I gotta be honest, I haven't practiced yoga since a long time from now, and I'm not proud of it. I was so busy achieving my dreams, I was always saying that in Asia I will be in the best environment to be spiritual and do spiritual things, but I almost haven't done a thing since I'm here.. I got disappointed in buddhism, how people practice it and how monks live their life. In my imagination it was different. I realized now that it doesn't matter where I am, if my mind is not in the right place.. I double realized (I already realized but couldn't accept) that peace and calm can be found within, not in a particular country/place. But I guess that's why traveling worth it, to learn more about yourself and about life and how to live it. #dailybex#kualalumpur#malaysia#asia#southeastasia#view#cityview#rooftop#infinitypool#yoga#yogapose#travel#traveling#traveler#backpacking#backpacker#wanderlust#instatravel#instaphoto
Super hyped to be in Kuala Lumpur! This city is definitely a futuristic looking tropical metropolis. I’ll be spending the next few weeks (or potentially longer?) in the city, volunteering at a hostel in exchange for a free stay and some food. I can’t wait to spend a good amount of time getting to know the place and filming some sick vids 😎 #patronas#patronastowers#kl#kualalumpur#malaysia#budgettravel#seasia
To exist, to breathe...to live. Many of us are running around looking for this profound sense of purpose. Something that fuels us, that inspires us; something that gives us meaning. The empaths look to heal, the leaders look to inspire, the artists look to create. We send ourselves on personal journeys, pushing for this connection to the universal. The search for a divine truth that gives us a special place on this earth... . But the truth is...you and me, we are already special. We are already a gift to this world. We push for this deeper meaning to life, and sometimes we allow ourselves to suffer in our search. The irony is that we are simply here to... exist. To be. . . . As my new friend and I continued to speak deeply, she finally said to me, “if we are only here to exist, then what is the point of life?”... she looked at me, now urging me to respond...so I began: . “I used to cringe when people said that they were married to their passion... but I only did so because I didn’t know what mine was. Now? Sometimes I have a hard time distinguishing between multiple loves. Travel. Food. Yoga. Dance. Song. Art. Spirit. Words. Animals. Trees. Plants. Life. It’s all there, I can hardly choose. I realized at some point that it is not so much about how you obtain it...but once you grasp that feeling, that bliss, never let it go. It’s like my baby; I protect it, I feed it, I nurture it, and I love it....and in return, it brings me a sense of connection that I can’t explain. Just like a mother’s inability to separate her love for her child, I can’t separate my love for this existence, for this life.” 👐 We stared at each other, with tears in our eyes. Something inside of me felt compelled to continue... “if the point of life is just to be, then there is no right or wrong answer. There is only one reality that exists in your life, and it’s the one that you choose. So for fuck sakes, choose the one that makes you happy.” . . . #anopenjournal
This is a nice monkey. He was actually just yawning when I took the pic. Unlike his smaller friend, who jumped on me and tried to pick-pocket me and hissed at Julien when he came to my rescue. 🐒#monkeyisland #monkeychronicles
It's fascinating how we can walk the same street several times and never look up. I've stayed in Sukhumvit Soi 11 several times in the Holiday Inn Express opposite this building but never noticed this amazing building. Sometimes looking up changes the whole look of a place.
🐒Not sure how people get a "cute" picture with wild monkey's. It's the strangest sensation, when you have multiple climbing on you, doing whatever. I froze, not wanting to get but (or allow them the opportunity to steal something because I lost my grip). I froze, until one little bugger decided to nibble on my calf... Then I decided I'd had enough of monkey city, hoped on the train, and headed back to Bangkok.🐒 #stillafraidofmonkeys#lifechangingadventure#thailand
Lost in wonder at the beauty of this place. The Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, Cambodia is stunning. Every inch of this complex is so beautifully and intricately designed, it's no wonder it took 88 years to complete.
Nusa Lembongan was a fun little day trip we took while vacationing in Bali in 2016 and we really loved the little islands of Nusa Lembongan & Nusa Ceningan. Wish we had made time for Nusa Penida as well. I loved that even though the islands were small (we scootered completely around them both during our short day trip), it was easy to find little pockets of solitude which was a welcomed break from the tourist crowds on Bali and the waters were so incredibly blue. I really did enjoy Bali though despite the crowds and would go back again if given the opportunity. I would explore more of Northern Bali though if we went back and next time we'll have good camera equipment lol! This was taken on an old cellphone fyi. I definitely want to explore more of Indonesia soon as the people were so friendly and from what I saw it was definitely beautiful! My top islands I'd like to visit there at the moment are Flores, Komodo, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Sumba, Lombok, and the Gili Islands! I'm also dying to get to Borneo which is politically divided between Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei. And speaking of Malaysia I would love to get there soon as well. Have you been to Indonesia or is the country on your bucket list! . . . . . . . . . . . #bali#nusalembongan#indonesia#wonderfulindonesia#southeastasia#ocean#beach#blue#beautiful#island#islandlife#tropical#paradise#explore#adventure#exploretocreate#welivetoexplore#roamtheplanet#travelblogger#traveler#lifestyleblogger#travel#wanderlust#visualsoflife#beautifuldestinations#vacation#nature#outdoors#letsgosomewhere
A lot of people are on their end of summer vacations & I'm over here lowkey hatin' honestly lol! But also excited for everyone & love seeing all the pictures. It's always fun to see what everyone's tastes are & how they travel. Had to post this little throwback watching colorful boats cruise down the beautiful bold emerald green Loboc River in Bohol. Makes me so excited to return to Asia soon. As some of you know travelling is kind of on the back burner for now with the wedding & honeymoon planning going on and MAYBE even a move...so sometimes you have to miss out on little losses for a bigger & greater reward & I'm hoping for the most epic honeymoon being one of them lol! I will say it's been really fun exploring home as a trade-off. I often take the PNW for granted & forget how amazing this location is, probably one of the most beautiful areas in the United States aside from the Hawaiian islands (personal opinion). I often hear from my Texas friends & family who have taken trips here how much they miss the gorgeous landscapes & crisp fresh air. We are truly blessed my fellow Pacific Northwesterners! Also I'll be utilizing this down time to really get back on track with my fitness regime & completely revamping my current nutrition again. I've been working out & everything but I'll admit I kind of got off track since returning from Greece in June & ready to really lock it down again (which means I'll be posting more fitness related blog posts as well!). Nothing like a wedding & honeymoon to really motivate you! The goal is to be frolicking on Southeast Asian beaches in my bikini COMPLETELY comfortable with my body in the middle of a crowd, beaming with that post-marriage glow lol. Do you have any fun trips coming up within the next year? . . . . . . . . . . .
