Mulled Wine Preparations | 🍷✨🎄| Holistics In House I’m whipping up a bit of Mulled Wine Syrup for tomorrow nights Yule Tide Celebrations at Our Artisan Craft Studio Workshop! Ingredients: 1 c Water 1/2c Sugar Zest of 1 orange plus flesh (no pith 😝) 1 cinnamon roll 8-12 cloves 1-2 cardamom pods 3-5 star anise and some vanilla seeds ! Boil up and let it infuse overnight Add a bottle of red fruity /dry wine and warm it up but don’t let it boil... that evaporated ALL the alcohol and some people reckon that’s a bad bad thing 🤣😀 Let me know how you make yours!?

Moreover, spices are nature’s wonderful gifts to us packed with vibrant colors, flavors and health boosting compounds. So let’s spice up our kids’ lives! — I often get asked what spices to start babies on and while there are really no rules (except to perhaps avoid cayenne pepper which is a bit too intense for those tiny tongues and tummies), these are my go-to spices with certain baby-friendly ideas to get started: ✨Turmeric, a powerful anti-inflammatory spice with a host of other benefits is wonderful with cauliflower, lentils, fish, chicken, oatmeal, carrots, peas. ✨Cumin, a wonderful digestion boosting spice works well with lentils, beets, green beans, carrots, and hummus. ✨Paprika is also an anti-inflammatory power house and pairs nicely with sweet potatoes, potatoes, broccoli, salmon, shrimp, eggplant. ✨Cardamom, an anti-nausea spice with many other healing properties is gorgeous with oatmeal, rice, muffins and pancakes, bananas, pears, sweet potato, winter squashes and chicken. ✨Cinnamon, a blood sugar stabilizing magician, is best enjoyed as true or Ceylon cinnamon with low liver toxin (Coumarin) content. It’s ideal with sweet veggies like butternut squash and pumpkin but also in smoothies, yogurt, pancakes, muffins, French toast and oatmeal. Spiced chai for mama with lots of cinnamon is a wonderful treat! — This is just the tip of the spice-berg 😊️We also love sumac, coriander, nutmeg, cloves, fennel and so on. 🍫HOT CHOCOLATE 🍫 to Cozy Up With On A Cold Night ❄️ Depending on where you are this may sound rude but....it’s FREEZING 😂 I’m sorry😭 I know some areas are dealing with heavy snow fall, blizzards, all the white cold fluffy stuff but it’s in the 30s and we’re freezing in Florida. So tonight I opted for a little hot chocolate to soothe this cold body. Are you a hot chocolate drinker too? Ingredients 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk beverage (or unsweetened almond milk) 2 Tbsp . unsweetened cocoa powder ½ tsp . Agave nectar (optional) Instructions Bring coconut milk, cocoa powder, and agave (if desired) to a boil in small saucepan over medium-high heat, whisking frequently. Pour into a large mug; serve immediately. I like to spice up my hot chocolate. How to: Add a pinch of cinnamon (up to ½ a teaspoon) and just a dash of ginger (⅛ teaspoon) to a cup of hot chocolate. Ginger is more potent than cinnamon, so a dash should be plenty to create this festive flavor. And as an added treat top with dairy free whipped cream . Tonight with our church group we’re having a game night + apps for dinner so I decided to make my spicy hummus! If you love hummus and want to save some money by making it yourself see below for recipe! Ingredients: • 1/4 cup tahini • 2 tablespoons olive oil • 1 tablespoon lemon juice • 1 tablespoon minced garlic • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil • 5 dashes hot pepper sauce • 1 chopped jalapeño • red pepper flakes (to your liking) • one 16oz can garbanzo beans • 2 tablespoons cold water Directions: 1) Combine tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cayenne, cumin, salt, sesame oil, jalapeño, red pepper flakes, and hot sauce in a food blender or processor - blend for about 3 minutes until smooth. 2) Meanwhile, drain and rinse garbanzo beans and add to blender - blend for an additional 2 minutes or so. 3) Add water to blender and blend for 3 minutes more. 🚨🎄La Festiva 🎄🚨Thought I would try something a lil different this year, break the mould #spiceupyourlife. This comes from the famous pizzeria known as @pizzaexpress- very edgy. I would sum the meal up as a little bit of a mind fuck. Biting into a delicious pizza and getting the overpowering tang of stuffing is not something you can prepare yourself for (even though I did kind of expect it as I ordered the thing, you get my point though). Spinach, rosemary, peppers, turkey (and not just any old turkey, but marinated turkey), Pine nuts, red onion. It was a lot. However if I was to say bring me Christmas on a pizza, the La Festiva really fulfills this criteria. 8.33/10.
She may not be the prettiest but she’s sure got substance - I’ve had a red/tomato curry base I made a while ago waiting in the freezer forever. Added some coconut milk, peanut sauce, peas, kale, and sweet potato. Not exactly sure what was in the base, but I think I taste lime and masala curry, def some garlic.
