2019 started with exams and stress that’s why I haven’t posted in a while but ... last weekend I went home and I had some great food as usual :) on Saturday I celebrated my birthday with my family at @ristoroladispensa and we had some great food! This is a musky octopus and mussels soup with fried Bread croutons 👌🐒

Every time we visited my grandpa in Brooklyn, he always always always had ravioli and a sauce cooking up on the stove. 🍝 Tonight, to honor him on the one year anniversary of his passing, my mom, sister and I made ravioli and a sauce. 🍅 Different kitchens, different states, different sides of the country.. but the same love of cooking that stemmed from the Italian roots of our beloved patriarch. 🌱
Happy Taco Tuesday! So I’m not really a taco girl I’m more of a burrito bowl lover. Nonetheless, this is my #tacotuesday situation. I got some nacho cheese Doritos lining my plate consisting of: • Sazon rice • My attempt at Al Pastor • lettuce • feta cheese • my homemade roasted corn salsa • Chipotle Gourmaise • sour cream • my homemade guacamole . . . . Romantic Sunday dinner!! And by romantic I mean I ate alone while my better half napped on the couch.❤️ . . 🐟 Salmon cooked with minced garlic, herbed salt, pepper and a little brown sugar. 400degrees for 25 minutes or until flakey with a fork. Yay healthy fats!! . . . 🥬 Mixed greens with cucumber and navel orange. Dressing was balsamic vinegar, olive oil, the juice from half an orange, pepper, Rosemary and a little maple syrup for sweetness. Of course I added black sesame seeds for appearance and a little extra hormone supporting fats. 😋. . . 🍚 Jasmine rice rinced and cooked with 1 Tbsp of coconut oil and herbed salt. My parents and the better half say I make the best rice but really all I do is sub coconut oil instead of butter or margarine, so since the secret is already out: I always cook 1 cup rinced rice in 2 cups water, with the coconut oil and salt or herbed salt. Boil and turn the heat to simmer for 25 minutes, take off the heated element and let sit on the stove for another 5 mins. The whole meal took only about 35 minutes to prepare and cook.
