It was a rewarding feeling having participated in the Yonkers Health and Wellness Fair, alongside with @dr.alex.hilario These events are always satisfying because while I may work manually with some of the attendants, I also educate them. The common theme in most of my conversations is that the human body is remarkable, capable of healing even from chronic pain conditions. With education, I return the locus of control back to the patient, and as such, not exclusively reliant on a passive modality (medication, injection, manual therapies, surgery, etc...). The lady that I was working with in this video was amazed how great she felt afterwards, and how she had a lot to do with that feeling!
So for the last few weeks, I’ve been primarily training in the @adidas #pureboost Trainer. Despite the fact that it does not have the label of “Crossfit”, it has been one of the most comfortable Crossfit shoes I’ve worn next to the #nano8. I would say that my favorite feature of this shoe is the fact that it has a #boost midsole, as well as increased ankle support. The prime knit upper also adds extra protection in areas where I think the @reebok #nano8 falls short. Only real downside is there is a bit of heel slippage. But overall I really enjoy this shoe. Using dumbbells or a barbell is often too challenging for most people from a balance perspective. . This tool has an extra point of contact and a nice bar path that keeps your form on point so it’s easier to load up and get a solid training effect. . ✅ How it’s done. 🔹Grab the end of the bar and hold in front of the thigh. 🔹Make a fist with the opposite arm and engage the lat by depressing the shoulder blade. This aids stability. 🔹Slight bend in the knee of the working leg. 🔹Reach back with your heel and allow your torso to fold forward keeping a nice flat back. 🔹Also make sure that your hips are square at all times and don’t rotate. 🔹When you feel a deep hamstring stretch, reverse the motion by tucking your hips. 🔹Repeat for desired reps. ________ If you’ve been doing bilateral hip hinge movements for a while - give this unilateral variation a try. Most often as some form of superficial aesthetic descriptor. ⚡️ In reality when we talk about toned muscles we’re referring to a neurological intensity (neural tone). 💪🏽 Muscles have the ability to shorten (concentric), lengthen (eccentric), and maintain their length (isometric) depending on the demand placed on them. 📬 Nerves provide the tone to generate the appropriate force for the situation... 🧘🏼‍♀️ i.e. when you sit down on a chair and somehow you don’t just melt into a puddle of mush. You may not realize it but your muscles are holding just enough flex to keep you upright in the chair. 🥛 Or when you’re holding a glass and you don’t just crush it with your grip strength. Let's talk recovery!  Smart training includes well structured training AND recovery. How do you ensure you are recovered? 👉🏻 sleep 👉🏻 eat enough 👉🏻 foam roll 👉🏻 plan your training appropriately ■As far as training appropriately, I provided ideas of 4 different splits for how a well structured training and recovery plan may look. (Swipe left!) ▪Alternate upper body and lower body resistance training (RT) and/or plyo days. ▪Alternate between push and pull days. This is a well known split for training. In addition, you can give yourself days of active recovery like steady state cardio on a bike to help promote blood flow and relieve lactic acid.) ▪Alternate the intensity of your lifting sessions (e.g. every training session doesn't have to be hard.) Break up your strength training with stability workouts throughout the week, like Yoga or Pilates, to work those smaller muscle that are not a primary focus on heavy lifting days. ▪Finally, take into consideration your daily activities in life. If you have a physically demanding day of work, consider how that may affect your weekly training plan and adjust accordingly. ■Moral of the story, make sure you are recovered to get the most out of your training sessions and keep your body working well for you long term. I enjoy bag work with a swinging bag just because you get resistance and you’re forced to stimulate an opponent since your strikes create a reaction. . Not only does the swinging bag cause you to react but since it’s high up you’re forced to high kick. Começa com a barra no suporte e os músculos peitorais relaxados, passando, diretamente, pra fase concêntrica (positiva/contra a gravidade), do movimento. -  Explicando rapidamente, esse exercício elimina a energia elástica do movimento, deixando mais difícil tirar o peso da inércia. Provavelmente não conseguiremos mover a mesma carga que usamos no supino tradicional. -  Então pra que usamos esse exercício? No cables? No problem!⁣ -⁣ Here’s a variation of flys using resistance bands.
