Stanley the giraffe, located at the Malibu Wines vineyard-turned-safari is seemingly okay for now. As thousands evacuated the communities, people were worried about this Malibu resident in particular along with the other animals there. Despite some reports about his injuries (some minor burns, smoke inhalation and sheer stress), he’s doing as well as can be expected. Moving a Stanley can actually kill him and a very special team would be needed. A team can be secured relatively quickly, however, at this point, Stanley will not be moved. Weighing his death by simply evacuating him with various threats is a challenge. There was a fire line coming over the ridge reported this morning in the distance. We can only hope that he remains safe for now. All we can do is wait this out. I know how all of you feel about this giraffe being here in the first place, I really do. This isn't a post to debate, let's all try to help out today. There are many rescues that need volunteers. @a_giraffe_named_stanley @malibusafaris @busters_barn @whitneycommings #stanley#woolsey Thanks to CBS Los Angeles for taking this fly over video this morning.
