Afternoon workouts are totally not my jam.  Not sure how some of  you ladies do it!  You seriously are amazing! . If I had to drive to the gym today, at 4 pm, that workout totally would have been skipped.  But because I just have to raise my finger to press play and sweat for literally 20 minutes there was no excuse I could come up with that was good enough! . Ladies you all need this program in your life!  It’s hard and fun all at the same time!  Extra hard when you use a step the size of a small mountain! 🤣🤣🤣. . 27 days left till I get to do this type of workout 6 days a week for 6 weeks!  I cannot wait! *Warning long post ahead about the holidays not being so Jolly. 🎄 . . This person was high on meth when he attempted to drown his newborn daughter.  This is the kind of thing that triggers me, and it will stick with me the rest of the day 😔 I am terrified for my children to go with their father because of the unknown.  He has shocked me so many times, I can’t help but to find my mind running wild when I think of the well-being of my children. . . The holidays are happy for most, but I am coming to realize Christmas brings a lot of terrifying memories.  I spent several Christmases in agony over my ex-husband who one year cheated on me, one year I discovered was using meth (and still uses today), and one year attempting to commit suicide with me on the phone. . . I felt ashamed for so long over the failure of my marriage, ashmashed that my kids’ dad was a full-blown addict, ashamed that I had given him wayyyy too many chances. . .  I hope one person reads this and knows, there’s no reason to be ashamed.  God does not want us to suffer “for the kids.” And yes, it Fing sucks so damn bad, but today is so much better. . . Everything IS so much better now.  I have found the love of my life, and my children are happy... I should be singing Mariah Carey at the top of my lungs. But,  the cuts are deep. Yet, I am still breathing.  I think it’s ok to recognize the ill-feelings and then move past it. T I M E. 🍍What do you do most with your time? What would you adjust that if you could? 🎄 I used to prioritize my time on work. Work would always come first & I would often wake up at 4 in the morning to do things for work. But when it came time for me or for my family I would always put that second and although I loved my job I would never think of putting my necessities & health first. __________________________ I don't know if (I hope 🤓) you saw my story from yesterday or my IGTV, but yesterday I did some work from bed hung out with my daughter- then my husband came home surprisingly a little bit early and we went to Waikiki, on the other side of the island, had dinner, did some shopping and had some quality T I M E together. __________________________ I then came home and after Lani-Lu went to bed I did my short workout, and although I only planned on doing half of it, in the middle (story out on my IGTV & Stories N O W🎄🍍🌴) I just felt so great I got the inspiration to continue it because I choose what I do with my T I M E. __________________________ The best part is I spend it N O W on my passion- making myself & other humans create more time for what we love & feel our best through our own actions.  __________________________ What do you do with your time - & how would you adjust that? Partner for life 😍 💪😘💕#swolemate  I’m going to brag for a moment. This man has amazed me. No matter what life throws at him he grows and learns from it. Moving states has made our marriage stronger and has brought me out of my shell in so many ways. I’m conquering goals and dreaming of things I never thought possible. I’m becoming more resilient and strong.  It’s been a crazy emotional rollercoaster for sure, and still is sometimes, but coming out of it I can clearly see why we go through the things we do. Everything happens for a reason bigger than ourselves. There is always a bigger picture and that is our focus. We have goals and dreams for our family and it feels like those dreams are attainable!  I’m conquering different fears in my life, I’m using my talents, I’m achieving a strong body and feel great, I get to be home with my baby girl for now, I’m learning to manage my own emotions, and I’m maturing into someone I love. I feel alive thinking of all things I’m grateful for.  One thing I hope my daughter learns from us is resiliency. I want her to always get back up and come out stronger no matter what life throws at her.  To end my rant I just want to say thank you to all our loved ones. If there's one thing I am it's #autismstrong being a mother to a child with autism has completely changed me AND made me a better person. Jaycen is light, my sun, my world. I had him at 37 and my husband was 52. We were totally not excepting any more babies! The baby then was 13! but God wanted Jay here and with us.. he wanted me to be his mama and I'm so thankful he did. All autism families face their own set of difficulties but have similar daily obstacles... Tuesday it is. Monday gone and I’m not sure how it went by so fast 💨 . And I’m feeling not perfect at all. I made tiny plans to get my preparation going and finalized for Christmas 🎄. Instead Emma now has a skin rush that itches her terribly. She has been whiny all day yesterday and today and she isn’t even back on track health wise after her nasty stomach flue... I am entirely out of it and as you can see from the pic, there are wrinkles, under eye circles and yes this nasty arm pit fat of mine! . Honestly, I had several moments today where I almost lost it. I just thought „I‘m a bad mom having not enough patience and I can’t even take care of my small to do list“ .  So there it is I’m sharing my human part, not perfect at all but ordinary.  I‘m a mom who tries her best every day but there also many moments where I struggle. And when I mean „struggle“ it’s the sort of „I need to scream out of the window and punch 🥊 a punching bag kinda“ moment. 🤬😬 . So instead of telling myself some negative stuff I had to remind myself just now that this is the wrong outlet. Our mind and the words we speak to ourselves are so powerful, it should be used to our advantage instead of the other way around. . So here it comes and hopefully it helps you on these kinda days as well: ⬇️ . 🔸 I am real. I am smart. 🔸 I am lovable. Always learning. And always soaking up everything we {as parents} do. ⠀ ⠀ I challenge you to wake up and do some jumping jacks before getting ready for the day.⠀ ⠀ Calf raises while brushing your teeth.⠀ ⠀ Body weight squats in your living room. ⠀ ⠀ Just move and be active. So I spent the summer going through an awesome 4 day workout program that uses a combo of weights, hiit moves and core focus and only completed round 2 a few weeks ago. Shortly after, I started a new program that is completely hiit moves, 6 days a week and let me tell you what, it’s been a major change! Near the end of round 2 of my 4 day a week program, I was feeling pretty good and strong! Confident in myself and my capabilities of physical fitness. Boy was that a false sense of confidence! •• ⠀⠀ Y’all this new hiit program I’m doing is TOUGH! Where I once thought I could handle hiit from the little I did of it in my prior program, this 25 minute program is kicking my booty! Isn’t that the way it is in our walks with the Lord? We become confident and at ease when life seems to be going just the way we’d like it to. Yet, in a instant, God can bring us into a new season and instantly shake things up for us, reminding us that it’s He in whom we should have our confidence, not ourselves... so here’s a friendly reminder to find your strength and confidence in God everyday. I’m a day behind and just did yesterday’s full body. C1 took me almost 25 minutes!! With 9 min of jumping rope 🤦🏻‍♀️. Made it though C2 and then was running out of time so I did one round each of C3 and C4 for a 58 min workout. After 5 days of nothing it sure felt good to kick the morning off right 💪💪

