I usually don't do this but lately I've had a lot on mind. Here lately I've had a lot of time to think about ME. I've had time to think about the things I've done, people Ive helped, things I've accomplished and have not accomplished, where I am today because of inadequate decision making stupidity struggles and hardships, where I want to be in life and where I will be in life. I've put my family and myself through hell and yet they've stood by me especially my father. But the more I look and the deeper I think, the more I realize that in the shadows, I'm fighting a battle. There is a creature, it consists of my past and the person I aim to be in the future and it wants me and I’m screaming, I think I'm losing, and I’m so tired of choosing, I'm slipping down and I can't stop screaming, I have the will to fight and I’ve never been one to bite my tongue. I will never turn, and I have and never will run from a fight or any obstacle. I’ve seen with my own eyes, the price of life and the cost of lies. My battle is not against flesh and blood, but against an inner creature who opposes me. So the battle lines have been drawn and will face my enemy with a bold determination. I will dismantle every argument and pretension that it presents which contradicts what My future will become. My enemy fights against me because he fears me. And every time it reminds me of my past, I will remind it, and everyone else of the future. I will make no excuses, but through every obstacle I will find a way. I will not procrastinate my progress. I will not defer from what my destiny will be. I will not waiver when I'm weak and I will not cower when my circumstances take a turn for the worst. Life will push you hard, and you must push back. Time will make its mark, and you gotta stand the test. Every dog has its day and it will soon be yours. We must make it count and we must find our own way. In the end, through blood, sweat, tears we’ll still be here.  #strongereveryday

Week 2 update completely off from lifting, training,cardio, supplements and eating 6-7 meals a day.  Basically just living like a normal person. 3 meals a day whenever I'm hungry. Did something I have never done before! So of course I suck at it. Did some strong man stuff with some StrongMan friends. My boy  Matt is going to do great at his strong man competition.  Got a taste of yoke walks some deadlifts for timed sets and some log presses (myself not shown). Excited to do more and implement some of these movements into my own programming.  @fitnessfactorycharlotte is an amazing facility.
Wrapped up cutback week with 14 FUN miles. 90% of the time that I describe something as “fun,” it’s absolutely sarcastic, but this is actually not one of those times.  Goal:  7 easy (with 🐕) 6 X 3 min @ 7:35, 2 min @ 8:20 CD to 14  Actual (Speed Intervals): 7:30, 8:06; 7:13, 7:51; 7:26, 8:07; 7:17, 8:17; 7:24, 8:07; 7:15, 7:56  So... too fast? But... felt great? So yeah, it was fun because fresh legs are the best feeling. 🔥  Also, I had mentally prepared to run in the rain and then I ended up beating it. Which is totally fine, but the Shamrock Marathon is infamous for rain. Which means if I practice a LR in the rain, race day will be clear skies and if I don’t, race day will be a torrential downpour. I never liked my arms. I never had any reason to. . That being said, I also never hated them. I never obsessed about what they looked like, it was always my midsection and my legs that I was self conscious about. . In January 2016 I started my first ever weightlifting program, and started to fall in love with the idea of being toned and feeling stronger. . My favorite workout days are the ones when I get to test the strength that I’ve been building for the last 3 years, and push myself past my limits. . Today’s workout did that for sure. Not just in my arms either, in my legs too!!! 😳 It was a killer. . Really had to squuueeezzzee these reps out y’all.  3rd set with one sec hold at the top and I only managed to get 1 single additional rep out in each of the sets. Was hoping for bigger progress this week but between hormones and shit sleep the last two nights, I’m pretty damn happy I got my ass out there at all. Yesterday my anxiety got the best of me and I folded in on myself once my daughter finally fell asleep (albeit a thrashing, restless sleep). I took the old newborn adage “Sleep when they sleep” to heart and just allowed myself to rest.  I woke this morning feeling some ease with the anxiety (it will buzz in the background I bit heavier than usual for several more days) and made myself get back into my routine. I have been keeping my weekends for cardio only. I get way more than enough lifting in during the week. Normally I do 30 minutes of walk/jog intervals on the treadmill but I was just not feeling that today. So I busted out one of my very favorite cardio go to..... Turbo Fire 🔥 It has been a very long time since I have done Turbo Fire 30 and let me tell you I freaking crushed it today 💪🏻 I cannot believe how far my cardio has come. Like WOW! Easy 5k stomping through the puddles. 2 years ago I was starting over. I was working out at home just trying to stay moving. My motivation was high because I NEEDED change. This was my New Years resolution. Lose weight. Make progress. Love the process. At the time, I hated working out. Dreaded it. I would snooze my alarm to avoid it but I always got up and did it because I was determined. It was so much harder in the beginning than it is now. That’s not saying that I don’t push as hard but I had less stamina and more weight to push around. I’ve come along way from working out at home. Today, I ran a mile and finished up with core. I vividly remember telling Michael I would never run, I’m not good at it and I didn’t like it. I feel like I am becoming the best version of myself - challenging myself physically and fueling my body properly. . Add that to learning better how to fuel my soul, and I feel like I am better able to do the things that God sets before me to accomplish. . I want to encourage you to find what works for you! Today I posted my most used excercises to warm up my glutes on bootyday 🍑  I made a permanent story on my page so that you guys can rewatch the stories as much as you like! These excercises really help me wake up the glutes so that my power trainings are better and my glutes are awake.  This sounds really silly but it’s super important to wake up your glutes!
