Started off my chest workout with paused bench press W/185. Then dropped the weight down to 165 to do 3 more sets of volume work. This is my first chest workout of the week which places a greater emphasis on horizontal pushing. After the chest work I moved onto some triceps and delt work. How many days a week do you train a particular muscle group? Here's a great #theraband stretch to increase range of motion and warm up your hips. . IMPORTANT CUES . 1. KNEES LOCKED - Flex your quads and lock your knees out as best you can (those with limited flexibility can still stretch with a slight knee bend). . 2. HIPS SET - Keep your hips square and anteriorly rotated. This will create a deeper stretch as well as provide a training effect for your postural muscles. . 3. CHEST TO THE FLOOR - The goal should be bringing your chest as close to the floor as possible. . More often than not people suffer from tight hamstrings due to constantly being in a seated position. This is a great stretch to help people begin to rediscover their mobility and reduce the aches and pains of an #executive lifestyle. . Hey guys! I wanted to share a video of me trying to do the things I used to be able to do. I haven't tried these moves in a while but I wanted to show that the process to learning any new skill is repetition and consistency...but if there's something you love to do and you used to do it all the time as a kid then get back up and try to do those things, chances are you'll surprise yourself and still be able to! This is me trying to do a handstand which I still can't keep in one place! Lol  Currently I'm working on an aireal and back handspring (not pictured). I used to do them all the time and I'm sure with a bit of "umph" I'll have them back in no time! The Undue Ordeal of the Perpetual Dieter (...5)  Following on from the above two is an aspect often over looked by the general population; the maintenance of lean body mass, (LBM) throughout the period of an energy deficit/dieting protocol. Metler et al 2010 studied how an increase in protein consumption throughout this duration can help to counteract many of the negative effects associated with one subjecting themselves to the tumultuous trauma of an energy deficit, (of which can be a copious number of psychological; in terms of deprivation, hedonic hunger and binging, to name a few, as well as physical; in terms of metabolic adaptation and NEAT reduction, again to name a few) along with a resultant positive correlation with the preservation of LBM and all metabolic, hormonal and overall health benefits that go with, (if you happen to be within the older population then you may chose to pay particular attention to this as sarcopenia, osteoporosis and many other illnesses can all be improved to a certain extent through increasing your protein consumptions… get your Grannys on the double chocolate protein shakes and her muscles will love you for it). ...TBC