Five week postpartum! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In these 5 weeks I have not missed 1 day of my delicious sanity shake! It also counts as a giant salad/prenatal/multivitamin. I swear it even helps my milk supply. I wish I could go back in time and talk to that girl on the left. She was unhappy, insecure, and struggling behind that smile. . I’d go back and tell her that she’s got this! That she’s so strong and capable of anything she puts her mind to!  That she will feel comfortable in her own skin again! . I’ve felt this way more than once in my life. It’s been a constant cycle of up and down weight, yo-yo diets and an unhealthy relationship with food...until now. . Now I’m comfortable in my skin, healthy and happy! Ok let’s talk about your breath. Or not breathing rather.  I was writing Monday’s post and I realized that I wanted to expand on my point about Breathing during exercise. ⠀ ⠀ Even before I teach someone to breath correctly during exercise, I have to address the issue of holding your breath. It happens all the time in the gym and in everyday life. So why do we do it? It seems pretty counter intuitive right? ⠀ ⠀ So here it is. Ever heard of the Valsalva Maneuver? In the body building⠀ World - it’s exhaling against a close wind pipe or holding one’s breath essentially during a lift. ⠀ ⠀ The process creates a pocket of added air pressure in the thoracic and chest cavity which actively increases support, strength and power for a specific lift. (Note: there is much controversy around using this technique due to some health risks and I’m not about to get into it here) ⠀ ⠀ I’m simply making a Connection between holding your breath and the need for added support within the body. While you may need this added support for a lift that’s a 1 Rep max - for 8-12 reps or any other exercise in the gym your body shouldn’t need this added support. ⠀ ⠀ Spoiler Alert: it all comes back to CORE STRENGTH. - if you have a weak core - you may be holding your breath to compensate for a lack of support within your core - which should be your main support anyway. Breath holding can be a symptom of a dysfunctional inner unit. ⠀ ⠀ We are seeing more and more people holding their breath for every day movements like bending over and picking something up or getting up out of a chair.  This is crazy⠀ and just a little body awareness can really be super helpful. Think about that for min. ⠀ ⠀ So next time you catch yourself holding your breath - think about resetting and breathing nice and low. Activating your core will help you find the support for body needs to perform more optimally. :-). Am I holding my breath in the pic? Looks like it right. Hey.

Treats don’t always have to be “unhealthy” food choices. Today I treated myself to brunch during a morning meeting. Eggs and avo on sourdough = heaven on a plate! Let’s talk schedules.  I’d love to hear from those full time working Mamas as far as your schedules and days working with kiddos 👶🏼😳 This morning I ended up staying up after nursing 🤱 Logan at 5:30am to simulate what I’ll do going back to work on January 2nd.  For me- getting a quick workout in is important to me.  Not really necessarily for the physical transformation (sure that’s a bonus)- but for me it’s for my mental health- leaving me feel good, strong, productive.  Most days I’ll have to be out the door by 7:20am, or 7:40pm, but there are 2 days a week I have to be out by 6:30am 😳 Yup.  That means I’ve got to nurse my baby, get a workout in, shower and leave with a lunch packed ect... In my mind I’m thinking I can make this happen on the days I have to be out by 7:20am, but the 6:30am?  I’m thinking my workouts will be done after work- maybe once the kiddos are in bed?  That’s usually not my thing- but I know CHANGE can happen and it can become my new normal.  Curious- what do your morning routines look like?  I’m thankful my workouts will only be 20 min a day at home 🏡- that makes it better.  And I can prep my lunch the night before.  And I can use dry shampoo for my hair 🤣Bwhahaha  Here’s to embracing CHANGE in the New Year 🎉! “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new” 🙌🏼

This?  This is silliness 😂  Every few days or so, my oldest likes to egg me on to see if I can pick him up...to see how much he's grown and to see if I'm still strong enough to lift him.  I almost always do it, just to see him smile.  But the other night, I just didn't want to, and he kept asking until Sean got involved, saying: "Dude, of course she can lift you up, Mama could probably pick ME up!" That made me laugh.  Then the kiddos wanted me to prove it 😂  Then *I* wanted to see if I could do it 😂  So, I squatted my husband 😂  This is something that I wouldn't have even considered just a month ago!
