A group of new carvers at the #radicalbakersgathering. I'm in leafy (and slightly soggy) Shropshire this weekend running workshops at the Radical Baker's Gathering. It's a great little independent festival centred around solutions for sustainable living. There are workshops on everything from fermenting and foraging to slojd and skinning squirrels with some sustainable technology thrown in for good measure. And a couple of great bands in the evening. What's not to like...?
Blues in Jazz: A Guide to Improvisation for All Instruments and Voice – Part 3⠀ ⠀ Hermon Chapel Arts Centre, ⠀ Oswestry, SY11 1LF⠀ Sat 22nd June 2019 10:30AM⠀ ⠀ This course offers a vocal and instrumental approach to jazz improvisation over the blues. No in depth knowledge of music theory is needed as the ‘ear’ and ‘feel’ will be your main guide to playing and soloing over the blues in a jazz style. #Shropshire #weather Most places starting dry and bright, but showers, soon arriving across all parts during the morning. Some of the showers will be heavy with a risk of thunder. Breezy, but warm in any sunshine. A high of 18C.

#telford @therealdannytommo exposes yet another part of the rape and sex trafficking network. If you can stomach hearing about these ghastly crimes and the local and national establishment’s incompetent mishandling of this issue, please follow Danny on Twitter. “If you tolerate this then your children will be next” Manic Street Preachers. We had to move the village fete to the village hall at the top of the village due to inclement weather. But it didn’t stop Buddy and Sally from doing carriage rides and the views up there are fabulous #shropshire#dogfriendly#hopbarn#rurallife
I'm very pleased to say that my final piece for this year of my photography course is on show at Shrewsbury College. It's a series of large prints of some documentary landscape photos taken earlier in the year at the decommissioned Ironbridge Power Station. I've edited them in a style to match their abandoned state - I would put them in this post as a gallery but I'm posting from desktop and it's not possible. They don't look particularly big in the photo because I had to go so far back to fit them in, but four of them are A2 size and the centre one is A1, which is the largest I could print. The show features photography, video, fine art, and more, and is open to the public at Shrewsbury College from 9:00 to 16:00 next week (monday to friday). It's really worth a look to see the huge amount of creativity we have in the area! Most of the photos I've now produced as a final piece were posted earlier in the year on this account, albeit edited differently. If you'd be interested in seeing them again on here in their new versions, leave a comment to let me know. #shrewsbury#shrewsburyphotographer#shropshire#shropshirephotographer#shrewsburycollege#shrewsburycollegesgroup @shrewscolgroup
The rain didn’t put me off visiting my favourite haunts in Ludlow today. It did make take photos rather difficult so apologies for the rather hasty snaps - but here is a rather splendid market town in England on a rainy Saturday in June. Oh and with my favourite shop @blackbough thrown in (do visit!)
