One of the questions I hear the most from new clients is, “Is this enough?” Unfortunately so many of us have been programmed to think that we have to be working out ALL of the time to get “results”. •• The truth is that shifting our thoughts and approaches around exercise and nutrition to a place of NOURISHMENT and not of DEPRIVATIONS is what actually gets the BEST mental and physical results. ••• Nourishment isn’t starving ourselves NOR is it eating all of the things all of the time. It sure ain’t exercising ourselves to death any more than it is avoiding movement. ••• Nourishment is LARGELY about muting all the many messages we are being bombarded with daily about what we need to do. ✅It’s getting quiet in our heads and in our bodies, to listen to what WE actually need. ✅It’s reaching out to knowledgeable, reliable professionals that are concerned about our wellness and not about convincing us they can help us drop 5 lbs in a week. ✅It’s becoming disciplined in the habits that make us feel good EVEN when they are work. ✅It’s resting so that we can recover from our work and get back at it. ••• We think that there have been period of times when we were EXTREME in our fitness and nutrition practices and we temporarily lost weight that THAT is the system that worked and we just have to get BACK to that. ••• I can assure you that if that worked, you’d still be doing it! ••• What works best is OFTEN the least sexy and most LOGICAL approach. ••• -Train for strength -Walk for (mechanical and emotional) stress relief -Move for fun and resilience -Eat for nourishment -Sleep for recovery and better results -Serve and love others ••• Kettlebells For Cool Kids-my 12 week strength and confidence building program is ON SALE now! I’ve always done something that has gotten me out of the house, doing something that was both physical and mental, pushing myself to exceed who and what I was the previous day. Because of that, I’ve constantly developed an appreciation for what my body can do, rather than obsess about what my looks aren’t. While I may enjoy dressing up every once in a while, you won’t catch me spending hours each and every day covering every “flaw” I might have just to feel good in my skin. My hair is in a ponytail so much I wonder why it hasn’t figured out how to do it on its own. Half my laundry consists of beat-up tank tops and faded leggings. And I am HAPPY with who I am. If every little girl on the world could be encouraged to do sports, or even to find something that they are passionate about and which allows them to transcend the materialistic expectations to which the female gender has been bound for far too damn long... can you imagine?
