an empty space creates a place for your imagination to explore.....it really works! even if it’s just a kitchen cupboard, under a sink, or a box in the craft room that’s void of anything. look into that empty space when you feel overwhelmed and it has a calming effect that is magical. i ’ve experimented with this concept over the past year and have found an amazing sense of calm and focus when I take the time to address the things that stack up, pile up, and get pushed aside. slowly but surely i’ve emptied or simplified belongings and collections...and a river of peace comes after. you should try it! less is more! #simplify#purposeful inthemind #thesimplelife#saynoclutter
I’ve neglected to keep up with my daily Walmart bags of things to throw away or donate, but I think this makes up for it; four contractor sized bags full (old towels, blankets, clothes), an old hamper full (old magazines), a diaper box full (broken odds and ends that will never get fixed), and a few pillows (for the trash). Avo-Brussel Chicken Caesar Salad 🙂 - Instructions - Generously coat skillet in coconut oil. Bring heat to medium high. While skillet is heating up, sprinkle salt and pepper on chicken breast. Cook each side about 3 minutes or until chicken has cooked through. Set aside to cool. While chicken is cooking, thinly slice Brussels sprouts and place in a strainer. Rinse well. In a blender, mix dressing, avocado, lemon zest and juice. Blend until smooth. Coat Brussels in the mixture. Let it sit for 1-5 hours. The longer the better. Plate with chicken and enjoy!
Are you a big shoe person? This awesome client is, and we decided the best way to display all of her shoes was in these clear bins in a new section of her closet. Previously (swipe for the before) her shoes were a bit of a mess and all in their original boxes which didn’t do her shoe collection justice! She couldn’t see through the boxes, obviously, so a lot of shoes were forgotten. Displaying them this way now allows her to see everything she has very clearly 👌🏻 If you have a collection of things, treat your items right and display them for yourself 😊

Day 2 #30daysofspringcleaning // Lamp cleaning hack // This isn’t a daily task, but something to do … every once in a while. Grab a lint roller (yep you read that right) for easy dust & dirt removal for your lamps. Since we’ve got white lamp shades in our bedroom it become VERY obvious when they need cleaning. But even if you’ve got darker colored lamp shades, just know they DO get dusty! It takes me all of 5 seconds to complete and it’s oddly satisfying seeing all that dust stick to the lint roller. Believe it or not, we squeezed two twin beds in the boy’s bedroom and they each stayed in their own beds last night 🙌🏻 HOLLAFREAKINLUJAH, if you missed my stories, Noah was crashing with Finn for the past however many weeks and wouldn’t sleep on the top bunk, so back to twins we went. Mama doesn’t play when it comes to sleep, just ask Matt 😉 I hope it’s sunny and warm [somewhat] wherever you may be, my friends ♥️

A SIMPLE HACK: Money Saving Homemade Foamy Soap. . I love Foamy Soap, especially since we have kids! I think we tried regular soap for a little bit when the kids were little and they could never seem to get it all washed off. I would always find soapy little hand prints all over the bathroom facet, light switch and who knows where else. . But, foamy soap can be expensive! When your book is trying to tell you something! This week has been a true test of my organising skills and ability to restore balance in my life... I have a long list of things to do and lots of ideas to work through. I opened my book and this quote was on the page! An amazing few days in London at #apdoconference and training with my tribe of organisers. Getting to listen to and meet inspiring speakers (felt a bit like a fan at a concert 🤗). A good session with a client yesterday👍making great progress. With a car accident thrown in, no car for 3 days with 2 children to organise, a dose of whiplash and my self care/sleep has been totally out of balance.🚔🚗 @sobeorganized reminded me in her conference presentation, as a parent, we need to take care of us so we can take care of others (think of an aeroplane oxygen mask). Also, lowering our expectations of ourselves and understanding there is no such thing as a 'normal' or 'perfect' family!🤩 So....thanks to my parents and friends helping, I am working on restoring balance. A meditation class last night, laughter yoga today and a looong bath tonight. 🧘♀️🛁
I'm a minimalist when it comes to clothes. I live in jeans and tees! As a busy mom, I feel like I wear out my clothes so quickly.
