✨Running Training Tip for Today: Transitioning From Treadmill to Outdoor Running!✨(Sorry the video cuts off lol) For some people the transition can be tough!! The same paces you were running on a treadmill can feel harder outside. So how can you help make the transition easier especially with the changing seasons & wanting to get outside!! ✅Find Training loops outside in your neighborhood, your typical running areas or even a track! Getting use to the same environment outside similar to what you do on a treadmill can help make that transition easier at first! The constant environment becomes more comfortable & you feel stronger each time you run it! ✅Putting at least 1% incline on the treadmill! We tend to expend less energy on the treadmill so putting 1% incline is equivalent to running outdoors along with making sure you are keeping good form similar to mimicking outdoor running! ✅We tend to heal strike on the treadmill inside of running on our fore foot since we let the treadmill run us instead of running the treadmill. Similar to when we run outside we must propel ourselves forward! Either practice this on the treadmill or know this will be a transition to moving outdoors! ✅New Running shoes! If you haven’t switched up training shoes, make sure to get new running shoes to transition outdoors & Preparing for the new season of running along with the change in running surface which is typically harder outside compared to the give of a treadmill ✅Do at least one of your speed workouts outside & know you might have to adjust the pace slightly at first. The more you run outside though & get use to it, the stronger you will be long term while quickly adjusting back to your paces & overall improving your running performance!! 🌟This is my running Training Tip for Today!! Half of my life I’ve been a runner 🏃🏽♀️ I started in middle school and fell in love with how strong it made me feel. It’s always been my outlet for my mental health and physical health. Anytime I feel sad, happy, or mad its always there for me. If I take a break from it I can jump right back in just like riding a bike (I always warm up and cool down properly that’s key if you take a break from it. Injury prevention!) It takes me back to my childhood and shows me I can face any challenges life throws at me. I focus on the good when I consistently add it into my routine and get my favorite runners high.
