try not to use plastic cups, even if it means not getting the drink at all. . The other thing is I'm on my second day of my period. I'm tired and grumpy and need self care but am too tired and grumpy to offer it to myself. I almost wasn't going to get the smoothie but I could already taste that cold fruity goodness and begrudgingly accepted the use of a plastic cup. . I decided on @farmandcoastmarket and almost cried when I was brought a delicious berry smoothie in a GLASS JAR with a PAPER STRAW!!!! What a wonderful surprise. Thank you Farm and Coast Market in Padanaram for making this sustainable choice! And the cheddar scone was really great too. .⠀ As I finished writing this post I realized that I currently have two boxes of jars in the back of my car that have still yet to be unloaded from my previous plant medicine class with @jennypriorherbals. 🤦🏻♀️ Another lesson in that the solutions are always there, you just have to be aware of them. . . . #fueledbyplants#tastygram#happybreakfast#realingredients#healthysmoothie#drinkyourfruits#juicey#summerdrinks#followyourdream#authenticself#betruetoyou#naturesmedicine#plantbasedmedicine#healingwithfood#healingfoods#feedyourbody #changestartswithyou #itstartswithyou #wastefreeliving #sustainablelifestyle #makelesstrash #choosetoreuse #alwaysbelearning #createyourreality #ecoconcious #zerowastegoals #womenwithambition #goingzerowaste #refusesingleuse#farmandcoastmarket ⠀

Only one week to go until our soft workwear crowdfunding will go live on @kickstarter. Our team has been busy developing our prototype into the final version and we have made 50 samples which we are giving to people who inspire us. Over the next weeks we will share their stories. Starting with our founder @hannahkromminga in this pic. She started developing the concept for Silfir in London in 2016 and moved to Berlin since to launch the idea. She says that what inspired her to embark on this journey was the search for something that would make people want to live a sustainable lifestyle out of choice, because it feels good and makes them happy from the inside out. For her the soft workwear is the outfit that stands for her belief in this perspective on people and the planet. 🌟
Our Copenhagen Fashion Summit talk is live! I was privelleged to talk to Stephen Fairchild (Chief Creative & Brand Officer, Pandora), Charlotte Eskildsen (Founder and Creative Director, Designers Remix) and Christopher Raeburn, Creative Director Raeburn and Global Creative Director Timberland. The questions I asked them are listed below and here is a preview of the first 5 mins. To see our 25 min chat click link in Stories. I LOVED moderating this chat! 🍃 Premise: Fashion designers hold the power, but how are they leveraging that power in their creative process to make items that we fall in love with and to make sustainability cool? 🍃 Q. Can you shed a light on the creative process within your respective brands and your level of involvement in product design? 🍃 Q: The aesthetic is what will make a consumer reach for one product over the other so should we even need to communicate about products sustainable attributes or is ‘hidden eco-design’ best? 🍃 Q: Consumers are becoming more vocal about their needs. Is the dialogue between designer and customer about sustainability becoming an important part of the design process when creating sustainable products for the market? 🍃 Q: Charlotte - does being at the steering wheel of your own brand allow you more freedom to use that creativity and can you be more confrontational in the process or do you feel so much more is at stake? 🍃 Q: Christopher, Stephen – being at the creative helm of global brands, what kind of challenges and opportunities do you face when it comes to delivering sustainable products? 🍃 Q: Has the increased attention on sustainability impacted the flow of your creative process in a positive or negative way? 🍃 Has there been a shift in how ‘easy’ it has become to find sustainable inputs and to design sustainably? 🍃 _______________________________________________________ #copenhagenfashionsummit#cpfs19#ethicalstyle

Aloha🌺! I did a beach/ocean clean up last Saturday, the #handsacrossthesand event to say NO to offshore drilling and YES to clean energy. Sadly I found a lot of human plastic crap including styrofoam. Hoomans could do much better than this, my paws are too small to pick up all the trash around. REFUSE SINGLE USE PLASTIC! It’s my planet too😿! #sustainablewednesday
Low waste living doesn’t need to be expensive. You can create your own travel kit with items you already have, or easily find some items at a secondhand store. . . Now, I have nothing against those wooden or bamboo cutlery sets, they are great for travel, hiking and are lighter. But, buying new items when you already have perfectly good ones isn’t necessarily a sustainable choice if that’s your objective. . . At the same time, I’m not going to sit here and judge you if you have bought new items to live a more sustainable life. I myself am guilty for doing that in the past and it took me a while to shift into this new mindset. I will definitely still support those wonderful companies who are making a switch to sustainable products and I think it’s a wonderful option for those who need it. It’s just important to find that balance. Now, before I buy anything new, I try to use it up, wear it out or see if I can borrow it. . . When you go about your day today, be conscious of the things that you bring into your life. Slowly but surely it will become a habit. And like I always say, making these habits are the building blocks to a low waste future 🌎💚 . . . . . #waronwaste#wastefree #ecolifestyle #ecoliving#ecofriendly #zerowaste#zerowastehome #zerowastegoals #goingzerowaste #zerowastelife#greenliving #sustainable #sustainablelifestyle #sustainability#sustainableproducts #plasticfree #lifewithoutplastic #planetorplastic#packagefree#choosetoreuse#reuse#reusable#ditchthedisposables#reducereuserecycle#bringyourowncontainer#zerowastekitchen#plasticfreeparty#lowimpact#lowwaste

We've been living by this rule for the last year and a half as we've gone through our decluttering process, and let me tell you, it's a life changer! When you truly love everything in your home, and when everything has a purpose and a place, your home becomes a lighter, more joyful, and relaxing place to be. 👉Some tips to get started: 1️⃣ Only purchase items that spark joy for their qualities: eco-friendliness, beauty, function. Don't make purchases "just because" or its "good enough", we all must start becoming more mindful consumers. 2️⃣ If you have multiples of something, only keep the one that suits your needs/values/desires the best. 3️⃣ Have a place for everything! When things are easy to find and to put away, you save yourself time and stress. 📣Please tell us! What is your favorite item in your home?? . . #wisdomwednesday
