Nino Malapet and the Bantous de la Capitale present a very groovy 45 here with Gigi and Maria Linda. Released in 1969, this double header is an absolutely prime example of some extremely funky Congolese rumba - a genre which I definitely think is worth exploring! And of course, as we found out with Kiko Kids Jazz, this was also released before the Congo was briefly dubbed ‘Zaire’. Bit of a heater to soothe your rainy Monday!
