We all know that drinking water is important all the time! But, did you know that drinking water can be especially important during pregnancy and post-partum? You may even need to be drinking more water than normal at these times. . During pregnancy, water is helping you and baby to form amniotic fluid, produce extra blood, carry nutrients, aid in digestion (while those organs are shifting), build new tissue and flush out toxins! Not to mention, water helps to soften skin, keep you cooler, and can even decrease risks of preterm labor. Drinking water post-partum is also just as important! Drinking water, aside from the benefits mentioned during pregnancy can also help with regulating energy intake and thus helping to control body weight. In addition, the body uses extra water to help produce breast milk, so we often recommend that breastfeeding mama’s try to drink a glass of water while they’re nursing to help regulate their supply. . COFFEE CHAT☕️ . When I first started nannying in September, I would drink 3 cups a coffee EVERY DAY to literally get me through the day. Sometimes one of those cups was a large from Dunkin or Wawa. WHAT. I wasn’t working out. I wasn’t watching what I fueled my body with. I was completely EXHAUSTED. I would go home and literally just pass out for the night. Now, I rarely drink coffee and if I do it’s for pleasure not survival😅 because I’m fueling my body with much better foods. I’m working out daily which actually does give you MORE energy. My shakes give me life daily. And I’m drinking at least half my body weight of water every day. It’s truly amazing what our bodies are capable of when we take care of them. I’m not saying don’t enjoy your cup of coffee..cause ya girl loves coffee too. But if you take care of yourself daily, watch how much less you’ll feel like you actually NEED it to get through the day.
