Although I think we have similar followers, gonna share this post here too... WARNING: MAJOR RANT!!! Soooooo our human daddy, my girl’s hubby, interviewed for a job last week and the interviewing manager was super excited to ask for the final approval from some other manager she had to speak with. Bear in mind that our guy was born with a disability and is in a wheelchair but is very capable, he just can’t walk. He would need a slight accommodation for one thing on this job, that’s it, and it is a super simple accommodation to make. The manager making the decision said no because he could not do everything without an accommodation. That’s discriminatory in itself but she didn’t stop there...she said something that literally is included in examples of descriptions of reasonable accommodations under the ADA guidelines is not a reasonable accommodation anyway!!! My girl is HOT! My girl took on Apple over having me with her during a store rotation this past spring without the discriminatory paperwork they were asking for and WON! Apple totally revamped their Service Dog policies because of my girl (yes, HR actually came to her and told her that)! Do these people think she will sit back and do nothing?! Corporate is closed for the weekend but LOOK OUT come Monday morning! What the HECK is with people discriminating without a second thought?! GRRRRRRRRR!!! #discriminationisnotok#discriminationsucks#adadiscrimination
Muppet Santa photo! Santa is one of the Muppets' favorite people. They love the beard. The fact that they get tons if attention doesn't hurt either. It was a bit stressful for me. We went to Petsmart this year. There were several dogs waiting (30-40 minute wait to see Santa). Being a Saturday & a prime shipping time, the store was packed. I was in high alert the hole time. People kept trying to let their dogs say hi to mine. My body language made it perfect clear that I was not going to allow that. I never had to say anything; just kept talking to my dogs & getting them to focus on me. But just because people weren't "letting" their dogs interact with mine doesn't mean there weren't attempts to accost my dogs. The Muppets were barked at, lunges at, jumped at...any rude dog behavior you can think of. The owners had limited control. Tia & Elphie never responded. They were not perfect (typical dog store behavior; Tia was worse because she was spoiled when we wirked at Petco), but way better behaved than most dogs in the same situation. I'm ready for a nap! #servicedog#servicedogintraining#germanwirehairedpointer#diabeticalertdog #cardiacalertandresponsedogintraining #santaphotos2018#petsmart#petsmartsanta2018#potssyndrome#lymedisease#eds#type2diabetes
This is the look you give the the untrained barking monster dog in the TSA line. Today we had incident at the airport 😢 while waiting to go through TSA there was another dog in line, no biggie I just kept sully in a focus so he wouldn’t notice it, we have been working very hard on our impulse control around other dogs. The other dog spotted him and was dog aggressive and went crazy barking and trying to lunge at sully. Sully did bark back a little but we kept refocusing and treating. The other dog barked for about 20 minutes and was trying to get to sully. Once through TSA I figured we would be fine. We take a few minutes I get him relaxed and refocused to be working and in his good happy space. Then we get to our gate and the monster dog is there. We stay standing as far from the dog as can be and I’m doing my best to block it from seeing sully. We start doing very basic commands and worksith lots of treat to keep him focused and hopefully out of the other dogs sight. Sadly the other dog see sully then spends the next 30 minutes snarling and barking at sully. Thank goodness that animal was not on our flight, my gate agent told the women she needed to get her animal under control. Sully is now quite shaken and refused to settle properly for the flight and was unwilling to walk after we got off. We are now sadly home again and going to have a quiet night, I hope and pray that today did not mess up his training too much. We will try to go work around other animals tomorrow #tinypoodle#microfloof#servicedog#servicedogsofinstagram#servicedogintraining#servicepoodle#servicefloof
•“If I nap under the tree, do you think Santa will bring me a box full of treats, mom?”• A Christmas tree nap was just the afternoon break we needed after a long morning filled with studying and packing. We are headed to NYC to experience this magical time of year with about 8.5 million other people! The holidays can be a tough time for a lot of people, so be sure to reach out to your loved ones and take time for yourself when necessary! Happy Holidays to all!
I love making things. It’s a great way for me to get out of my head and put my frustrations into something pretty. Lately, sewing has been my go-to when I’m having a bad pain or mental health day. I’ve been sewing harnesses, vests, bandanas, and collars all for this lovely boy. I also started making some cool pouches for medical stuff for my bags. For a while I felt like I had hit a creative wall block and it was really frustrating for me, since I’m usually doing something creative whether it be crocheting, drawing, painting, or photography. I’m happy that I’ve found my creativity again since it’s been such a big help with my health. . . Quinn joined me on errands today. We went to the post office, the store to get a Christmas present, the grocery store and the liquor store. Quinn was excellent for our first two stops and did fine at the grocery store. It was her first trip to get groceries and it was very busy so she got a bit overwhelmed. I took her to a quiet aisle let her regroup then we stayed put for a while and we practiced her commands while my dad shopped. Once she was up for walking around we walked up and down the aisles and was calm and relaxed for the rest of the trip. After we went to the liquor store. I was going to wait in the car but Quinn wanted to go inside. She did a good job in the liquor store she was just a bit dubious of the refrigerated alcohol section. So we worked on heeling next to the fridges and learned they won’t hurt us. This didn’t come as a surprise because Silas had a fear of the same kind of store fridges at this age. Also we’re approaching the fear period with Quinn so this is a spooky time for a pup. We are now home and Quinn is happily unwinding by running in the yard with Silas. I’ll let them play outside for an hour before bringing her inside for a well deserved nap. #fearperiod#dogfearphase#5montholdpuppy#servicedogintraining#servicedogprospect#belgianmalinoispuppy #belgianmalinoisservicedogintraining

Next up is Olivia! • • • • This is me and my girl Pink. I cofoster her and spend my days with her 3 days a week while Stacey Lynn is at work. I have been sitting for a little over a year. Being from Beavercreek, I'd heard about 4 Paws for much of my life. My sophomore year at UC, a university program was started here and I was immediately interested. Junior year, my family dog passed away, and I started seeing 4 Paws dogs everywhere and I started to look into it more. What started as me wanting to spend time with dogs, grew into so much more. I started sitting the following fall and I've loved every second of it. Seeing the difference these dogs make in people's lives, whether they go on to be a family dog, a breeder, or a service dog, has changed my life. My involvement with 4 Paws has given me such good friends. And it even influenced my parents to become involved one of their weekend fosters and their first full time fosters are graduating in the December class! While I love getting my dog fix in, I love seeing what these pups are capable of even more. You should become a puppy raiser so you can be apart of what is true 4 Paws magic. Becoming involved with 4 Paws has given me more than I ever could have dreamed! • • • • • • •#servicedogintraining #4pawsforability#servicedogsofinstagram#thankful#dogsofinstagram#takingthedisoutofdisability#dogs#changingtheworld#puppyraiser
Practiced some off-leash work and recalls in an empty parking lot while waiting for my lunch order to be ready. Quincy is doing amazing with her off leash heel (it’s honestly better than her on leash heel) In this video, Quincy is in a sit stay and then I give her a release command and ask her to return to my side heel position.
