All around us people are struggling - with overwhelm, stress and anxiety. The strain of life, business and society along with our own expectations creates a dangerous mix of internal and external pressure. To help my clients I teach them 3 Disciplines they can cultivate to help develop a resilient Mindset. The Disciplines are: Perception - the discipline to accept things as they are, rather than how we want them to be. This is about developing objectivity of thought. Action - the discipline to take right and true action. Doing what we should in accordance with virtue so as to live a good life. To participate in society and to treat others justly and fairly. Will or attitude - the discipline to cultive the values and principles to live as we should. This is cultivating an approach to life that serves us and others. And accepting that which we cannot control while acting on that which we can. Living in harmony with our true nature and living in accordance with reason and truthfulness in thoughts and speech. Cultivating these Disciplines allows us to install an upgraded internal operating system of the mind - helping us deal with stress, make better decisions and create a good life. Its a journey. We can't look for quick fixes. We must step by step build a new way of dealing with what happens. We can't control what happens but we can control how we think & feel and the actions we take. To master our mindset we must take control of our way of thinking and install a new operating system. Step one - cultivate the Disciplines each and every day
Check out my Instagram story for my thoughts on this but suffice to say it's bittersweet and two fold.... 1. Coach should have been able to go out on his own. He's a legend, a great human being, and has put our program on the map. Hell be missed, and I thank him. 2. I have been open to a change for some time. I want our program to be on the national level. Perennial Top 25, and Sweet 16 or better threat yearly. Sorry but that's my bar. And we're far from it. So hoping this change puts us on that path!

My goal is not to try and convert you to my beliefs, but to help you find beliefs of your own. If you already have your own mindset figured out, then rock on🤘I only hope you find this page as a reinforcement. • Got a quote you want to see featured? Be sure to start of your relationships with a solid foundation of who you are. 💪🏼 If you are entering a relationship of any kind with the intention to “get” something, you are entering with a sense of dependency. 🤔 Instead, enter your relationships with wholeness of being, focused on what you can “give.” 🤗 This will help you to show up at your best while embracing what is great about yourself rather than what you fear you are missing! 🙌🏼💯 #zenstoicmastery#zen#stoic#mindset#success#relationships#compassion#selflove#selfawareness
Spent the last four week's with a bad knee injury. After lots of band work, a deep tissue massage, and a few days of the IR sauna I feel good. First day back hitting squats pain free in a long time. Im pretty happy with my numbers. Finished off with some pump work.
I'm always thinking of who I should be, and how I should act rather than just being and acting how I am. It's a difficult thing to wake up to being me. I am always thinking I should be better than I am. Always wanting more than I have..... One day I will be completely happy with who I am, and I am getting there day by day step by step.
Quote from @brandonlilly3. All the things he listed help. Having a good program, and having the right gear can get you in the game, but it takes a hell of a lot more than that to rise to the top. I know a couple of guys I have faith in to rise the ranks (@wellsstrength , @skylerbrandt308 )but who else out there thinks they have what it takes? #powerliftingthementality#deathbeforeweakness @animalpak @animal_gear #animalpak#brandonlilly
I used to love playing video games—I still do, even that I don't play them very often. I remember as a kid, getting this device you could put onto a #nintendo game, called Game Genie. Essentially, what it would let you do is put in a cheat code into any game and get unlimited lives, health, skip to the last level, etc. I was really excited to try it out, because I was thinking about how cool it would be to be able to cheat at any game. But... I was sorely disappointed. Why? Because I realized the games were not "fun" when you cheated. I realized that the thing that made the game fun and rewarding was the challenge and eventually overcoming that challenge. Sometimes in life we wish for cheat codes. We just want to win the lottery. Have someone hand us a million dollars. Get those six-pack abs without having to work for them. But, the truth is, if we got everything we wanted without having to work for it, we'd be just as disappointed as a kid using a cheat code at a video game. That's why I say, "If I haven't earned it, I don't want it." I only want what is mine in life. What I have earned with my hard work—otherwise it's like a cheat code. Stop cheating yourself. #bulldogmindset#nevergiveup#entrepreneur#millionairemindset#entrepreneurlife#wordstoliveby#discipline#pushyourself#trusttheprocess#hustleandgrind#disciplineequalsfreedom#10x#stoic#stoicism#lovethegrind#noquitters#theobstacleistheway#nevergiveupquotes#stoicphilosophy
On Nudity: Extreme Sports, we asked our buddy Tony about the trials and tribulations of figure modeling. Here's the lovely sketch we spoke about. #art#nudity#crude#podcast#modeling#stoic http://crudimentaryquestions.com/
We have the power to choose how we react to our environment; no matter if it’s high conflict behavior or stormy weather we can choose to be triggered or accept what is outside our control and take actions which align with our values and protect our loved ones. #stoic#lovewhatis#amorfati
How often do you sit quietly by yourself and just think? Whether its meditating or sitting outside and enjoying nature, make sure to have some alone time daily to reflect on your day, life, what your are thankful for, goals etc. Life is busy and we have constant stimulation from outside sources. Clearing the mind once a day or week (to start off with) is highly beneficial to your well being. . . . . - Stoic Dude read more at the link in bio #marcusaurelius#seneca#stoic#stoicism#stoicdude#philosophy#expectations#reality#meditation#alone#solitude#quiet
Our moment of Zen. . Our abilities can take us amazing places. We can go to the mountaintop, we can change lives, we can find confidence through them. Our abilities will seldom teach us something new. If we want to expand our abilities, we can’t do that through their use. We have to engage learning and humility to expand our capabilities… We have every right to expect more out of life if we’re willing to expect more from ourselves. Starting today, we can take the steps to be self-aware enough to acknowledge whether we need to learn more in an area or get out of the way of those who are.
